This has progressed to her fleeing the property if she is outside when a storm appears out of nowhere (we live in North Carolina, so this is a common occurrence during the summer). In the front of the house, there is an electric fence, and in the back, there is a gate. She escaped the fenced property and went missing for almost an hour. She attempted to flee the second time by sprinting out the front door. I began looking into GPS tracking devices for her at that point. br>br>There are a few options on the market, but I settled on the Gibi after a few hours of research. The gibi comes with a collar attachment that can be tracked using GPS satellites through a phone app. A base station and short-range blue tooth technology are used by many others. br>br>Another reason I chose Gibi was the quality of their customer service before I even purchased the device; I contacted them twice, the first to inquire about the service quality for my address, and the second to inquire if there was any difference between purchasing the device directly from their site versus through Amazon. My emails were responded to in less than two hours both times, and they informed me of a special Amazon price. br>br>I ordered the device, and it arrived in two days (4 days faster than the estimated delivery time). I had some trouble getting my account set up (due to the browser I was using), so I contacted customer service again. I was called back within an hour, and the representative stayed on the line to help me set up my account, learn the product, and sync it with their system. br>br>The device is now charged, attached to my pet, and visible in the tracking app on my phone. From start to finish, excellent customer service. br>br> After we've used it for a few days, I'll update my review.
We received numerous alerts indicating that our dog had left her safe zone, despite the fact that she was not only safe, but also INSIDE the house next to us (the house was included in her safe zone, by the way). When we took her miles outside her established perimeter or when the unit was locked in my desk at work overnight until I had time to place a return request, we did not receive a single alert that she was outside her safe zone. I will be charged $7 for the privilege of trying out a poorly functioning device. We have given it nearly three weeks of use with an active dog, so there are signs that it was used. We also paid a $50 restocking fee and received less than the amount I paid because Gibi reduces your refund for the appearance of scratches, etc. to the device. We have given it nearly three weeks of use with an active dog, so there are signs that it was used. The device costs $99, and the service costs $99 for a year. Don't waste your money on this product; it is in desperate need of improvement. Indeed, I just logged into my Gibi account to cancel the subscription while sitting at my desk at work with the device boxed up next to me. The device is still listed in their system as being at my residence - This product's lack of accuracy and poor functionality is evidenced by the fact that I work nearly 40 miles away from home.
Mrs. Tiggy is my dog. Winkle is a thief, and she's gotten away several times. Fortunately, I've always been able to track her down, but it's a time-consuming and stressful process. Gibi was recommended to me by a friend. Dog trackers were something I had never heard of before. I looked into it a little bit more - There are other pet trackers on the market, but many of them require a base station and/or short range technology and/or "crowd sourcing" similar to tile, whereas Gibi uses GPS and cellular technology and a mobile phone app so your pet can be found anywhere there is cellular service. br>br>I found it simple to set up my Gibi account, and once I charged the device, I was able to track my dog on my mobile phone with no problems. I especially like the virtual fence feature, which alerts me when my dog leaves a user-defined area, as well as the fact that it's completely waterproof, as Mrs. Tiggy-Tiggy-Tiggy-Tiggy-Tiggy-Tiggy-Tiggy-Tiggy-Tiggy-Tiggy-Tiggy- Winkle is a big fan of water and mud.
This tracker isn't quite what I was hoping for. It isn't precise and lags! This is a product that I would not recommend.
After reading a few reviews, I thought this would be a great product, but it ended up costing me $400 to get started, and the GPS tracker is extremely inaccurate! It was extremely difficult to create a safe zone around just our backyard, and even when our dogs are in the yard or cage, it sends notifications that they are not in the safe zone, making it impossible to tell whether they are truly out of the yard. I'm going to return this system because it appears to be more trouble than it's worth.
Within minutes, George had replied to my email with a solution to my issue. Excellent customer service, responsiveness, and friendliness.
This item was ineffective. When the GiBi was on the charger, it would tell me my dog was in a safe zone, then quickly tell me he was out of a safe zone. This would also occur outside. Amazon doesn't want me to return something, and Gibi isn't willing to give me a refund. It's just not worth it.
Cats aren't meant to be this big. There is currently no iPhone app available. Only a browser is available. br>Not very accurate; the cat was in a different location than the one depicted.
