Questions & Answers
It is, indeed, odorless. It's entirely made of pine and is extremely light.
Because it's such a contentious subject, you'll get as many responses as you ask. I spent 12 years working at a zoo, where I learned that low-income people can have a positive impact on the environment. As long as the birds don't eat it, untreated pine is fine for them. Certainly not dusty shavings, treated pine, cedar, or redwood. I've used untreated pine for parakeets, canaries, and other small birds. Finches have been around for a long time, and there has never been a problem. However, many people would argue that wood chips should be avoided at all costs.
Selected User Reviews For Living World Pine Shavings, 1220-Cubic Inch
I chose the Living World Pine Shavings over my usual bedding because I was already ordering food from Amazon and needed to meet the minimum order requirement. This bedding is unlikely to be ordered again. I usually use two packages of this size of bedding to fill my 40 gallon tank according to my gerbils' preferences. Due to the small chip size of the bedding, it would have taken at least another package to fill it to the level I usually do. The gerbils quickly dug the bedding out of one side so they could have their preferred bedding depth, leaving one side of the tank bare (which is why I would add another bag if I were using this). Overall, I would not do it again because of the cost savings. It looks and smells like any other pine shavings, and it seems to hold off odor as well as my usual brand or any of the others I've used in the past. The only criticism I have is the small chip size, which doesn't seem to fill the same amount of space as my usual brand. If you don't mind the small chip size, this is a great deal; however, with two picky gerbils, it wasn't worth it for me.
I bought it in the hopes of making my life easier. I already have my guinea pigs' paper bedding delivered, so why not combine the two? Wood chunks, bark, and splinter pieces measuring four inches long were included in the package. These could be found all over the bag. Yes, I threw it away. The second package had already been thrown away. I'm happy to be back to buying pine shavings from Walmart. Living World should be ashamed of themselves for their lack of quality assurance.
This item comes at a fantastic price. It has a pleasant scent and is fluffy rather than dusty.
It's a teeny-tiny piece of equipment. 9 packs of approximately the same size as a roll of toilet paper.
Demasido, it does not die in the jail.
This is an excellent product at an excellent price, and I am extremely pleased with it.
I'm extremely happy.
