Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Diet | Small-Breed Adult Grain-Free Dry Dog Food | Protein Options Include Salmon, Duck, Chicken or Beef

However, I am now switching my dog to a different brand due to quality control issues at the manufacturer, which is why I am downgrading my rating to one star. br>br>A few months ago, I opened a bag to find a large quantity of food pieces with fish bones protruding from them. These were razor-sharp and potentially lethal to dogs. Look at the image. They could easily cut flesh, such as gums or the inside of the digestive tract, or choke people. The bones were up to a quarter inch long, not including the parts that were still stuck in the food. After contacting the manufacturer, the bag was replaced. Despite the fact that they claimed to be aware of a faulty batch, no official recall was issued. If they were aware of the problem, why did they not issue a recall? br>br>Because the food had been good in the past, I tried the replacement bag, which worked fine, but the bag after that did not. There are numerous sharp bones. From batch to batch, the date code and plant code are different. I'm sorry, but I can't recommend this food any longer. br>br>My original 5-star review was as follows: br>br>When we adopted our dog at the age of seven, we decided to keep her on the food that the rescue organization had provided her, especially because we wanted to give her a natural food rather than one that was full of artificial ingredients. Here are the benefits and drawbacks of this food, as well as our thoughts on the recent FDA report on grain-free foods (which included natural balance). Advantages: br>br> br> A short list of all-natural, nutrient-dense ingredients. There are no fillers in this product. br> br> There are no artificial colors or flavors in this product. br> Our dog, an 11-pound chihuahua/min pin mix, loves the "Small Breed Bites. " br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- It is more expensive than many other brands, but I believe it is well worth the investment. We keep track of sales to account for this. br>br>Recent FDA Report: The FDA recently reported a possible link between grain-free foods and canine dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), and listed several brands as having an increase in DCM reports in breeds not normally associated with it. However, the majority of cases reported to the FDA came after the agency announced it was looking into it. Moreover, some breed organizations alerted their members to the potential problem and encouraged them to report it. As a result, it's unclear whether there's an increase in actual dcm cases or just an increase in dcm *reports*. Furthermore, there are no genuine scientific studies (i. e. , with appropriate control groups, and so on) have yet to be carried out. People who feed grain-free diets to their dogs have been told to report cases of dcm to the FDA, which will undoubtedly increase the number of cases of the disease linked to grain-free diets. So, should you be concerned because it was a biased request from the start? I'll keep an eye on the situation as the FDA investigates it further, but for now, I'm going to keep feeding our dog the same food.

Until now, I've had no problems with them. br>In the last two shipments, there have been strange pointy Sharp bone-shaped objects. I'm not sure if that's normal or how the dry food is made because there are particles inside many of the kibbles (as shown in the photos attached). My dog, on the other hand, could easily choke on this or be pierced by the sharp particle protruding from it! This is extremely dangerous! br>I'm curious about this! We don't keep dry food for more than a month, so I'm confident there's nothing growing inside the kibbles. What is being added to these products to allow them to be manufactured in this manner!.

This is the third time I've purchased this food for my yorkie, who has been on it for over a year. Until now, I'd never had an issue. Because it's dog food, the smell is unpleasant to begin with, but it had a strong rancid odor when I opened the bag. I assumed it was just me until my dog refused to touch his water bowl. He would sniff the bowl and walk away when I placed it in front of him. I was unable to persuade him to consume any food. He got a new bag from the store and is happy with it. It's still a fantastic product; it was just a bad batch.

My Yorkie is suffering from pancreatitis and could have IBD. Throughout his 11 years with us, he's had a lot of stomach problems. We feed an RX food (fish and potato based), but we wanted an alternative in case we needed to run to the store and get something, or if the RX food wasn't available, etc. In any case, we thought we found a good option in NB fish and sweet potato. He liked it because it was low in fat and tasty. I did notice that many of the kibbles had small "white specks" in them, but I assumed that was just how the food was supposed to be. But this is the final straw: multiple sharp shards were discovered in the small breed kibble, which were far too large. I don't feel comfortable feeding this food to my son, especially since he has issues. It's not worth the risk. I can't imagine this going into his gums or him swallowing it, which is unacceptable in my opinion, and I'm disappointed that this brand is no longer an option for us (we also feed the treats, but have never had a problem with those). I'm not sure if I'll keep buying this brand. ) I think I'll stick with Royal Canin, which has a lot of science behind it and solid quality control measures in place (I used to be one of those anti-Royal Canin people). People, we were on RX food until we needed it, and it worked!.

We've been feeding this exact brand and flavor of dog food to our dog for the past 5 years. My dog started having diarrhea after they changed the formula, and he needed to go to the bathroom every two hours. 3 hr (includes 2 a. m. and 5 a. m. ) We switched to an easy-to-digest vet formula, which he consumed for a week. I gave him one serving of this dog food to make sure it wasn't a virus, and he started having diarrhea again. The rest of the dog food has been thrown away, and we would not recommend it to anyone. Since switching to Fromm's, our dog's bowel movements have become more regular.

NOT A GENUINE PRODUCT. BUY THIS FOOD AT YOUR OWN RISK! It isn't the genuine article. The kibble has an odd shape and color. My maltese, who has severe allergies to grains and all proteins except fish, has been eating this brand of food for many years. He's been throwing up, has diarrhea, and is sluggish since you fed him this. I'm keeping an eye on him to see if he needs to be taken to the vet. I went to my favorite pet store and purchased a new bag, which he is currently devouring. That's when I realized just how bad the food is! I'm also reporting it to Amazon because it's not the real deal. This food has no idea what's in it!.

Duck and Potato Be wary of bags that appear to be identical. For over a year, my dog has been eating Natural Balance's "Duck and Potato," and it has helped her scratch less due to allergies. "Potato and Duck," which I purchased by accident, appears to be unique. It's not something she'll eat. She was happy again after I reordered the one with "Duck" first.
