Questions & Answers

Reddington offers what kind of warranty on these rods?

The warranty is the worst. My rod snapped in half. It takes a week for them to respond to each email. It'll take about ten minutes. The repairs will take at least 12 weeks to complete. If they claim it isn't their problem, you must pay. The absence of a response is a deal breaker. br>br>Therefore, there is a warranty that is unconditional. a little bit

What is the material used to construct it?

The stripper guides are titanium oxide, with a Portuguese cork handle and a rosewood insert reel seat, and the blank is Toray graphite. The rod's finish is particularly attractive in the sun.

What is the blank/shaft's material?

It's a graphite blend redditon was bought out by sage fly rods, so it's a less expensive sage model. I like the rod because it has a slower action but presents well.

I'm curious about the rod tube's length. ?

It is determined by the rod's length. 3 wt. for a 7'6" The length of the tube is approximately 23".

This is an incredible deal
5/5

I really like these rods, and they're a great deal. Authors and casting instructors who specialize in fly fishing have complimented me. When loaded, the rod provides incredible feel as well as pinpoint accuracy. The disadvantage is when there are strong winds and/or long distances to travel. This rod, on the other hand, excelled in Catskill rivers and streams. Plus, the 9-foot-4-pound weight was only $99! In terms of blanks, this rod competes with rods costing between $300 and $400. The reel seat and cork are mediocre, but the rest of the rod performs admirably. Take advantage of the opportunity while it lasts. I've got three of them.

It's a joy to cast with this rod, and it's a fantastic fly rod
5/5

On my annual trip to Utah's beautiful mountains, I bought the 4 wt version primarily for trout fishing. I now live near Houston, Texas, and I couldn't wait to try out this rod, so I've been using it at least a couple of times a week on the local bass ponds for the past four months or so. br>br>I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS ROD! I've been a fly-on-the-wall for a while now. I've been fishing since I was 16 years old, so it's been around 24 years or so, and this rod is a dream to cast and very accurate. Despite being a 4 wt, I have tied up some size 8 topwater bass flies and some size 8 weighted wooly buggers, and this rod handles both just fine, and has landed some nice bass, up to about 3 lbs (which is a blast on this light weight rod). On every cast out to at least 40 feet, I've been able to deliver these flies with pinpoint accuracy. 50 ft. After that, accuracy begins to deteriorate, and the rod appears to be slightly over-powered. extended, but this is a moderate action rod designed for short casts, so I'd say it's a great rod for the job! I've also been teaching my 11-year-old daughter to cast with this rod, which is ideal for teaching young children to cast due to its moderate action, light weight, and 9-foot length. She's been doing well with it, catching some nice little panfish with it, and now she insists on using it whenever we go fishing. I guess I'll have to get her one of my own now, because I'd like to use it as well! br>br>Strongly suggested trout rod!.

It's almost stealing at this price
5/5

OK, I just got this rod and have only used it in the yard, but buying it for the price offered is like stealing it. I own several $500 rods, but I'm not going to fall for the marketing gimmick again. This rod has a fantastic appearance and casts beautifully. I purchased a 5wt, 4-piece, 9-foot rod and will most likely purchase a 4 wt for dry fly fishing. Do not be hesitant; Purchase this rod and use the remaining funds to purchase other items. In my opinion, this is a once-in-a-lifetime deal.

The rod is adequate for nymphing, but it is not ideal
3/5

I purchased the 4-pack. piece, 9- 5wt rod with a length of ft. br>I may change this to a 4 star review once I try some more dry fly fishing, but I have to say it's too slow for nymphing. To say it's a classic trout rod and for it to be so slow is an understatement. It's a good rod for the money, it's light, and it casts dry flies well, but it's simply too slow for nymphing, even on medium-sized streams. I can actually catch a fast action 8 on the fly. I can nymph better with a 5ft 4wt rod than I can with a 9ft 5wt rod. I'm glad I have it in my arsenal because it's not too expensive and has a good feel, but it's not the all-around rod I had hoped for. I'm going to give the vice a shot and see what happens.

Redington's 8' 4wt Classic Trout Fly Rod is a throwback to a simpler time
5/5

My second Redington prized possession is the Redington Classic Trout (CT) fly rod. The company continues to place a high value on quality. br>br>My new CT rod resembles the classic glass rods of the past in appearance and feel, but it is much lighter. It casts accurately from 15 to 35 feet (with a cheap Chinese DT4F fly line) with a true moderate action blank. To complement the old-fashioned look, I ordered a Cortland Sylk DT4F line. This outstanding performer has an out-of-this-world appearance and feel. I'm excited to put it on my computer. br>br>Longer casts are possible. With this 8-person team, you'll be able to do it, but it won't be easy. footer. I'll use my other rods for distance casting because of the rod's deep bend down toward the middle. I was able to make 50 feet with reasonable accuracy after some practice, but it wasn't really worth the effort, which was to be expected given that this rod was designed to shine on smaller waters. The Classic Trout rod, in my opinion, is ideal for small to medium-sized trout and panfish. Bream abound in our small backyard pond. I'm all set for the thaw of spring! br>br>I sat for a few minutes, trying to come up with some negatives, but I couldn't come up with anything. The wood insert in the handle adds to the dark brown (I call it chocolate) color. As slick as greased owl snot, the guides are. The cork is soft and has character marks, similar to cork from the 1970s. Finally, the protective tube is quite large, with compartments for each of the four sections. Look elsewhere if you're looking for opulence. The Classic Trout fly rod has a subtle quality that comes in a small package.

I recently purchased this rod in a 5 weight 9 foot model and found it to be of excellent quality at a reasonable price
5/5

It appeals to me. I haven't tried it out yet, but I did some practice casting and was able to make 45-foot casts with ease. With accuracy, 50 foot casts are made. The headquarters of Redington are located on Bainbridge Island in Washington, which is where I was born and raised. A few years ago, I visited there. A hat and a tour were given to me. It appeared that they were making rods, so I was taken aback when my rod arrived with a sticker indicating that it was made in China. I was under the impression that I was helping a small business in my neighborhood. Perhaps they design their rods in the United States and have them made in China. G Loomis, I've heard, is doing something similar right now. That said, I still adore this rod and am looking forward to using it to cast dry flies to eager trout. I also have a Redington Path 6 weight 9 foot rod that I primarily use in Puget Sound for Sea Run Cutthroat. It's a superb rod as well. Lines that are very close together.

Excellent value for money
5/5

I own three 4wts, including a high-end Orvis, and this is one of them. In my opinion, the Redington isn't that far behind the Orvis. Although there is a noticeable difference in cork, reel seat, and other materials, there isn't much of a difference in casting. A small stream rod, a 4wt, is used for fishing. It only requires a few feet of line to load, and the CT takes care of that. It throws a tight loop out to 30 feet with little effort, but I haven't landed anything larger than 14" on it and don't plan to. If I were fishing for 14-inch trout in a river, I'd use a 5. There is no such thing as a universal rod (which is why I have so many). This one does a great job with small trout streams.
