They aren't small bites; I once ordered them and they were quite small. I'd say these are typical dog food bites in size.
Selected User Reviews For Hill's Science Diet Dry Dog Food, Adult 1-6
This time I bought the same brand of dog food, but the recipe had changed, so I switched from small to medium kibble. I mixed the old and new in a 50/50 ratio to prepare my dog for the transition, and all he did was throw it up. I only received the food bag on Tuesday, and it's now Thursday. Last night and today, my dog has been feeling much better. It is not going to be eaten by her. She selects the stale food. departs from the new Is it possible for you to assist me? So, what should I do now?.
Only three stars because of a potential manufacturing error, not because of Amazon. I've been a subscribe and save participant for over a year. My most recent order consisted of extremely small bites. Except for this most recent order, this is for a large breed dog who has always had large bites. When I contacted Amazon, they were extremely helpful and promptly placed a new order for me. This, too, was a case of small bites. So I'm assuming it's a manufacturing flaw, such as incorrect bagging. This was a very convenient subscription for my dogs, so I was very disappointed.
I'm not sure what the difference is between the supposedly new and old formulas. My 9-year-old puppy was unconcerned about the change. We didn't make a gradual transition to the new food; we ran out of the old and moved on to the new, and there were no problems even with a finicky eater. Since she was a year old, we've been feeding her this food. Hopefully, the photos in the attachment will assist you in making your decision. I love the new resealable bag!.
Bring back the old recipe; the new 2019 version does not appeal to my dog. He ate it all on the first day, then went two days without eating anything. He also developed a mild case of diarrhea as a result of it. I thought they sent me the wrong kind of regular fitness instead of advanced fitness, but I was mistaken; it's the 2019 version. I like that they went with a resealable bag because it looks like completely different kibble in terms of shape, texture, and so on. I'm not sure why they would alter a successful and well-liked recipe. Whatever it takes to save a buck, I suppose.
I ordered a 35-pound bag of this because it's what my dog ate at the shelter, and he seemed to like it, so I ordered a second bag, and he began delaying his meals. He seems to be turning away from it by the day; his breakfast has been sitting out for more than 5 hours and he hasn't touched it. I'll be switching brands because it has a very strong and strange odor.
We ordered this and he seemed reluctant to eat it at first, but eventually did. Within two days, he began to have extremely loose stools. We took this away and went to the store to purchase Science Diet after reading other reviews. I'm hoping he feels better soon and that the problem isn't long-term.
This is food that I've been purchasing for a long time. It was fantastic to do advanced fitness. It was made with high-quality ingredients (and still is), and dogs adored it. The smell of the new recipe is OUTRAGEOUS. Both of my dogs are grazers, so I've never had a problem leaving food out for them. It didn't have a particularly strong smell to it. The new one stank up the entire house. The food has been removed, but the smell remains. I have a sealed container, and whenever I open it, the odor returns to the house. My dogs still enjoy it, but it causes them to have a lottttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt I'm sorry to say that I'll have to switch brands; I loved the old formula and will be disappointed to have to switch.
The top of the bag has pleats on it so that it doesn't spill all over the place when you pour it in. The problem is that if you're older or have a bad back, you won't be able to lift it to pour it out because of the weight. I can pick up the bag and put it into my dog food keeper when I've used about 3/4 of the bag. It's also difficult to get the food out if you want to use a large bowl to transfer it to a smaller container because of how it's made. The top is velcro, which I like because I can use it as a trash bag once it's full.
