Questions & Answers

Why can't I get my shoe in an E because I have a wide foot and there isn't an option for it?

My arch is high and my foot is wide. The listing makes no mention of the width. My fear was that the shoe would be too small and would have to be returned. I took a risk and discovered that the shoe is wide and true to size in length. I'd make another purchase.

Anyone have any advice on how to take care of the uppers (the brown part)?

The upper is made up of two different materials: leather and suede. suede leather and a synthetic mesh material Soap and water are the best cleaners for mesh. A suede leather brush (soft metal bristles) is recommended for the leather.

Is that pair of boots suitable for the colder months? Or will it be too cold for my feet?

They're not meant to be worn in the winter. It's light and airy, with a mesh top, and it's oh-so-comfy. Your feet, on the other hand, will be freezing.

Cheap crap isn't worth it
3/5

Shoes became wet from walking through wet grass and small puddles, and within an 8-hour period, they disintegrated. br>The entire shoe disintegrated from the sole. It was extremely humiliating. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this purchase; it was a complete waste of money for me. There was a time when businesses were proud of the products they produced. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.

Exceptional traction in the dry
5/5

They're a great deal for a basic hiking shoe under $40. I run around 300 miles a year, so I go through a lot of pairs, and these have held up well in both dry and moderately wet conditions. For the winter, I have Merrells, Columbia, and Salomons, but these are ideal for the summer. There have been no problems with them after about 25 miles, and the tread has held up well. They do require some breaking in, but don't let that deter you; simply wear a thicker hiking sock and they'll break in nicely.

For everyday use, it holds up well
5/5

I bought the first pair at Costco for about a third of the price a few years ago, as did others. For daily use (approximately 5 miles per day, but occasionally up to 10) I really liked the shoes. I was disappointed when Costco stopped carrying them, but I gladly paid the higher (normal?) price. Because of how well they wore, they were given a higher price here. The sole did not separate, as can be seen, and the failure occurred at the bottom seams. The soles wore down in a consistent pattern. These shoes were a few years old and had seen a lot of use on walks around town and trail hikes. The soles aren't stiff enough for rock and boulder hopping across creeks, and they aren't true "hiking boots. " They aren't waterproof, either, but they are ideal for light hiking on trails and everyday use.

These are the shoes I wear when I go for a walk
4/5

These appeal to me. I first found a pair on clearance at COSTCO for a ridiculously low price. They performed admirably during our daily 2-mile walks. After about 400 miles, the heels wore out, so I ordered replacements from Costco, which did not have any. A decent shoe for a reasonable price. What's not to like about that?.

Although it is comfortable, it is only suitable for a short period of time
4/5

I like a good summer casual shoe, but I'm not a big fan of white athletic shoes, so these were a good compromise. br>My first pair came from a membership store, and my second pair came from Amazon (at twice the price). The shoes are well-made and appear to be made of high-quality materials. br>br> br>However, after 100 days of heavy use (including a daily mile-long dog walk), a hole appeared in the upper portion of one show, and the soles of both shoes had significant wear on the outer heels. br>Why bother with another pair after such a brief existence? br>They have a nice look to them and aren't too pricey. Despite the fact that my first pair, which cost $14, was clearly a better investment. This Amazon price does not appear to be a good deal. Even so, it's preferable to going to the mall in search of a new show that might or might not last longer. br>It was because of this convenience that Amazon's founder became wealthy. Now if I could just get them to stop recommending the same books every time I visit the site, I would have bought Michelle Obama's book a year ago. )br>br>Although this pair was not available through Prime, it did come with free shipping. I received them in four days, which was faster than the estimated delivery time of a week.

Sneakers are comfortable (once broken in), but quality appears to be a major concern
3/5

Updated on December 20, 2021: Since the last update, I've worn them a few times. 2-, according to some. Walks of 3 miles work in the yard There was nothing out of the ordinary. If I hadn't already done the numerous repairs, the front part that most people mention splitting is now splitting everywhere. Even though I dropped ANOTHER star, I still hesitate to label these "junk. " I'll admit that when they were new, I put more "milage" on them than I would normally do for a new pair of sneakers, and I'll also admit that my go-to shoe is the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star. Skechers aren't perfect, but they A) last longer, even if they have issues now and then B) are a similar price when I buy them on sale, which I always do C) are more comfortable with the built-in Skechers memory foam (the last few pairs of Skechers I've bought have Memory Foam). br>br>These (and I no longer trust Fila) have far too many issues for the amount of use I put them through. br>br>September Update: (I removed the last update where I was torn between liking and hating these sneakers) I've had these in a box for quite some time and have only worn them a few times in the last few months. I took them for a walk today and found that more of the front was randomly ripping with fuse from inside the. resin? I'm not sure what that front part is, but it looks like a shoddy (really shoddy) attempt to imitate fake leather or something. br>br>I love Skechers, but I'd never say they're perfect, and I've made excuses for the tread on the bottom like "I wore these out a lot more than I normally would a new pair of sneakers," but I've just noticed that while I've made excuses for the tread on the bottom like "I wore these out a lot more than I normally would a new pair of sneakers," WHILE THIS IS STILL THE CASE Only the deepest parts of the tread have been removed. Both sneakers' backs, to be exact. There is no tread left. I wouldn't claim my go-to after months of use. It's fantastic to be able to brand Skechers. However, this is not a good situation. I've already had to make so many repairs, and they're not even for what I'm looking for. (I actually forgot) TOPS that are 5 months old and have not been worn on a regular basis. They shouldn't have this many problems until they're about a year and a half to two years old. and a single application- In the event that I had to, I was going to wear them in the rain. They haven t been in a drizzle yet and they are falling apart. I will keep them for as long as I can but these are 100 "knock around" sneakers at%
- br>Updated on June 17th, 2021: Okay, I'm sorry, but these are not something I can recommend. I know I can fix them again, but since you haven't read the rest of my review, I assumed the black around the front ripping was caused by me putting a shoe-horn in the front. To stretch it out, put a horn in the right sneaker. I will admit that in terms of fit, it worked and has been fine ever since, but I purchased these in February 2021, and in terms of the bottom tred wearing out quickly, I must admit that I have put a lot more wear and miles on them than other new sneakers. As a result, they should be able to last for a longer period of time. I'll even give them a pass on that one. However, a few others, including myself, have posted photos of. They were out for a short walk today, and I happened to notice them. The back part of the front rips open for no apparent reason in several places. not un- These were going to be my "wearing them in the rain" sneakers, when my current "rain pair" becomes unwearable. I'd rather invest the $25 I paid for these in a USED (like-new, or possibly "very good" on Amazon) pair of my go-to sneakers. Skechers is a brand name for a pair of shoes. I will never claim that THEY are flawless, but It is of higher quality. I'd say these Filas WERE "OK, but Skechers are better quality" even before the ripping for no reason issue started. br>br>I'm disappointed because they appear to be good quality and, once broken in, fit perfectly. They aren't particularly bad in terms of intelligence. However, if they continue to fall apart in this manner, THEY WILL FALL APART SOON (note: These past few months, I haven't worn them nearly as often as I would like). I'm not going to buy them.

- br>Update (condensed version of previous updates): br>br>I believe I finally (did have to) move where I put the SOFCOMFORT Double Thick Foam piece (from leftover insules) but right around the area where my two smallest toes are and/or right behind them (on my foot). That was the problem (only on the right side). I've never had the problem in the left sneaker) in the right sneaker. . . I think I've got it just right and I'm pleased with that, though there is another BIG problem now. br>br>I JUST CAME ACROSS THIS. Wrapping around the toe area is a black part. In less than 30 days, it's already ripping, and the more I wear it, the worse it gets. . . . I hate to say it, but this is unacceptable. . . I was seriously considering getting a backup pair, and even with the drawback of the fit in the right sneaker, I was satisfied with the quick fix (that, yes, I shouldn't have had to do) I made. While the sole is still glued correctly (at least for the time being), this rip has put any plans I had for getting another pair on hold. They do appear to be nice (though not as nice as the pictures on the internet. . . even on other sites). . . but they are nice. . . they don't "appear" to be cheap, but they are my go-to. Skechers, in the worst-case scenario, would do something like this after MONTHS of use. I must confess that I had to say something. I've put 40 miles on these so far, and I'm not being gentle with them or abusing them in any way. . . one reason being that if this sort of thing arises. Before I spend money on another pair, I'd like to know. I'm not going to edit my review below so you can see my initial thoughts, but. . . my (with my own fix 4. 5/5 …. It's not possible without it. It's now a 3 (possibly 4/5) instead of a 4. 5/5 simply because, while they're holding up, the wildcard of "will they last?" isn't looking good. . . . Also, I've put a lot of miles on these, but the think treads, which I loved at first, are wearing down FAST for what I expected. . . it's not terrible, but. . . parts of the bottoms are almost "flat" already. br>br>Even for the price. . . well, I DID recommend them before. . . I can't outright NOT recommend them now. . . but "meh" is more of my response to this question. . . maybe I can fix the rip with Shoe Goo or Gorilla Glue, but. . . as I said, it's not even 30 days and I shouldn't have to do this yet. I can live with the fit "con" because it's simple to work around with what I already own. . . the rip. That irritates me. br>br>I just put on my go-to outfit. For the first time in about two weeks, I switched to brand Skechers, and while they are a better quality sneaker than these, I've had cheap quality brand stuff as well, and this is somewhere in the middle, NEARER to "well made. " I have no choice but to be truthful. Those were the ones I wore today. The USE (not the number of days) had to be repaired. I believe they are CLOSE to the Fila's in terms of how many miles I put on them before they need to be repaired. I wasn't "babying" these like I might with other new sneakers, as I had previously stated. br>br>Finally, I believe I was disappointed because I had low expectations to begin with, but then I was pleasantly surprised (see initial review). If you don't count the times I undid my fix (to test them), things started to become an issue after that. Now it's a good fit. It's no longer as comfortable as most of my Skechers, but I'd still give it two thumbs up. In any case, 1 3/4. They shouldn't be ripping as soon as they are; However, I'm not going to make any excuses. To be fair to Fila, I'm just trying to be fair. My Skechers, on the other hand, require repair more frequently than I'd like to admit. They're still my go-to source of information. I think these are on the verge of being "really good. " I'm disappointed because they're so close but just off by enough. br>br>However, it came as a shock: The rip began the next day, after I installed a (front) shoehorn to stretch out the front. I'm making a note of this problem with which I'm dissatisfied. The shoehorn and padding may have improved the comfort of the right sneaker. However, it's possible that it was a self-inflicted wound. a problem that has been imposed on you I simply want to be objective in this situation.
- br>Preliminary Assessment: br>br>First, let me say that I despise writing reviews for products where I can't speak for them for an extended period of time. term. I just received these in the mail and am currently wearing them. To already answer my own question, I usually wear Skechers, but I was given a pair of New Balance that fit my size 13 feet perfectly; I've also gotten a good deal (like $13 max) on some "no-name" sneakers in the past, and they fit perfectly. is erroneous in some ways. In general, I didn't need wide-width in NB or Skechers. however, it is a generic brand. are hit-or-miss in terms of quality. Some "13s" have the FEELING of 12s. Advantages: br>br>
- COMPLETE COMFORT: THESE FILAS FIT LIKE A DREAM. When I first saw them, I thought they'd be too tight, but once I put them on my feet, they're just like any other pair of sneakers (width and length). The LIGHTNESS with which they are made astounds me. No complaining about these NOR my say typical Skechers at all. However, I had not anticipated this. The sensation I get when I step down. Just as comfortable, if not more so, than the sneakers I already own and adore. I'm blown away.

- While I've seen people say they got these at Costco for $19, I've also seen people say they got them elsewhere for less. 99 . Mine was only $26 when I got it. That's just above "that's such a ridiculously low price, I can't resist" territory. I like the way it looks. I really like the brown "suede" part (not sure if it's real suede or not), and the price was too good to pass up.

- Light: I know I've said it before, but I feel the need to repeat myself. These appear to be light in weight. It's almost as if I didn't remember to put my shoes on. but in all seriousness This is not something I am complaining about.

- br>Additional information: To be honest, I wouldn't wear these in sleet or snow. or even south Florida, as the case may be. a lot of rain They don't appear to be the TYPE of sneaker that would be appropriate for that. If you have to go out in that, I believe a heavier sneaker (like the Skechers I own) would be preferable. Alternatively, a boot could be used. I'm not saying these won't hold up, but they seem to me like the kind of thing you'd wear doing physical things outside in sunny conditions where you'll be active for a while, like yardwork or sports/jogging. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.

- It's possible that this one is unique to my physical pair. The brown suede portion does not appear to be as good in some of the photos I've seen. When you add in the fact that the seller didn't include any of the cardboard pieces that help the sneaker "hold its shape," you have a recipe for disaster. When I first opened the box, they appeared to be a little strange. With a little TLC for the Suede and an extra piece of cardboard "inserts" like sneakers usually come with, these should be fine. However, they appeared to be off in terms of presentation. But it's not a deal breaker for me. I have no choice but to be truthful. NOT including longevity, which I am unable to comment on at this time. The ONLY disadvantage I can mention is what I just stated. I'd tweak them a little in terms of style, but that's a minor quibble. Picking what's really important and what's not so important that it's worth delving deeper into.

- br>In conclusion: Keep in mind that I just received these, so I can't speak to their durability just yet. Hopefully, in some way, I will return to update this review on how things have progressed. The problem is. I WOULD say I recommend these, but with the caveat that I mentioned earlier. br>br>This is my very first pair of Filas. and as someone who has remained loyal to Skechers due to my bad-footedness, Hopefully, you'll have better luck with other brands. Fila . I'm blown away.

- br>I've worn them a couple of times since the shoe-related incident. A horn was placed in the front, and a section of the front split (Shoe Goo'd that). the shoe- Horn was able to resolve the issue, and now I am missing all or part of a custom insole in the right sneaker, which was too tight in a VERY SPECIFIC area. They shouldn't have broken up in the first place, but they did. For a reasonable price. br>br> Another pair would be interesting to me. Perhaps my current pair is more of a "kick around" pair than I anticipated, and the new pair will be the ones I try to keep in better shape or something.

It has the potential to be improved
3/5

When I'm hiking, I really like how these feel. Sadly, the toe's sole is still peeling off. I've only used it for hiking two times. Already, the soul of the toe area is eroding. I'm not going to buy any more after buying three pairs over the course of a year.

A sense of security and comfort I'm very particular about my shoes because how they make me feel is directly proportional to how well they work for me
5/5

br>br>In case you don't know, I'm a fan of Dr. Jerry Porter's structural correction method. He discusses what makes a good shoe in his book, The Owner's Manual For The Body. This shoe, in my opinion, satisfies the requirements set forth in his book. br>br>For this shoe, I've discovered that I need to remove the insoles and replace them with heel chips (on the inside). This raises my arch above the shoe's side-sole, allowing my feet to move almost as naturally as if I were walking barefoot. br>br>If I had one complaint, it would be that these shoes wear out in about two months, which is why I didn't give them a perfect 5 star rating.
