The theft of my bike yesterday happened. My first impression of this cable lock is that the steel part is rather thin, not of great quality. In my neighbor's case, his bike looks like it was also broken into, but the steel part of the lock was unbroken, so he was able to keep it.
We've had pretty good experiences so far with the lock. Since there is no lock that is 100% theft proof, as a responsible bike owner, you should always be aware of the area where your bike will be left unattended/with or without a lock, and for how long you plan to leave it. Here we are again with I found the lock to be sturdy, works as described, and the mounting bracket works as described. We both have one complaint when the lock head sits inside the mounting bracket, it sits at an angle or in the wrong place. This side is attached to it, which could be very useful to some or can be purely pointless to others. My opinion on it would be that it is mostly useless. As stated, it has a slant on the side, and therefore, sometimes when I pedal, the inside of my lower leg rubs as my foot rotates up to pedal. Based on the quality of the lock and cable, the durability, and the price, I rate it a solid 4/5. It's not ideal for me to use the mounting bracket.

Having the key covered is a nice touch and makes it easy to identify. I don't have to worry about my bike getting scratched and the chain attached to my bike rack is long enough to attach my large bike with two 26" kid bikes. My biking days are filled with commutes to and from work, so I think about buying another one for extra security.
