It is impossible to cut them, but it is possible to Since mine was a replacement, I already had the factory-installed mounts on hand. By tying knots in the end of the cord, I was able to make it shorter by about 3 inches. It is held in place by a steel pin that extends through the inside wall of the hull until the closed loop is facing outward and closed. Threading the loop end through the factory installed plastic retaining piece (removed for installation), then tying a large knot around the lock washer, I completed the installation. In this case, the knot and washer were large enough to prevent the cord from slipping. Reinstalled the retaining piece on the side of the hull and found that it was the right The process of doing this is very easy. I'd like to post pictures to show just how simple it is.

My boat has vertical rod holders, so I bought these straps for storing my fishing poles in it. As for jumping out of the boat during towing to and from the lake, I've always been a little concerned. Now, I am not worried about my roda jumping out of my boat, despite the fact that I have no idea what it would take. It appears to be a good product, however, I only gave it 3 stars for durability since bungee cords deteriorate over time. As they are packaged in a 2-pack, I should be able to use them for several years to come.
In most cases, they last for a couple of months, then the tip breaks loose and they are no longer useful. In the end I purchased a set of "Boatbuckle" tie downs since I was tired of spending money on these. Thank you for the purchase. I'm very pleased with it.
The new strap works perfectly. I installed a new one on the other side of the deck to replace the old weather damaged strap. This is my second attempt within less than a year and I have failed. It is no longer dependable to hook the bungie cords to the hook side. I have reclaimed them several times but it makes no difference. As I usually fish barefoot, I find that stepping on the deck mounts is more than enough for me. Since then, I have moved to a rod buckle system instead of this product.
I use it to keep fishing rods firmly in place on the deck of my bass boat. The machine will work just fine until it gets tangled up in a hook. Once I have cut out the hook, I will stitch it up. Based on the description and photos, I thought it might be solid rubber but I couldn't be certain. We didn't pay much for it, so that's something.
The first thing I noticed was how cheaply made this product is. As I bought them for a ridiculously low price, I had already drilled a pilot hole. As a result, I was not pleased with the final product after it was.
When I am fishing spots to spots, I put these on my bass boat so I don't lose the rods in the lake. In contrast to the Velcro style I had on my last boat, these are adjustable. The system is simple to set up. Just to be sure that I have ample slack for fishing rods for stripers or catfish, I left the excess rod wrap on. It offers an excellent value compared to As well as better ratings.
