I've been feeding this food to my dogs for a while now, and I believe I'm now in a position to give an accurate review. This is incredible food. br>Excellent ingredients, as you can see. Aside from Orijen, there aren't many foods that contain such ingredients. They're both made by the same company, too. I wanted a food that was low in carbohydrates and high in protein. This was exactly what I needed. True isn't cheap, but I don't find that I need to supplement it. Concerning the class action lawsuit. br>br> I did some research into this and the information I uncovered led me to believe the case is unfounded, possibly a smear campaign or a cash grab. In any case, I'm confident enough to feed it to my dogs, whom I adore. Taste-my, my two dogs, Zeus and Ares, adore this food! Purina pro plan, taste of the wild, blue buffalo, and 4 health are just a few of the brands we've tried. This is the first time they've ever eaten food like this! br>Because of the higher calorie count, I find that I feed them less of this. If you truly care about your dog, only give it Acana. After reading a lot of dog "food" literature, it's clear that there's a big difference between pet "food" and pet "feed," and that the majority of what we feed our pets is actually feed, not food. The acquisition of formerly trusted names like Hills, Science Diet, Iams, and Blue Buffalo by giant corporations trading on Brand name history in order to substitute cheaper ingredients in the Billion dollar pet food industry makes it all the more difficult to find good quality food for your pet. Thankfully, the internet exists to help you separate the good from the bad. There is a "The Animal Park" store here in town. They only sell high-quality pet "food," and their employees are knowledgeable and caring. It is simple to find good food in that location. We recently adopted a new puppy and realized that the death of our beloved 10-year-old Tucker was most likely caused by the long-term use of pet food masquerading as food. After doing some research, I came to the conclusion that instead of 15 or 20 year old pets, 7 to 10 year old pets are more likely as a result of the crap we give them unintentionally. Because we live in a consumer-driven society, it's no surprise that pet survival is being shortened in order to boost profits for industries that cheapen and even create toxic feed. Look up "pet food recalls" and the companies that were responsible. br>br>Acana has never had a recall and only uses meat and vegetables sourced locally (not from China or India) with no nightshades. We started with a smaller size package from Animal Park and gradually switched our dog over to Acana. It worked exactly as we had hoped; because of the higher protein and fat content, it took less to satisfy him, and his stools were firmer and smaller overall. We were planning on getting Fromm's, but the store manager recommended Acana, which we gladly accepted.
My city of York is- For years, poo's ears have been inflamed and itchy. I switched her to a dry "grain-free" dog food that included pumpkin, squash, and salmon on occasion. I switched to all-natural treats for her. After that, she received an allergy shot every eight weeks from the veterinarian. It seemed to help for ten weeks, but the inflamed ears did not go away. For three months, another veterinarian used laser therapy, daily ear flushing, antibiotics, and steroids, but the inflammation appeared to worsen. (Not to mention expensive every two weeks!) )br>To cut a long story short, my daughter recommended Awana dry dog food (which I use as a "topper" with her evening meal), and her ears were no longer inflamed, smelly, or itchy after just one week. (I've got her on Meadowland "flavor" and she adores it!) )br>I was put off by the cost of a 4lb. I was paying a lot of money to the vet for medications and treatments, so I thought I'd give it a shot. This food is incredible, and I've noticed that my dog isn't eating as much as she used to because it satisfies her and makes her happy. If your pet has "ear problems," I strongly advise you to try this food. I'm not sure about the other "flavors," but my dog absolutely adores the meadowland, so it's well worth the money.

Because my dog dislikes it, I had to give it a three-star rating. My dog used to be a big fan of the original Grasslands, which were made in Canada. I switched foods for a while because he is a smaller breed and prefers a smaller kibble size, and I used to have to crush the pieces for him, and I noticed the food would change to the US formulation at the time, and I was eager to try the new formulation because I admire the company's ingredient sourcing and quality. This newer Grasslands, made in the United States for the American market, is very different from the one sold in Canada, and he won't touch it. He just sneers and ignores it. In general, he will try new foods at least once, but despite my repeated attempts to introduce it to him, he will not touch it. br>br>I believe the company is one of, if not the best, in the dog food industry, but I wish they would stick to Canadian ingredients. I understand why they use more local US ingredients, but it is not even close to the previous formulation, and my dog rejects it. So far, my dog has stuck to Amicus, which he prefers over all other options. br>br>If your dog enjoys it, this is a great food for him. I wish the makers of Acana and Orijen dog foods would consider developing a smaller breed dog food that is both palatable and tailored to the needs of smaller dogs. I'd give it a shot with my ten-pound pal.
