Questions & Answers

I understand that this is an all-natural product, but do the wood shavings contain any kind of fungicide or spray treatment?

The only competition is Aspen shavings; according to the package, I am very selective about what I feed my gerbils, and they seem to be happy with this bedding. When I do a full cage clean once a month, there is more orchard grass than aspen because they chew it up over time. br>br>It smells like Aspen, by the way. It's best to keep it in a cool, dry place, just like any other wood product. So-so garage, shed, or sweltering basement

Which of the bags is the largest?

The 3200 Cubic Inches bag of Kaytee Aspen Bedding is the largest.

Is it possible to grow oyster mushrooms with this product?

On YouTube, there's a guy who uses this to grow mushrooms.

Is there a smell to it, and is it effective at preventing Oder?

The scent is light and earthy. It's not overpowering in the least. It gives me a great deal of pleasure. It does a good job of controlling odors, but spot cleaning is still recommended on a daily basis.

Kaytee Aspen vs
4/5

Pet's Pick Aspen from Walmart Ready? Both of these aspens are excellent. It's largely a matter of personal preference for the dealer. br>br>Of the 20 pets I have, seven are snakes. I also have a large number of rats and mice, as well as other animals. I have 20 cages for my one-of-a-kind pet collection. Aspen, soil substrate, and bark are all things I need to keep track of. However, the focus of this review is on Aspen. br>br>I've had snakes for a long time and have always used Pet's Pick, which is a Walmart brand (hey, Walmart isn't all bad). br>br>I've always fed all of my snakes in their natural habitats; cage aggression is a myth if properly fed. br>br>Kaytee, this is something I've been experiencing lately. For a couple of months, at the very least. And I'm confident enough in my abilities to write a review on it based on my personal experiences. I purchased Kaytee's 52L bag. br>br>To put it another way, I am a foreigner, and English isn't my first language. Allow myself to be vulnerable. br>br>Kaytee is a pain to work with. It doesn't hold together as well as it should or as well as I had anticipated. As a result, it does not appeal to me. Due to the non-toxic nature of Kaytee aspen, I've had a few instances where my snakes ate it and got it stuck in their mouth. sticky- nature that is clumpy. It's similar to a "free-for-all" situation. a bothersome roamer I had to pry the mouths of a few of my snakes open in order to grab large chunks of Kaytee Aspen before they swallowed it. And yes, my snakes are cool enough to let me do that. br>br>Pet's Pick aspen is hard to come by. Because this stuff isn't as fluffy and gets everywhere I don't want it to, my snakes don't rearrange the entire cage when they move around. This stuff never gets stuck in the mouths of my snakes when they eat. Ever. It has never happened before. When my snake constricts, the aspen does not even get lifted up. This aspen has a natural tendency to fall to the ground. Love it. br>br>Pet's Pick aspen comes in a 24L bag, but for an extra $5, it can be expanded to about 72L. I paid $10 for Kaytee's 52L bag. That's all there is to it for the number 99. 52L. There will be no growth. br>When it comes to pet health, money and liter size are irrelevant. You shouldn't have a pet if you only buy cheap items for it. However, I find the Pet's Pick to be far more useful and less bothersome. br>br>I suppose because Pet's Pick is manufactured stuck together and expands only when broken up, it has a tendency to stick together more than Kaytee, which is born spaced apart, shipped, and opened the same way. br>br>In terms of scent, both are pleasant. br>br>In terms of texture, Kaytee irritates and roughens my hands more than Pet Pick's, which can't be good for my snakes if I can feel the coarseness right away. br>br>In terms of health, which oils and materials each is made of, the facility that produces them, and all of the technical details. I'm not sure. My snakes have always been healthy when I've used Pet's Picks. My exotic veterinarian even compliments me on how well I care for my snakes. That concludes my assessment. br>br> Mia, I appreciate it.

MITES AND FLEAS WERE GIVEN TO MY HAMSTER
3/5

Because paper bedding becomes quite expensive over time, I decided to switch to aspen bedding for my hamster; however, only a few days after doing so, I noticed a swarm of small brown bugs crawling around in his cage, and my hamster was scratching like crazy. I had to throw everything in his enclosure away when I took him to the vet for treatment. What was supposed to save me money ended up costing me a vet bill, as well as the cost of replacing everything in his cage and treating the rest of my house to ensure that the disease didn't spread to my other pets. It was a complete disaster.

Almost perfect, but with poor packaging! For my Roborovski hamster, I purchased this
5/5

It's my first hammy, so I wanted Aspen bedding with Kaytee Clean and Cozy on top for added comfort. br>br>I went with the 3200 square foot option, and as you can see in the photos, the chips are larger but soft! There are no sharp objects in this collection. However, there were a couple of pieces of bark. There's nothing serious going on! br>br>The tank measures 36 by 18 by 16 inches and is a 40 gallon breeder. If you're wondering how much aspen you'll need, it took about half of the bag. br>br>This is a good burrowing material that holds its shape well. To aid in this, I am purchasing additional bedding. It also has a pleasant odor. I plan to clean it once every few weeks, with daily spot cleanings in between. br>br>This bedding has a woodsy scent that is a little heavy at first, but after about 20 to 45 minutes, the heavy scent fades to a fresh but not overpowering scent. There is only one issue: br>br> The packaging is a complete nightmare. It was packed in a large box without any bubble wrap, plastic, or other protective materials. The package was punctured and filthy when it arrived, as you can see in the photos.

Read the reviews before you buy
5/5

I'm guessing it varies by season and batch, but the bag I got was dust-free, extremely soft to the touch, and bug-free so far. When I switched to this, I kept a close eye on my hamster; there were no sneezes, coughs, or scratching! It doesn't stick to his fur or anything else, so he's content to burrow in it. The scent is pleasant and mellow, and it reminds me of pencil shavings. Where we keep it, the bag has no odor (hopefully keeping bugs away). The $7 bag was bigger than I expected; I intended to use it for a short time before moving on to "bulk," but it'll last a long time for the money (single dwarf hamster). Experiment with different depths to see what your hammy prefers. Mine doesn't care for a very deep burrow (I think he's lazy), but others prefer a 6-foot deep burrow. As a result, it may be depleted before we use it. br>However, I have no complaints; it is soft enough to handle barehanded, and there are no splinters.

They might die if you buy
3/5

My rabbit is having trouble breathing and could die as a result of this. I've always bought the store brand and have never had a problem, but this stuff appears to be different. br>I can't believe they put an animal's health in jeopardy for the sake of profit!.

Mites! This was purchased for my hamster, and we are currently fighting mites
3/5

My cat has caught the mites from my hamster, and my other two cats are in danger as a result of an expensive visit to the vet. The price was 72 dollars. I have to take her back to the vet next week for a second treatment, which will cost me another 72 dollars. 00, after which I must schedule an appointment for my cat. It's costing me hundreds of dollars and causing my pets pain all because I wanted a less expensive bedding. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on vet visits, don't buy!.

When I put this bedding in my hamster's cage, I had an allergic reaction to it
3/5

For my hamster, I've always used Aspen bedding, which I get from my local pet store. I purchased this bedding on Amazon due to a move. My entire body broke out in hives as I was placing it in my hamster's cage. It made me wonder what was sprayed on the Aspen chips, as well as whether the bedding was safe for my hamster. I will never buy this bedding again, and I strongly advise against it.
