Product Description

Due to its soloscopic design, this fly rod is high performance, but also easy to assemble and take along due to its portability.
With ease of travel, you will be able to safely store your fly rod and reel, rigged and ready to fish at any time, wherever you are.
Carry a second rod - simply collapse that rod, remove the line and flies and rig the other dry fly rod with the dry fly flies you have already tied on.
Confidence, & Durability - Available in both a 9' for 7 wt and a 9' for 8 wt so there is a rod available for most freshwater and saltwater fishing situations.

Questions & Answers

Do you have a left hand reel that works with this?

As for the reel, I only bought the rod without the reel, but I would assume yes as most fly reels are compatible with either left or right-handed anglers. Just turn the ball bearings and you're good to go. Making it easy is a good idea. On Youtube, you can see it in videos. Contact the seller also if you want to.

Could someone please let me know where I can buy the cast king five-weight telescopic ?

In the event it is not listed on Amazon, it may have temporarily sold out.

Is a saltwater fly line included with the 8wt?

Dear Terry, The package comes with everything you need In this case, the line is predominantly for freshwater and is spooled with Propel WF floating line.

My guess is that this is good marketing
3/5

There is no doubt that Rod is a decently constructed product. A 8 wt of this item was purchased and returned. This was due to the fact that it was much heavier and seemed somewhat "deader" than other options. My most likely use of this pole has more to do with fishing and casting rather than travel, so the 4 piece rod won out due to its weight and feel. So I guess I'll try to swing the rod more often than it did the last time.

Typically, I don't write reviews, but I will for this one because if you look at all the positive reviews, you'll see that the majority of those reviewers have given Kastking products nothing but good reviews in the past. In addition to that, the rod came with a card that stated you would get a free product if you filled out a survey online. there were two links on the survey. After purchasing the product, you clicked on the first link and were offered the option of a floating line or 2 different types of leaders, along with the requirement to write a review of the product online and to post a screenshot. I can see how these reviews and surveys are shill marketing to hide the fact that it's not the best Generally speaking, it's a good idea, but the development needs to be better.

This is a great deal
5/5

Most of the top-rated products I have owned or used, I have had plenty of opportunities to use them There are line rods and reels offered both by the bass fishing market as well as by fly fishing market, and I've seen many different products made in the USA, UK, Japan, Korea, and China of varying standards of quality. In my opinion, this fly rod and reel combo from Kastking is one of the best products you can purchase at a lower price than the standard market price. Note the impressive quality of the reel. Quite frequently, I find that an inexpensive reel does not always have the spool perfectly aligned to the frame, and that minor imperfection may get even worse as the reel wears down. Eventually, the reel no longer feels smooth and sturdy to the hand. Although I tried my best to find a gap in this combo, the reel clearly doesn't have any loose feeling at all, even after I tried my hardest to find one. A surprising amount of noise and solidity are apparent during the retrieving process In terms of drag system quality, it has a pleasing medium-high quality It has a high pitch and is smooth as silk. The product is excellent but I won't praise it too much as though it can completely compete with the high-end There are no reels in the market that are as good as these due to their relatively normal surface anodized and plain non-coloured anodize This website has a good aesthetic design, but I am confident it is as good as any high-end website For their durability and performance, end disc drag fly reels are the best. There is a lot of weight to the rod, not only in its weight, but also in its incredible lifting power and unreal strength. My first thought when I first received this rod was, "How can it cast an 8wt line?" The rod at first looked like a 12wt rod, but I wondered if it could really cast that line. It turns out it casts very well after I gave it a shot with the line provided. As a result of the stiff blank, the handle generated a very tight loop and the rod was able to carry the line at breakneck speeds. Some people may be confused by the floating guides when they first see them, but once they become accustomed to them and they are easy to use, you will realize that they are necessary for adding strength to the blanks while maintaining the same number While the tip section is flexible enough to roll cast with heavier nymph rigs for big trouts or salmon, the broad body section is strong enough for an effortless roll cast. You should keep in mind that this is a fly fishing combo designed for traveling. The RCR is a true workhorse for any fishing conditions, even the most extreme. The bushes, trees, mud, and sand I encounter on the ways I choose my gear heavily influence my steelhead and salmon fishing. The combination should be able to support such a harsh environment as well as land you numerous beautiful trophies without failing in the process, with a price of It is too late for me to be satisfied at the 98 price point.

The rod is excellent
5/5

My two Kastking telescopic spinning rods make it necessary for me to use the telescopic fly rod when I want to learn how to fly fish. With the help of some YouTube videos, I have managed to learn casting decently well within a few outings. There is a slight advantage to a five-piece rod, and it is easier to load up on the rod, but the form factor of telescoping and keeping the rod fully lined and tied outweighs that for me. It is convenient to bring multiple rods rather than just one since the telescoping rods collapse so slim, unlike my friends who bring just one. Telescoping rods are a bit more fragile than traditional rods, but I do not see myself switching anytime soon. In the spring, I hope to catch some trout, but I have only caught sunfish and small bass so far. That carrying case conveniently fits in my trunk all the time, so it's always with me. My favorite floating line is the fresh mint Kastking line.

You don't have to grab a tube, you don't have to tie a rubber band to it, This is a new design for fly rods, as far as I know
5/5

Since I am curious about fly fishing, I bought a rod that is 141 grams, 4'' for later steelhead season. The rod itself is a bit heavy for an 8 wt, but I like its design. The container holds 95 ounces. Built to last, it should be able to handle the weight of The rod actually has six sections with a floating guide piece in the middle. Almost every rod end and guide piece is reinforced in this design, so I think it's smart in my opinion. There is a good finish to the work.

I used this rod to train a new guy on grass for the first time. I saw that it was a windy day, the first thing I noticed was that my swing weight for my telescopic rod was not as heavy as I thought, I can cast easily, make 60-foot casts I am at ease for 70 feet. With this combo, you get a fast action taper and a well-balanced ride that helps in the wind. Despite its slick, smooth and easy handling fly line, this Kastking combo is easy to pull. A path 8 wt combo was given to the new guy. My rod ends up being used to learn, since he always has his fly line tangle and mess up. * The telescopic design is disappointing, because it is not as short as I had dreamed of, and is still too long to pack in a carry-on. To fully extend or collapse this rod will still take some time. However, once I figure out how to use the convenience of the telescopic design, I'm so glad I used to drive a sedan and use my fishing rods on the passenger seat, especially fly rods since they are too long. I now retract two bottom sections and the rod becomes about 6'6", I stick the fly on the hook keeper and reel back the line till it is It won't take me more than 30 seconds to do all this. As with any shorter rod, it can be lean against the passenger seat. As soon as I need to use it, I pull out some line and open the two bottom sections, and I'm ready to go That will take me 20 seconds at the most and I have a straight tippet and leader line. Recently, I have used it almost exclusively to catch anything. Now this is my favorite fly rod.
