This is not a Kryptolok from the second series. It's part of the "series 1"; The lock's first version. Both are present in my possession. The second series is much more difficult to crack open. The series 1 will be broken open with a sledge; this particular variation; When I misplaced my keys, I did it. In my experience, Series 1 gets stuck a lot. When you're in a hurry, this is a great way to keep track of things. There has never been a jam with the Series 2. Series 2 is available for purchase. The company created a "Series 2" for a reason.
I've had this outside for over a year and it hasn't rusted, thanks to the vinyl coating on the cable.
They produce a lock-making graphite aerosol. Avoid WD40 and other similar products. They are attracted to dust and grit, which eventually leads to failure. br>Also, when did trolling Amazon posts become the norm? The term "relieve" refers to the lock returning to its original state.
How to attach is demonstrated in a video. I'm afraid I can't post the link because Amazon says it's "inappropriate," but you might be able to find it on the Kryptonite website.

Through Kryptonite's website's THEFT PROTECTION OFFER (ATPO) service, I purchased this lock, which is listed as the "Kryptonite-New-Kryptonite-Kryptonite-Kryptonite-Kryptonite-Kryptonite-Kryptonite-Kryptonite-Kryptonit U Kyptolok series 2 standard bicycle U Lock with 4ft Flex Bike Cable"; U Kyptolok series 2 standard bicycle U Lock with 4ft Flex Bike Cable"; U Kyptolok series The prefix letter on the key, on the other hand, is a "P," indicating that this is not a series 2! Unfortunately, you'll need an itemized receipt to register your lock for ATPO on the website, and because the lock doesn't match the key type, you won't be able to register the lock under the same name as the one on the itemized receipt. Many people have had their locks broken for security reasons, so registering the lock for this anti-theft system was a top priority for me. thievery program br>br>On top of that, the key and the lock are difficult to match. It takes approximately 15 minutes to jiggle the key into the hole. I've only had the lock for about a week and it took me 20 seconds to unlock it. One of my family members purchased a Kryptonite lock about four years ago, and they've had similar problems. I assumed their problems were due to normal wear and tear over time, and that if the lock had a flaw, it would have been addressed in newer models. My assumptions were incorrect. I 100% DO NOT recommend buying a lock from Kryptonite!
I 100% DO NOT recommend buying a lock from Kryptonite!.
I chose "KryptoLok Series 2 Standard with 4 Ft Cable" as the product name, and the website asked me to choose a key prefix, but none of the three options was letter P. So I figured it wasn't a Series 2 to begin with. The key prefix option changed to letter P after I changed the product name to just "KryptoLok. " br>br>I'm confident that this lock will last a long time, but I'm only giving it one star because the product name on Amazon is incorrect.
However, it can be difficult to turn the key. Things I like:br>br>I find 9x4 inch locks to be a versatile choice for locking up one bike; I tried a "mini" lock and couldn't get it to lock to anything with the lock through both the frame and a wheel. Those locks might be fine if you only need to secure your bike to a specific rack and the geometry cooperates, but I noticed at least two pictures on Kryptonite's website that show a mini lock around only the frame and a rack. Hmm. However, with a lock of this size, I've always been able to secure my bike to whatever I find at my destination. The larger locks are adequate for two bikes but overkill for one. br>br>I like the double deadbolt because it requires two cuts through the lock to cut it off rather than one. I believe it was the wirecutter. Things I don't like:br>br>On the older design, the keyway was at one end of the crossbar, where it was easy to see and get to. This design places the keyway in the middle of the crossbar, where it is difficult to see and get to. When the lock is hanging on my bike's rack, as it usually is when not in use, the new position is less visible and more difficult to access. A frame bracket is something I've never used before. br>br>Turning the key can be a hassle. Kryptonite appears to be aware of this, as it includes a red tag that reads, "Don't Force the Key. " It's so finicky at times that I'd rather walk away and leave my bike unlocked than spend the time jiggling things until it turns. But, this being my fourth bike lock, that's how it's always been for me. Perhaps all I need to do now is improve my technique. Things I'm not sure about: br>br> br>br>Kryptonite produces thicker and more "secure" locks, but are there any studies that show that the extra fraction of a millimeter reduces theft? I'm inclined to believe that the double deadbolt would make a practical difference, but I'm also tempted to say that nothing would. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> Because turning the key is difficult, I've reduced my rating from four to two stars. I've had other people try the key, and they all agree that it's a huge challenge. But, rather than having another epic struggle with the key, it turns out to be the most secure lock I've ever owned because I've been leaving my bike safely at home and walking the half mile to the grocery store. It can deceive me by turning smoothly one moment and then not the next. I'm almost afraid that if I use this lock, I'll never be able to open it again with the key.
Many people have given this product a one star rating because they do not fully understand what a lock is. A lock is merely a deterrent to a thief; it is not a solution. Any lock can be broken, so stop giving it a one star rating if your bike is stolen.
THE ASSAILANTS' CAR JACK WAS BROKEN. YES, IT STILL WORKS. HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH, br>Rest in peace, my dear, brave cord who was killed in battle- You will not be forgotten for your sacrifice. br>br> *In the two years that I've owned it, I've only left my bike outside once, to you, the reader- Regardless of my success, I caution you: Don't put your trust in the people in your immediate vicinity. Not a single time.
This lock appeals to me because of its sturdiness and the trust they place in it. br>br>However, I was dissatisfied right away because I had been misled about the "anti-Semitism" movement. warranty against theft" ADVANCED FEES ARE REQUIRED. This makes sense, but the advertising was deceptive, and people mistook it for something else. In fact, the only reason I spent more on this was because I assumed I would get that. If I had known, I would have probably purchased a less expensive one. br>br>The design and features appeal to me, and the extra 4ft cable is a must-have for commuters. br>br>Another issue is that the key does not always seem to want to work. I can not determine when it happens, but I believe that sometimes if you start turning the key when it isn t 100% inserted, it might turn part of the lock and then you get With enough tries, it will eventually open. This has only happened a few times, and it always resolves on its own, but it is still inconvenient. As I previously stated, I believe it was most likely due to carelessness when inserting the key, but it is strange nonetheless. br>br>Despite my criticisms, it is still a fantastic lock, albeit a little pricey.
