No, I do not believe that is true. The vet told us we needed puppy food for a large breed (and yours will be larger than a lab) when we had a lab. If you don't feed them the large breed food, they'll grow too quickly and develop joint and tendon problems later in life.

There's no way of knowing for sure, I suppose. Our golden retriever puppy, on the other hand, has been on this feed since she was 6 months old and is now almost 14 months old. She's in good health, with a lustrous coat, bright eyes, and a high level of activity. We've also had to purchase a couple of small bags from a pet store, and the food looks and smells exactly like the food I get delivered from Amazon. br>I think we're in for a real treat. I hope this information is useful to you in making your decision.

They were both fed expensive foods. My cat Oreo was 18 years old when she succumbed to kidney disease. Years before we had to put her down, my min pin fell off the back of a chair, injuring her spine. Last month, I decided that no more purebred dogs were in my future and adopted the sweetest rescue puppy. Unless someone could persuade me otherwise, I'm not buying any more specialty foods. I have a background in healthcare and have spent a lot of time researching food. After consulting with my veterinarian, I decided that Purina One was the best option for my dogs. There is no need for canned or "fresh" food. Consider how long pets were able to survive without all of these specialty foods. The market was the only thing that had changed, so spend that money on toys!.
After a neighbor and a veterinarian informed me that there was a link between grain-free and grain-free dog food, I purchased this brand. Free foods are linked to a higher risk of heart disease in dogs (even those with a low risk). So I switched to this because it was one of the brands the vet recommended because it has certified veterinarians and nutritionists working on the formulations to ensure a healthy and happy puppy. This has been a hit with my dog since I introduced it to her! br>br>In some reviews, people complain that the food made their dogs sick, but they don't explain why (allergies, expired food, improper storage, etc. ) and instead criticize the brand/seller. If you believe the food is making your dog sick, speak with your veterinarian about the possible cause(s) and, if necessary, switch brands. Certain brands or ingredients may not be suitable for your dog and may cause them to become ill for a variety of reasons. Simply use your best judgment to make sure you're feeding your dog the right food: )br>br>*There is also a P. Purina Proplan Puppy has changed their packaging and I believe the formulation as well. For those who don't know or don't care to look at the amazon descriptions/pictures, purina proplan puppy has changed their packaging and I believe the formulation as well. This isn't a "fake brand," so don't get your hopes up. The company recently made some changes, so compare the old and new ingredients to see if your dog is okay with them.
This is a product I would never buy again. It was suggested by our veterinarian, and I had read positive reviews online, so I decided to try it. Our puppy has now reached the age of ten months. After 8 months of her throwing up, having bloody stool, being thoroughly examined, turning her nose up at her food, and us continuing to change flavors or disguise the food, she is finally feeling better. She eventually became sick and stopped eating. I finally awoke and switched her meals. She is so happy now that she eats all of her food without hesitation, plays like a puppy again, and has normal vowel movements after only three days. I'm sorry I didn't change sooner, but the vet didn't think it was her food, and I didn't think it was either. Now I'm certain it was. The agony isn't worth it.
I didn't notice her problems until she lost a lot of weight, vomited and pooped uncontrollably, and finally peed blood after three weeks of taking this. She is now on kidney medication, despite the fact that she is only 9 months old. She had no problems prior to eating this food, so be cautious!.
Purina Pro Plan Focus puppy was advertised on the package. However, while the package contained Purina Pro Plan puppy food, it did not contain Purina Pro Plan Focus puppy food. I compared the ingredients on our current "Focus" empty bag and the one that arrived, and they were not the same. In addition, instead of only English, the labels were in English and French. br>I have faith in Purina and their products. I didn't like the fact that the retailer sent a similar but not identical product.
We decided to give the 34 lb. bag a try after getting tired of buying overpriced smaller bags. Take a look at Amazon and see if it's something you'd like to try. We noticed one of our puppies vomit after eating after two days. We had two puppies vomit the next day. We assumed they'd gotten themselves into something in the yard and didn't give it much thought. One was still vomiting a week later, and both of them were suffering from diarrhea. We've never had an issue with the smaller bags from the pet store, so we ended up throwing out 3/4 of a 34 pound bag. Place the bag in the bin. Good luck with that.
My three- This is one of the things that my month old pomeranian puppy enjoys. He's a picky eater who refuses to eat certain snacks, and he became committed after taking a heartworm disease pill. He would still run to eat these kibbles even after I started giving him snacks. I'm the only one who has given him food. This is because it's what my breeder fed him before I got him, but I like that he likes it and it's not some cheap, unhealthy dog food. It gives me a lot of bang for my buck, in my opinion.
One of them was chewing on a small piece of sharp rock today, and because I am a neat freak, I had no idea where it came from. And, as a result of the potty training, I've been cleaning the floor on a daily basis (on my hands and knees on the floor). So it was perplexing to see my puppy scavenging a sharp 1cm-wide piece of rock. Then I looked in the food bowl and discovered another small rock strewn about among the kibbles. That's when I realized the small rock fragments came from the kibble bag! What?.
