Questions & Answers
Yes. It's a huge hit with my rabbits. Cat litter should never be used.
You'd go through it more quickly because it's litter. I'm not sure if it has an expiration date, but mine usually only lasts a few months at most. You're in good shape.
Yes, I've done it on a number of occasions. It can actually be flushed - At the very least, I've never had any problems, though I've never flushed too much at once.
There's no reason why it shouldn't be done! Ferrets are extremely sensitive to litter dyes and fragrances, and cat litter is far too dusty for them. I'm sure your hedgehog would love it.

Ferrets will love it. It's made of recycled paper pellets, which means there'll be less mess and tracking. BUT IT IS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! I've found better pellet litters (marketed for cats) that are much cheaper and have a lot less dust in the bottom of the bag. I've noticed an increase in dust and random scraps of recycled plastic over the last six months. Please read the entire recipe before putting it in the pan. Ferrets, on the other hand, don't seem to mind it, and it does a great job of absorbing urine.
This is what I did with my pet rats. It was less expensive, so I bought it. My roommate immediately expressed her displeasure with the odor. I'm unable to scoop the poop and must instead dispose of it. The litter lasted about two days for eight rats, compared to a month for half as much litter, and it wasn't absorbent or stuck to the poop. When they tried to bury their feces, it got strewn all over the place, forcing me to change the bedding. Maybe it's better for ferrets, but it didn't go over well with my rats. It didn't leave any dust, but that wasn't enough to justify the extra cost, time, and smell.
There isn't any assistance with odor management. There's nothing remarkable about this paper litter. For doing its job, it gets three stars. Do I, on the other hand, only use this product because Marshall's produces the best paper litter? It's the same as generic store brands like Petco or Petsmart, and I only buy it when it's on sale or as an add-on item. Cat paper litter is a good option if you want a solid paper litter with a little more fragrance. In the area of small animal stink, those have always provided more coverage.
I decided to give this litter a try after reading some of the reviews on Amazon. The new ferrets were digging and playing in the cat litter I was using, sneezing and coughing as a result, not to mention getting the litter all over the cage! Blech! They are not allowed to play in the Marshall Ferret Litter, and the odor is kept to a minimum. It's a little'scoopable,' and I only scoop the dirty litter every other day. When compared to kitty litter, I've even let it sit for THREE DAYS! br>br>I'm sold on this stuff, and I strongly suggest it for your furry friends. I only wish I'd known about this when we had our last pair of ferrets. It would have saved a lot of mess because we didn't cage those ferrets and had to put litter pans in almost every corner! Back then, we vacuumed a lot, but not anymore! br>br>It may appear strange, but it actually works better than traditional litter. It's incredible, but true.
Pick it up if it's significantly less expensive than yesterday's news. Pick up the previous day's news instead if it's close to the same price or even more. It's a more appropriate litter. br>br>In comparison to Yesterday's News, the biggest issue I noticed with this litter is the lack of odor control. Aside from that, it's a litter that's comparable to any other top-tier ferret-friendly litter. br>br>Some people have claimed that they use this more than yesterday's news, but I'm not sure if that is true; it's just too difficult to say. When it's wet, it's very dark, making it easy to see what needs to be cleaned up; however, as it dries, it returns to its original color, whereas yesterday's news puffs up and you can tell it needs to be tossed. br>br>So, is there any way you could go wrong with this? If the price is right, go ahead and purchase it. For the most part, it's similar to Yesterday's News.
My daughters do not sneeze or have any other respiratory problems as a result of using it. I appreciate that this product doesn't have a strong odor or dust.
I've been using this litter for about four years and have never considered switching to another brand. Amazon has the best price I've found on the internet, plus it comes with free 2-day shipping. I wouldn't shop anywhere else if they offered same-day shipping. This material absorbs liquids well and draws moisture from other materials, making cleanup a breeze. My only issue with it is that if you don't get to it quickly enough (maybe 2 days), it will start to disintegrate and become a mess to remove from the pan. This stuff produces almost no dust, and if you don't want to throw it away, you can flush small amounts of it. When your little dummy kicks it out of the litter pan and onto the floor of his cage or your carpet, it's easy to pick up. It meets my needs, and I'm sure it will meet the needs of others as well.
This litter was recommended to me by my local pet store, so I started using it. It possesses several characteristics that make it ideal for ferrets: br>br>To begin with, it is a non-profit organization. clumping litter is a type of litter that clumps together. Clumping litter can cause serious health problems in ferrets. It's also relatively dust-free (until the bottom of the bag), which helps keep my two little angels from sneezing as much. I also appreciate the fact that there are no perfumes to irritate them. As long as the litter is changed at least once a day, it still does a good job of absorbing odors. I also appreciate that the litter is simply pressed paper, which is about as environmentally friendly as litter gets. br>br>There is one more cool feature of this litter that, unfortunately, becomes a negative:br>br>They include a toy in the 10-pound bag. While this is nice, and my girls love getting new toys, this toy is occasionally a flavored chew toy. Flavored chew toys, unfortunately, do not last as long as litter. I'm not sure if it happened before it was shipped to me or after I opened and began using the litter, but the gift was a mass of mold when I found it. Plastic toys are great, but flavored chew toys are not a good idea for litter. I had to take one star off the review because of the toy selection. br>br>If I could request one change to this litter (aside from the obvious toy issue), I would request that the bag be resealable. Overall, this is a fantastic litter. br>br> I would recommend it to anyone who owns a ferret, and I'm sure it would work well with other animals as well.
