It's a tomato-red color rather than an orange. These are the best trail and beach running shoes I've ever owned, and I've been running for nearly 50 years.
MADE IN CHINA (date of purchase: February 22, 2021)
I didn't get my correct shoe size; my foot is a size 13, but I learned a long time ago that running shoes should be one size larger. As a result, the size 14 fits snugly but not too tightly on my feet, and my toes have just enough room to avoid feeling cramped.

I enjoyed the shoes and have worn them for walking two times. Once a week, twice a week, and once a month, respectively. All of my walks were no more than 2 miles long and took place primarily on a hike and bike trail. I was disappointed that the rubber sole did not last even 6 months after purchase (purchased in late February). It's time to try a different brand or style of shoe with a longer-lasting sole. I emailed the warranty department, which offers a two-year warranty on footwear. I'm looking forward to hearing back from them.
Right? Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the Salomon Speedcross series. Since the speedcross threes, I've been a devoted user. The issue is that the speedcross 3 have been criticized for being too cushioned. Because the speedcross 3 was way too cushiony and didn't provide enough support, the speedcross 4 was much less cushiony than the speedcross 3. I really liked them and thought the four were perfect, but they were a little too low on the heel and could cause your ankle to spring because of it. So, what do you think? They fixed the heel problem, and the Speedcross 5 had extremely high heels but no cushion at all. These things are tougher than you'd think; at first, I didn't think I'd broken them in, but I've put well over 150 kilometers on them and they're still rock hard. Personally, I prefer a bit more cushion. Thousands of times, I prefer the speedcross 4 to the speedcross 5. Apart from that, I paid 160 dollars for these babies, and they've been on sale for 90 dollars in some colors since yesterday. (I went with navy blue. ) It is a well-designed shoe with a lovely style. People pleaded with Salomon to give them less cushion and more support. I'd say it's a tad excessive.
I needed to replace my older Brooks Ghost GTX winter running shoes, and after doing some research and reading reviews, I decided on the newer Ghost GTX, the La Sportiva Kaptiva GTX, and the ASICS GT-2000. 2000 8 G- TX and the Speedcross 5 GTX are two of the most popular speedcross bikes on the market today. The Ghost and Asics were turned down because they were simply a regular running shoe with a Gore-Tex lining. I don't trust Gore-Tex because they didn't put in any extra toe or side protection from the elements, and I don't trust Gore-Tex because they didn't put in any additional toe or side protection from the elements. When exposed to the elements on a regular basis, Tex will last for a long time. Inside, the La Sportiva had a wading sock-like system that worked well for debris control but was too restrictive for winter use. This led to the Speedcross, and I've been very pleased with it after many miles of snow/trail/wet road running. The aggressive sole with widely spaced lugs has been really impressive and confidence building on the trail and snow, and surprisingly, is not noticeable when running on the road (not sure how well they will wear though). As a pronator, I was concerned about the neutral rather than supportive design, but I have had no issues. I've never seen a low-rise GTX running or trail shoe with such excellent water resistance. I have no reservations about running through inches of slush (while wearing running gaiters) because of the overall design, material, and DWR finish. Being a more trail-blazing kind of person I was surprised by how light they are and how little weight or flexibility penalty there is for road running while still feeling supportive on the trail. With all of these advantages, I don't mind if the sole wears out prematurely (which hasn't happened yet), as long as another pair is available when I need it.
Ha - I don't usually go out of my way to leave an Amazon review - But I'm really looking forward to talking about this shoe. I also enjoy promoting high-quality items. In Northwest Montana, I run approximately 5 miles per day on forest mountain single track trails. I've had the Speedcross GTX 3 and 4 for a while now. Both pairs of shoes are fantastic. br>br>The number five is superior, and I adore it. The sole is more rigid - As a result, you're not as aware of the rocks. It's a little higher in the back, which gives it a more secure feeling. It has incredible grip - mud and puddles, as well as loose rock - 100% trust. In my opinion, the Gortex version is the best option. My foot is narrow, so I sometimes wear a snug 9, but not always. With this one, I think 5 is a perfect fit. I went with the black phantom because it was the cheapest option at the time - I believe the price is $112. Normally, I prefer a brighter palette - However, I find it to be quite appealing. It has a more professional appearance and shows less mud. Solomon, I appreciate it. You've got it down to a tee.
These are fantastic shoes! They were recommended by a coworker as an all-around good shoe, and they have not disappointed. For work, I am on my feet for 10 hours a day, running through various obstacles such as water, mud, and mossy stone. e. g. , I've noticed a significant improvement in my running comfort and confidence in my ability to avoid slipping and falling on my buttocks. The only issue is that the side of the shoe is a little too tall or short for my ankle bones and rubs against them. If you're looking for a waterproof running shoe, I strongly suggest giving these a try.
This pair of shoes is incredible. I've never had a more comfortable pair of shoes on my feet. I have a couple of pairs of speedcross 3s and 4s that I still wear; these are very similar but have a better "tongue. " This is my first GTX purchase, and it has performed admirably in terms of keeping my feet dry.
For hiking, cycling, walking, and other activities, I use them everywhere. I even had a few games of basketball in them. They've accompanied me on trips all over the world (Burundi, Ecuador, Poland, Spain, Hawaii, and so on). ) because I like how light, durable, and waterproof (GTX only) they are. If I had to pick a flaw with them, it would be that the sole wears out quickly, so I go through a pair every 12 months or so. a year and a half That being said, I wear these 80% of the time when outside and active. I moved on from the XA Pro about 4 pairs ago to the Speedcross, because I like the lighter weight% I can't say enough good things about these shoes, as I feel compelled to try a new brand every year (and I do order and try on and wear a few pairs) - However, each time you return, you must purchase Salomon.
