It hardens into a rubbery surface and adheres to the hoof's surface. It's probably not a bad idea to boot or wrap, but you're under no obligation to do so. It's a fantastic item.
Yes, - It crams into the central sulcus or collateral grooves - So, unless you have a full pad under your shoe, it won't make a difference - Then simply pack it in before putting the pad on.
Google search is what it's called. the conversion from milliliters to ounces 17 oz = 500 mL
It's basically zinc oxide, the same stuff you'd put on your baby's bottoms. It needs to pack in the thrush area, and my trimmer advised me to use it every three days or so. It does not harden in the same way that cement does. I'm not sure when it'll start working- Depending on how much thrush you have and how careful you are with your packing.

It applies like putty but doesn't require much reworking (a little goes a long way). However, the immediate results on cracked toes and chipped walls have encouraged me to continue using the clay into the fall and possibly into the winter. When the horses come in from the field in the morning, I use this phrase: They spend 10 hours in stalls with the clay in place before being turned out, and I believe the clay keeps the hoof moist while also preventing infection. It's also great to put in a hoof boot to treat a bruised sole.
Although I'm not sure if it cures or prevents thrush, it appears to be a healthier alternative to a hoof full of excrement!.
As a professional farrier, I use the product on a daily basis to treat and prevent white line disease and thrush in most hooves.
My barefoot farrier had recommended it to me. It surpassed my expectations in every way.
Thrush has left the building! It is sufficiently sticky to remain in place.
When firmly pressed into the central sulcus and collateral grooves, this product will remain in place for up to a week, even in muddy PNW weather. It works wonders for thrush treatment. br>.
The paste is simple to apply and stays in the hoof all day, even when it's raining!.
In a week, Thrush will be gone.
