My dogs both got sick when I started ordering from Amazon two months ago, so either something changed in the food or Amazon is getting bad product. They've been eating it for years with no problems.

This blend caused my Labrador retriever to gain too much weight; she had previously been on Hills Science Adult Large Breed Light. I decided it was time to switch to a senior blend as she grew older and maintained her weight. Since then, I've started her on Hill's Science Adult Perfect Weight to help her lose weight.
It appeared to be the same thing to me. We have golden doodles who are 7 and 10 years old. When we switched to Amazon for their food, they had no issues. It has the same appearance and scent as the mature 6 we got from Chow Hound.

I'm sorry, but I had to delete my previous 5-star review. This is a 2015 review that is no longer valid. The formula, as well as the packaging, has recently changed. For dog food, the previous version of this product smelled quite good. This new version has an unpleasant odor to it. If my dog still liked the smell, I could probably deal with it, but she doesn't. She's become increasingly resistant to eating it over time. It's gotten to the point where I have to add some low-sodium beef broth to the bowl just to get her to eat it. She slurps the broth and chews only a few pieces of kibble at this point. I then have to hold the bowl under her nose several times throughout the day, encouraging her to eat a little more each time until she finishes everything. br>br>It's a shame, because I've always used this brand and variety for my large-breed senior dogs. I credited their longevity to the larger kibble size, which encouraged chewing. We've been using this food for the past four years, and it's also what our veterinarian feeds his dogs. In the last few months, something has shifted. My dog stopped eating, which took me a while to notice because we leave her food out all day for her to eat whenever she wants. She had lost a significant amount of weight, and I noticed she was only eating a small amount of food and throwing some of it away. She became so thin that I took her to the vet to have her teeth checked, thinking something was wrong, but her teeth were fine, so I switched her to a different food, and she is now eating normally and slowly regaining weight. I came here to see what other reviewers have said in the last few months. I'm not sure if it was just a bad batch, but I'm canceling my subscription and replacing it with something else right now. I'm leaving this review for others who might be going through the same thing and are baffled as to why their dog won't eat it all of a sudden.
Since he was a puppy, I've fed my 9-year-old lab science diet, and I've always recommended it to anyone who asked. My dog has always been healthy, trim, and had a nice coat, which I've always attributed to this brand of dog food. Then something unexpected happened. With the new plastic Velcro (which is resealable? ) bag came a new (and, to be honest, overpowering) odor. Because I keep my food in a Rubbermaid tote, I don't have to worry about odor. The main issue is that my Labrador has suddenly become unwilling to eat. I used to have to command him to eat because he would wag his tail and drool while I was pouring his food. He used to eat two cups per meal in about three bites, but now he picks and rejects pieces from the bowl with caution. He vomits more frequently now that the "new look" "new smell" food has arrived, and he doesn't seem to enjoy what used to be his favorite time of day. I'm not sure what went wrong with this formula, but I'm going to have to shop for a new dog food brand for the first time in nine years.
This brand is recommended by my veterinarian, but it causes my dog to scratch and chew her paws. The formula appears to have changed, based on other reviews. Cheaper ingredients have risen to the top of the list, while more expensive ingredients have fallen to the bottom, reducing the amount of food in the meal. SHAME ON HILL'S FOR CHEAPENING THEIR DOG FOOD IN ORDER TO EARN MONEY FROM OUR DOGS! I'm informing my veterinarians (4 of them in the practice) about the differences, and I'm telling my friends NOT TO BUY HILL'S!.
For years, I've been using Science Diet with my best friend, Hemingway, a boxer pitbull mix. He's never been a big fan of bow opuses and eats whenever he wants. The doctors always said he appeared to be in a healthy weight range. I noticed a change in the size and packaging of the kibbles sometime in 2019. Hemi started skipping meals as well. He's eating again now that I switched to a different brand. My dog doesn't like whatever they changed in the formula; I've been trying to get rid of the last 33lb bag for a month, and he eats around the Science Diet food.
