Questions & Answers

I bought one of these, a 9-footer, and took it to Europe, where the first time I used it on pool line, the tip broke off. That top section is exactly what I'm looking for. Is it possible for me to obtain a copy?

Yes, it is available for purchase. Please contact Piscifun Customer Service through your order, and we will assist you as soon as possible. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude. Piscifun is a fictional character created by Piscifun.

What kind of materials were used to create these?

I believe it is China, but don't let this put you off. I purchased one for my daughter last year, and she uses it several times per week. It's a durable rod that's also a great value.

What is the purpose of a 6wt fly rod in terms of catching fish?

Fly fishing lines are available in a variety of weights, ranging from one to twelve ounces. Fly line manufacturers all weigh their lines in grains (one gram equals 14 grains). Lines are numbered instead of being measured in metric because the United States does not use it. br>The higher the number, the heavier the fly line, which casts farther but at the expense of presentation delicacy. Trout and panfish in creeks and rivers benefit from a 5 or 6 weight system. A three- or four-star rating is ideal for me. For smaller creeks with lighter tippets, or for very wary trout on larger streams where a light tippet and small fly are required, use the weight system. Lines in the seven-digit numbering system Bass, steelhead, and salmon love the 8-pound weight range. A seven-pointed star is also one of my favorites. When long casts into lakes or ponds are required, this weight comes in handy. For saltwater fishing or trophy freshwater fish, weights in the 9 to 12 range are ideal. The size of the fly you're using is also a factor in determining fly line weight. With a light line, it's difficult to cast a large, weighted streamer delicately, and with a heavy line, it's difficult to cast a tiny mayfly imitation delicately. Most anglers use a 5 or 6-weight line for general trout fishing. system of weights Consider a 4 or 5-weight rod if you'll be casting a lot of size 18 or smaller flies and only need one rod for general fishing. A 6-weight line is recommended if you will be casting into the wind frequently on larger streams or rivers. It's possible that losing weight would be a better option.

If you have the 9wt version of this rod, you should know the following: Do you think it's as action-packed as it claims to be? Please accept my heartfelt gratitude. ?

I'd go with fast-paced. I took the 9wt and 7wt to Mexico last week, and it has a fairly stiff spine. I was throwing 1/0 clousers 100' with the 9wt, and they both cast extremely well. It's a shoulder workout, to say the least. It's a big spell, so don't try to cast it all at once. It's not for every day, but it's ideal for those "pick-me-up" situations. and-choose" casts with a specific audience. I had no trouble with Sierras or green jacks.

I really like these rods
5/5

Piscifun has provided me with three rods. The 8'6" 4wt, as well as a 9' 7wt and 9' 9wt, are all available. For the past few months, I've been nymphing with the 4wt, fishing it 3-weight. I go to the gym four times a week and adore it. It's a gentler action, with a buttery smooth finish. br>br>I recently traveled to Mexico and fished the beach, surf, and rocks near Puerto Vallarta with the 7wt and 9wt rods. I didn't want to spend $300 on a fly rod that might get broken, lost, or stolen on my first saltwater trip because it was a DIY trip and it was my first time casting a fly rod on saltwater. I thought it was fantastic. The rods were extremely well-balanced. They're both fast-action (7wt could be considered medium-action). fast), and after some practice, double-check. When I was hauling, I was able to make 90-degree accurate casts. A hundred feet out to the Sierras, just behind the break and sand churn. On a floating line, I was casting 1/0 clousers, charlies, and GSS flies; the 9wt gave my arms and shoulders a good workout, but the 7wt was easy to cast. Despite the fact that the fish I hooked were not particularly large, both rods handled them admirably. That was exciting because I hooked into something big that ran me into my backing in a matter of seconds and then broke my tippet (16lb test). Both rods are paired with piscifun sword reels, which have a drag system that needs to be checked on a regular basis but are otherwise smooth and perform well. br>br>I'd buy another rod and reel from piscifun without hesitation. They've performed admirably thus far, and I'm looking forward to putting the heavier rods to the test this summer on northern pike.

The product is of excellent quality and performs admirably
5/5

I used wF4F line and matched this rod to the piscifun sword reel 3/4 because I needed a shorter, lighter rig for small mountain streams. The pairing worked perfectly together. I'm used to fast/medium fast rods, so the action is slow for me. I was able to place my flies exactly where I wanted them after five minutes of getting used to the action. (I did, in fact, catch three fish! It was simple to do roll casts. The quality, high-end features at such a low price are impressive, and the sword reel and rod are a perfect match. They are in good spirits. balanced. I have a 7 on my report card. 5' 3'''''''''''''''''''''''' piece. A four-wheeled vehicle appeals to me because it is compact. a rod in pieces I didn't have any problems with sections coming loose, and the alignment dots are extremely useful. br>Both the rod and the reel have exceeded my expectations! br>10/06/18 Update: This weekend, I fished another small mountain stream and spent the entire afternoon rolling casts of 30 feet or more. Getting your casts "dialed in" is a breeze. (See photo) I caught a nice 13" brown trout. Using this rod and reel combo, I had a lot of fun catching tenacious trout! It's ideal for both novice and experienced anglers.

For the money, this is a fantastic rod
5/5

I purchased the 8'6" 4-foot model. I wanted to try out a lighter line-weight rod to see how I liked it. I expected a budget-friendly performing rod for the price, but I was pleasantly surprised. The rod is light and balanced (as opposed to other rods I've tried that are tip heavy), with a genuine slow action that casts surprisingly well and makes catching even small panfish a lot of fun. I can easily make casts out to 55 to 60 feet with the budget WF4F line, though because of its soft, "noodley" action, I have to concentrate on my casting stroke to make the longest casts; shorter casts, on the other hand, are a breeze. My fly rod was purchased about 8 months ago, and it was stolen, along with three other fly rods, from my truck a few weeks ago. I liked this rod so much that I wanted to replace it first, so I went out and bought another one.

The Most Effective First Setup! I was on the market for about a year before I bought my first Fly rig, which consisted of a Sword Rod, Reel, and Flyline
5/5

I was concerned that I would purchase the incorrect items and end up with an unbalanced setup, which all professionals agree is a major issue. I ended up purchasing the Piscifun Sword 3/4 weight reel, 4 weight 8'6" Piscifun Sword rod, and the WF-Sword WF-Sword WF-Sword WF-Sword WF-Sword WF-Sword WF-Sword WF-Sword WF-Sword W The flyline is a 4 weight Piscifun Sword. br>I'm telling you, this is a well-balanced rig. I cast a series of 15-minute practice casts during my second practice casting session. With accuracy, casts out to a distance of 20 yards. It cost $163 to get everything set up, including the MaxCatch travel case, leader line, and backing. I went to my local fly shop and had them help me pick out my first box of flies after doing some research on local entomology. I even found a great how-to book that took me from first cast to first fish and wasn't one of those lame how-to books that you'd be better off learning from YouTube. It's a fascinating and enjoyable read. To be honest, this was one of the best decisions I've ever made, and the journey has been incredible thus far. If this is your first time purchasing, go for the complete Sword package.

For the price, the quality is incredible
5/5

This rod casts well, is well-made, and has a pleasing appearance. The reel seat, which is made of a mix of graphite and aluminum, is both decorative and functional. The rod and guide openings are matched, allowing for uplining if desired. The handle has a medium diameter and is shaped in the classic "perfect" design. The cork, while not of the highest quality, is compensated for by a color-matched filer. Don't be fooled by the low price; the overall product will exceed your expectations. The rod is excellent, but it has broken twice in the last seven months
3/5

EDIT2: They sent me a new section of the rod to replace the one that had broken so quickly. I still have my doubts about the quality, but they do have excellent customer service. br>br>EDIT: They offered to replace the rod for a reduced price, and the process was simple. After another month of fishing, it splintered off in the same spot. I'm not sure if it can't handle the cold, but it happened twice in normal use with no fish or pressure. I was attempting to make a roll cast when it suddenly broke. The rod has a nice feel to it, but the quality isn't great, so I won't be buying another. ORIGINAL POST: BR>BR>ORIGINAL POST: ORIGINAL POST: ORIGINAL POST: ORIGINAL P br>I loved casting this rod because it was so easy to control. The casting was flawless, and the action was fantastic. I used it on all of my small ponds at home. It broke on the water during a roll cast a few days ago, and I'm hoping the warranty process won't be too difficult.
