Using the Scotty posts with standard Scotty mounts is possible. Depending on your preference, the Scotty logo can be attached to the bottom or side of the cup. Can't express how happy I am with the results. Having a cupholder very near the helm of the boat was essential. I like that these can be mounted in a variety of ways. The stub mount can be mounted on horizontal or vertical surfaces in very small spaces. So, I can mount the rod holders BUT I can also mount the little stub mount on horizontal or vertical surfaces.
