I thoroughly cleaned his feet, donned rubber gloves, and packed his hoof, which was infected with Thrush. After that, I sprinkled baby powder on the Artimud to prevent dirt from adhering to it. For him, it was very effective. YAY.
I'm a big fan of this, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. It prevents manure from getting into all of the cracks and crevices. It dries quickly and adheres well to the surface. I'm hoping that this will help my foundered horse avoid abcesses yet again. It smells like it'll kill the microorganisms, and clay has a natural drying effect; it dried out the skin on my hands, but knowing it was doing the same thing to the deep fissures made me love it even more.
It's made of clay, has a peppermint scent, and isn't sticky or messy. I would even recommend this if your horse has trush because it really helps a lot and is well worth the money.
I fill cracks and any other areas where I'm trying to keep things from getting worse. It lasts for 2 days on average. I've found that this is the best. The others are a little too watery.
Artimud came highly recommended by several other farriers, so I purchased him. Its non- A little goes a long way with caustic (natural antimicrobial ingredients), which has a strong but pleasant eucalyptus scent. It can be used safely with other products to help horses with Central Sulci thrush by drying out the infected area.
It functions admirably. After rinsing the open spots with apple cider vinegar, it dries out a little but still covers the hoof perfectly.
It's a great way to get rid of white lines and prevent them. My horse's hooves are full of thrush.
I was skeptical at first, but it's worked wonders for my horse's health.
