Questions & Answers

Why is it so expensive now when it was only 12 dollars before?

I wouldn't suggest it for small animals. It's full of large splinters.

Is this something that hamsters could use?

I've had no problems using it for hamsters. People have been using treated pine bedding for hamsters for decades, and it is only now, with the recent influx of expensive paper bedding, that the internet has gone berserk with warnings about hamster bedding, particularly bedding that is less expensive than paper. This is bedding that I would not hesitate to use. My hamsters live as long as paper-bedded hamsters, and I can afford to provide them with deep enough bedding to tunnel as much as they want.

Is it safe to use pine shavings in a bird cage's bottom?

It's what I use in my chicken coop.

This is a question for people who live in the real world. Is it safe for macaws to use this product? shavings of pine trees ?

No clue. They came in handy when I was training a puppy.

Pine Shavings are becoming increasingly difficult
3/5

As you can see, there are a lot of sharp edges. Pointy wood chunks were discovered in the bag of Living World Pine Shavings, which is unusual but has become more frequent in recent months. In addition, I've seen orange plastic twine and black plastic twine in the bag in the past. blue spray paint on the lumber wood chunks I'm not sure where the company gets its wood from, but the quality is generally good, with the exception of a few batches. Despite some issues with this company's pine shavings, I prefer it to my local store because the sawdust is slightly more absorbent than competitors. It would be fantastic if the company could address their wood grinder machine. Keeping the plastic twine out of the bags is a good idea. br>br>NOTE: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be Eight scoops of litter were used to collect the wood chunks in this photo. Some are extremely sharp and potentially dangerous to pets, as they can splinter their feet or become embedded in their fur. DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

love it
4/5

I use it as a litter box for my pet pigs. Large chips do not absorb as well as fine chips, resulting in a pee odor. These small, fluffy chips are ready to soak up as much pig pee as they can. I used to go to the pet store, but now that Covid has taken over, they're rationing wood chips, which was the only reason I went. As a result, they would force me to drive there every day for a single bag. Every month, I use up to eight. I started looking for a better option after all the wasted gas and constant lies the store told me. While this may cost me an extra $8 per bag, it saves me a lot of wear and tear on my truck, gas, and time because I can order it online and have it delivered to my door. There's no need for me to listen to the clerk lie about shaving wood. So, the money that would have gone to that pet store is now going to this seller, because this is a necessity in my home. With these chips, I'm as content as a pig in a blanket, and my baby booper is as well. As with the "aspen" bedding, these aren't reclaimed pine. There is no reclaim junk in this mix because it is a real tree that has been shredded, baked, and bagged. Another factor that influenced my decision was the fact that this brand bakes their chips, ensuring that my bag of pine chips is free of unwanted visitors. While the price may appear to be higher than at the pet store, when you consider the big picture, it ends up being less expensive in the long run. My pig will be happier if I spend more time with him instead of going to the pet store. A happy pig makes for a happy household. PIGGIE APPROVED! br>br>PIGGIE APPROVED PIGGIE APPROVED PIGGIE APPROVED br>br>update: br>br>update: br>br>update: This seller, on the other hand, has begun to restrict purchases. So off to tractor supply, where I discovered that I could get the same thing in larger bags for even less money, and that I could buy an entire pallet at once if I wanted. Now that I only have one pet pig and everyone is making it so difficult to keep his litter box clean (there are a lot of us potbelly pig owners out there, and those of us who keep them in the house are willing to blow as much money as we can and do whatever we have to for our little fat babies), I have no choice but to buy 8 cubic foot bags of fine shavings from tractor supply (they get cheaper the more you buy at tractor supply! They also come through on time. DISCLAIMER BELOWbr>br>if my review gets deleted, whatever, amazon has been taking down honest reviews and leaving up the fake ones. I'm not a professional, an author, or anything like that; I'm just a person with a pet pig who lives in the house and sleeps on the bed and needs somewhere to poop and pee that isn't my floor (he's very good at potty training).

My guinea pig will not even go near it
3/5

I bought this large pack of pine shaving to try to replace my paper bedding after watching the LA guinea pig rescue videos on YouTube. First and foremost, prior to purchasing this item, I read some reviews about the wood sticks in the shavings, and I can confirm that this is correct, and that they could be dangerous to your little angels. The pine shavings, on the other hand, have a particularly strong odor. I assumed it was just the nature of pine shaving, but my guinea pigs simply avoided the bedding and refused to walk on it at all (I have a hybrid cage with both fleece and bedding). I just don't think such a odor is normal for a guinea pig, and I'd rather spend a little more money on paper bedding than this one.

It's not a good idea to use it to potty train a puppy
3/5

We're using pine shavings to help us potty train our puppy. We had a large and fluffy bag from Petsmart; this one is small and pellet-like, and it would have worked if there hadn't been HUGE pieces of wood shards. So we couldn't use it because we're also working on teaching the puppy not to eat and chew on everything he sees. If we use these shavings, he'll be eating pine shards, which will be disastrous for our bank account. This is fantastic for a bunny or hamster, but not so much for a rambunctious puppy.

Rats will love it! I really like this bedding for my rats because I breed them, so cleaning them takes a long time, but because the pieces are so small, it's easy to clean up with a shock vac without it getting clogged
5/5

Two more bags were just purchased. It's Dusty, according to the bad, but it doesn't seem to bother my rats.

The incorrect bedding has been provided! I used to have this bedding, the pine, and I really liked it

So, of course, I bought it for my guinea pigs once more. This time, for $23, I got a bag of Aspen, which costs about half as much and does not work as well: (I am extremely disappointed).

This is perfect for my coop with chickens
5/5

This is a fantastic product with a large bag and excellent quality. This is what I use in my hen house under the roosts. It has excellent odor control and is extremely soft.

More than that
5/5

Rather than buying small bags of bedding, I like that this comes in bulk and lasts a long time.
