Questions & Answers

Is it possible to throw it?

This tomahawk is frequently thrown by us. The handle on my m48, which I purchased from United Cutlery three days ago, has just snapped. This makes me angry. If possible, I'd like to return it and purchase a new SOG.

Is there a mark that says "made in China" on the bottom of the handle?

I used it and it worked well, but the few times I missed, I must have knocked the china off of it, which was probably the only flaw in this great hawk. Not joking, best money I've spent in a long time. practice makes perfect, and this took very little practice. I'm buying them for all of my daughters' cars as a defensive weapon. It's like cocking a shotgun, but scarier in a girls' hand. great buy, good quality, and commands respect.

Is it possible to completely remove DNA trace evidence?

Organic proteins are notoriously difficult to remove from surfaces, and this tool has a lot of small crevices where they could get stuck. After an accidental stain, however, depending on how quickly it is cleaned, it may be possible to clean the entire thing. Neutrex and other oxy cleaners have been shown to be effective at completely removing blood proteins from surfaces that are notoriously difficult to remove. Other substances, such as oxy cleaners and hydrogen peroxide, may also help, as blood contains hemoglobin, which grabs as much oxygen as it can. Saliva is also excellent at breaking down blood proteins in a pinch and cannot be detected by any conventional biological test once it has been filled. An acidic solution might work as well, but you risk damaging the ax.

What are the dimensions of the handle?

If you buy this from Amazon, everything is described in the description, so if it's 12 and a half inches long, the handle will be about 12 inches long.

Part 2 of a two-part series on poor quality control Be cautious when purchasing something online
3/5

My earlier purchase of the satin polished Fast Hawk tomahawk should have taught me a valuable lesson. The blade of the tomahawk was rusted through and through. It was supposed to be razor sharp, according to the advertisements. So, I took a chance and ordered the Fast Hawk with a hardened black finish. That one, too, was touted as having a razor-sharp blade finish. This tomahawk's blade sharpness is duller than my other tomahawk that I bought previously. Once again, the product description is deceptive, and contacting an Amazon customer service representative is nearly impossible these days. I'm sick of Amazon product descriptions that don't match the actual product I get, and I'm not getting what I paid for.

Tomahawk of exceptional quality
5/5

This item is extremely well-made and long-lasting. Because I don't practice throwing my weapons or use them for camp chores, I have no idea how well it performs as a "woodcraft" or throwing tomahawk. This tomahawk serves as a supplement to my primary and backup weapons for me. It appears to be well suited for the job. In combat situations, it is powerful, sharp, and simple to use and manipulate. It appears to be capable of acting as an emergency tool in the field, and I've seen a number of videos that suggest it's also a capable throwing hawk. If you believe the SOG Fasthawk-X will meet your needs (whatever they may be), you will not be disappointed. As I previously stated, it is a very well-made, long-lasting, sharp, and well-designed tool. Tomahawk that is well-balanced and of good quality.

Sharp Hawk is one of them
4/5

It has a lot of bite to it. For a low-cost hawk, it appears to be quite balanced. This hawk can be used by even the most inexperienced user, and it will stick! One star is deducted because of the sheath that came with it. The hawk cut some of the case's stitching after only a few uses, making it extremely difficult to remove from the sheath. A kydex sheath, in my opinion, would be far superior. For it, I've created a leather sheath. Overall, I would advise anyone at this price point to purchase.

The top of the head breaks
3/5

The head is great, but the body is not. I purchased three of these, and the only one that isn't broken is the last one. If you create a product that will inevitably break, consider providing replacement handles. And no, I didn't interrogate them or abuse them in any way; I simply tossed them in the back of the house near a large pine round. I didn't buy them because they looked cool, but they were fine at about ten feet. I hunt with a bow, rifle, and high-powered pellet rifle, and I was looking for something different to do right outside my back door. They were fine at ten feet, but as I got closer to twenty-five feet, they began to break at the base of the head. I really wanted to like these tomahawks, but they were breaking so easily.

5/5

These tomahawks are light, easy to throw, and develop consistent throws over a wide range of distances. They are also, in my opinion, tactically flawless. The beard drops low enough that these can be used in close quarters to protect the knuckles while also developing into a short to medium range threat. If you have a pair of shoes, you can switch from one to the other. They're so light and low-profile that they blend in perfectly with your body. In terms of the complaints about the handle, I believe it is simply bad luck. I have three sets of three that are solely for throwing. I've knicked or hit the handle several times while grouping shots, and it still takes a beating. With a little practice, you should be able to cleanly stick the axe and control the angle with good wrist control. A cheap file set will help with a quick and easy sharpening tool and should be used to flatten and sharpen the rear spike. Reverse grip throws deliver a consistent spike first hit that slams the handle up and forward. Any shot center mass with a reverse grip will lodge in the chest or lungs, resulting in a handle strike to the face if used defensively. This could also be used to play small games. Even if a throw is "missed," it can still have a huge impact; the complaints about the handle are simply bad luck. They are, in fact, my favorite feature of the weapon. I threw this tomahawk so that the handle smacks the target every time, making it bullet proof. 6 out of 5 stars for end-user product quality, design, and consistency. With any blade, some basic maintenance, such as sharpening, is a must. When I sanded down the acute edges on the non-cutting surfaces and slightly reshaped the skull crusher, I noticed a significant improvement in performance. A quick sanding on the handle between uses keeps it smooth but still grippy, and it releases like butter every time. I don't know how many things I've bought from Amazon, and I almost never leave reviews. No matter what you're looking for, these are the real deal in every way.

The head is small
4/5

I have a number of SOG knives and have never been disappointed with any of them. As a result, I was both surprised and disappointed by the hatchet head's size. It's smaller than I expected after never seeing one in person. br>br>Other than that, it's standard SOG fare. The hatchet comes with a razor-sharp edge out of the box, a sturdy handle, and a point opposite the hatchet that will shatter windows and heads. I haven't had a chance to throw it yet, so I can't comment on that. To be honest, I bought it to keep in my car as a self-defense weapon while camping in the wilderness. In that role, I wish the head was a little bigger. Overall, I'm satisfied with it and intend to keep it. Oh, and the nylon cover isn't a snooze fest!.
