Questions & Answers

What isthe % of protein, fat and so on a basis of fat and so on ?

5 % Protein and 12 % Fat Because my older dogs do not require protein, I feed it to them. One of my dogs had questionable kidney issues, so I was advised to find a low-salt food, which this does, and he is now 15 and a half years old.

Hello - How long does this dog food have a shelf life? Is there a date on the bag?

Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. The shelf life of different foods varies. All Hill's® dry products are guaranteed fresh until the best before date printed on the individual bag, assuming proper handling and storage. The product should be kept in its original packaging and kept dry at temperatures below 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius). Hill's Pet Nutrition is a brand of pet food.

How can I stop receiving dog food in the future?

I'm not sure, but if you're running an automatic delivery program, it shouldn't be too difficult.

Hello - How long does this dog food have a shelf life? Is there a date on the bag?

Yes, there is an expiration date on each bag that you receive. Return the package if there is no expiration date on it. I estimate that the food you receive will last a year. However, this should be done in accordance with the package's instructions for storage. If you're concerned about expiration, buy smaller bags.

My maltese's live enzymes have returned to normal after a year of eating this dog food! My maltese is nine years old, and we've had him for seven years (he was rescued from a no-kill shelter when he was two years old)
5/5

With the exception of the last couple of years, when his veterinarian warned us that his liver enzymes were beginning to rise, he has always been healthy. Last year, the trend continued to the point where the enzymes were elevated to the point where the vet began discussing corrective action (meds, Rx food, which would have cost $70 per bag, and possibly future surgery if things worsened). br>br>I decided to try changing his diet to see if it would help, and if things didn't improve in six months, we'd follow the vet's instructions. I reduced almost all treats as the first change I made. This was difficult for both my dog and me because I enjoyed feeding him table scraps, and he enjoyed it as well. But I discovered that rewarding him with walks and lots of play time made both of us feel better about the change. Second, I looked up information on diets for dogs with liver problems on the internet, and discovered that they needed to be low in animal protein and copper. br>br>After reading a lot of reviews and reading a lot of labels, I decided to give this one a shot. I like that the kibble bites are smaller because it makes it easier for old and small dogs like mine to eat without having to bite through large chunks of kibble. This food was his absolute favorite. He devoured it, and his liver enzyme tests began to improve after six months. We persisted, and after a year, his veterinarian informed us that not only were his liver enzymes normal, but he didn't appear to have any previous liver damage. He claimed that if he hadn't had the years of old tests in his system, he wouldn't have believed my dog had ever had liver problems based on recent tests. br>br>I'm not a doctor or a vet, so it's possible that it wasn't the dog food, but aside from that and eliminating treats, we didn't make any other changes. I used to give him doggie liver enzyme support tablets from Vitamin Shoppe in the early months of our business, but I stopped giving them to him after only a few weeks because I noticed they were making him throw up more. br>br>I will say that if the food has been sitting in the plastic bag for a long time, he does not seem to like it and will avoid eating it, sometimes going over 24 hours without eating. Until I purchased a stainless steel doggie food canister large enough to hold the small bag of this food. He hasn't skipped a meal since then, and he makes sure to finish everything in his bowl. I'm guessing it will taste plasticky after being stored in the bag for a while, but this is just a guess.

For the same amount of food as for 17, 2 1/2 lbs less food is required
3/5

5 lbs. We've been purchasing 17 since the beginning. Hill's used to sell 5 pound bags of this food until our last order, when they stopped doing so and changed the picture on the bag, reducing the weight of the food by 2 1/2 pounds while charging the same price as if you bought the 17. Bag weighing 5 lbs. Exactly the same food is served. This is unquestionably not a good way to treat their loyal customers. Because of Hill's deceptive and deceptive move, we are weaning our dog off of Hills brand food.

It's not the same as before! It's a pukey dog
3/5

We purchased the previous version for our senior dog who suffers from stomach problems, and it was fantastic for a few years. Unfortunately, while on this model, our dog puked for two days. He's having trouble with the new formula. We had to switch to a different brand, and his stomach has now returned to normal. Unfortunately, this is the case. If the previous version is working well, I would not recommend switching to a new one.

Be cautious when purchasing something online
3/5

WARNING TO THE BUYER There's something wrong with this meal. My Yorkie, a 14-year-old Yorkie in good health, has been on this brand for years, but I purchased this bag from Amazon, and she has developed UTIs since using it. When she first developed symptoms, I thought it was strange, so I stopped feeding her, gave her antibiotics, and switched her food. We thought we'd give this one another shot because she loves it so much, but the uti reappeared. I'm curious if this bag is contaminated with bacteria. Ugh. This seller should not be purchased from.

Four dogs agree that this is a great choice
5/5

I own four dogs, three of which are over the age of ten. The food smells like human food, and the small bite sizes make eating easy for them. After one of our senior dogs had a stroke, we decided to switch from another high-protein brand and looked into "senior longevity" types. All of our dogs' alertness and focus have improved since switching to SD, and their fur has softened as well. br>I must say, I think our walks have gotten better. because their feces is no longer stinky! I never imagined food could have such an effect, but it makes sense. I used to dread going for walks because the smell of their feces was unbearable (lol), and carrying bags for four dogs was exhausting. br>I understand that the price is high, but the dogs eat less and there is no filler because of the higher quality ingredients. I live in Alaska as well, and Amazon is less expensive than local shops. It was well worth the money, and if the dogs are going to eat the same thing every day, it might as well be something tasty and nutritious!.

So I began researching nutrition and supplements to assist them, and I came across Hill's Science Diet, which had amazing results
5/5

I have two yellow labs, both of which are around 11 years old and still very young. They've always been active dogs, swimming, running, chasing the tennis ball, etc. , and they have 5 acres of land to roam, a pond, and miles of wooded trails, a dog's paradise. However, last year I noticed a change in their behavior and appearance, and they no longer had that young dog appearance. They were uninterested in long walks or being outside in general. Because I work from home, these two are with me during the day in my shop and office, and then at night with me and my family. I bring this up because any difference in these two would be immediately noticeable to me. They are essentially my silent business partners, and without them and their company, I would be lost. So I began researching nutrition and supplements to assist them, and I came across Hill's Science Diet, which produced incredible results. A complete 180-degree turn. Their fur is softer and less itchy, their eyes are brighter, and they have more energy. Wow, a three-year-old lab's energy levels have returned. We used to buy Pedigree and other lower-cost (20. ) breeds. I compared the ingredients in both 00) bags. I no longer hesitate to spend more money on high-quality dog food because my dogs adore it; it is well worth the investment. It's such a wonderful feeling to know that, given how much they contribute to my family, it's the least we can do to make them happy and comfortable. Do yourself a favor and use Hill's products if you truly care about your pet.
