Not sure. I have an 8-cubic-foot cage, and the bag has been used about six times.

How did you find out it had mites, Amber M? I've been purchasing this brand for a year and enjoy it, but after reading your comment, I'm very concerned! I assumed it was normal for my four rats to scratch constantly. I'm no longer convinced! I need to get some new bedding, but I'm not sure if I should get this right now.
We have a smaller cage, perhaps one foot by two feet. This will last approximately one month. Puts approximately 2- 3 inches at the bottom It does not, as it claims, absorb odor. She must still clean the cage once a week due to the odor.

This is a paper that you should not buy! I've had no problems with this brand before, but THIS one had EXTREME odor control and the blue pieces caused a severe allergic reaction in my hamster, including a staph infection. She deteriorated further after spending two nights at the vet, and we were forced to put her down today. Miss Brownie was only one year old at the time. She was the sweetest hamster I'd ever met! What she went through and the pain she experienced as a result of this paper disgusts me!.
My guinea pig has an unpleasant odor. I've tried other beddings, but this stuff actually controls odors and he doesn't kick it out of his cage when he plays, which I notice because his habitat is in my room. I've tried other beddings, but this stuff actually controls odors and he doesn't kick it out of his cage when he plays! It's nice and soft, and it absorbs a lot of moisture. I would highly recommend this bedding to anyone with a small pet, and I will be purchasing more in the future.
This bedding is what I use in that area, and it has made a significant difference in our lives. It is much easier to clean, and the guinea pigs enjoy it. Because they only urinate in that area, washing the fleece bedding has been greatly reduced. This product does not have a scent, which is something we like. However, I don't think we'll be able to keep this product going for more than four days before we have to replace the entire kitchen pan. Perhaps if you used this bedding for an entire cage, it would last longer, but I've never tried it and can't say for sure. If that helps, our guinea pig kitchen pan measures 28 by 28 inches, and their entire cage measures 28 by 70 inches. We have two large boars, and the bedding must be replaced every four days because they only urinate in that area. Having said that, I would not use another product because none of the others we've tried have performed as well as this bedding. If you haven't already, we recommend creating a dedicated guinea pig kitchen area.
I've looked everywhere for the best in terms of odor, disposal ease, absorbency, and safety for him. This is by far the best! Anyone who owns a rabbit is well aware of how unpleasant their urine smells and how sensitive they are to everything. This does not irritate him in any way, and I can leave him alone for a long weekend. I did test it to see how long it can stay in the litter box before emitting a strong odor in his room, and the answer is about three days. I don't scoop his litter box; instead, I completely replace it every other day. It's very simple; it simply dumps out, and there are no clumps in the bottom that I need to scrape out. It is extremely absorbent. Anyone would benefit from this. I have a male, and his father is a full-blooded Flemish Giant, so I go through a lot of stuff in even the biggest litter box I can find. Litter boxes only go so big with the grate on top for rabbits, so I go through a lot of stuff in even the biggest one I can find.
It reeked like hell. A total of 99 items are included in the package. dust free % This product created more dust on the cage's furniture than any other bedding we've tried. This is a product that I would never recommend.
I've had Octavia, my rat, for well over a year and have always used the same bedding. This is the same brand as the one above, but without the blue pieces. When I read the reviews, I came across one that was very disturbing, claiming that the pet rat had contracted a staph infection, but I decided to buy it anyway because Amazon didn't have the bedding I wanted. I changed her bedding to the new stuff the week after I got mine. It was the first time I had ever used new bedding, and it was fine for about two days before I noticed her breathing was labored and she wasn't drinking much. She began to deteriorate rapidly after that day. As you can see in the video, the area around her mouth and eyes was dried out and irritated. From warm baths to putting her in her old cage for an hour while I showered in the hopes of steaming out whatever issues she was having. Nothing could have improved things. Her breathing became more labored, and she appeared to be choking due to her desperate attempts to breathe. As I previously stated, she refused to drink anything, and I didn't see her eat much. She remained at the top level of her three-level cage (away from the bedding at the bottom), reaching through the cage and attempting to break free. I also tried to look for a blockage in her small airways in case she was choking on something, but there was nothing visible as far as I could see (despite her best efforts to stop me). I couldn't let her out because I was afraid she'd get lost in my apartment. She escaped her cage and vanished before I could get her proper medical attention, and I haven't been able to locate her since. I'm guessing she was so miserable and in pain that she found a safe haven in my apartment and died. Mind you, as I previously stated, I've had her for over a year and she has never attempted to squeeze herself through the bars in the manner in which she did. It was heartbreaking to watch her suffer, and I couldn't do anything to help her. IF YOU WANT YOUR RAT TO LIVE, DO NOT BUY THIS BEDDING.
Because of the odor, I was changing the bedding once a week for my single guinea pig. When I first heard the term "extreme odor control," I thought it sounded like something I'd like to try. Unfortunately, it did not perform as well as the regular Kaytee product in terms of odor control, so I am replacing all of the bedding in 4-star hotels. Because of the odor, I had to wait 5 days. I looked at the guarantee, but I'll have to return the product to the manufacturer for a refund and cover the shipping costs. I bought two bags of the product and tried them both, but the results were the same, so I'm switching to a less expensive and more effective product.
