They have a lot of flexibility and are very sturdy. There is only one thing I wish Scotty would add to them a rubber-like or grippy material at the entrance to the holders. There is no problem with them holding very well without the rubber grip at the entrance, but it would be nice to know that my expensive trolling rods were extra secure and unlikely to slip out on an accidental sharp turn when the rod is untied or there is no pressure holding the rod in place. These rod holders would make great choices for fishermen looking for a good, sturdy rod holder that is very cost-effective.
241L is the locking version with a pushbutton to release the holder from the base and is shown in the listing.
