Questions & Answers

Does it keep track of their heart rate?

While we're still looking for ways to add new sensors in the future, we're very proud of FitBark 2's small product size, form factor, and battery life right now.

Is it possible to link Fitbark to my Fitbit challenges with other people?

Mine has never been able to sync properly.

What exactly does this device do to keep track of your skin's health? I'm curious if this could assist me in dealing with my gsd. ?

It keeps track of everything that happens. When a dog scratches a lot, it usually results in sleep disturbances. When I asked how to interpret the results of my dog's tests, I was told this. I hope this has been of assistance.

Where can I get a fitbarks base station? While I'm at work, I'd like to be able to monitor their activity. ?

Tristan believes so. You don't need a base station anymore, thanks to recent updates and upgrades. You can use a tablet or another cell phone as long as you keep it within 30 feet of the dog. That makes the nearly three-hour conversation I had with Tristan and Marcus trying to set it up a lot easier.

Selected User Reviews For FitBark 2 Dog Activity Monitor | Health & Fitness Tracker for Dogs | Waterproof, Small & Leightweight (10 g) | Not a GPS Tracker

The best dog activity tracker on the market has just gotten even better! We've tried a lot of activity monitors for our dogs over the last four years, and the Fitbark has been the best of them all
5/5

Our original Fitbark did a great job for our three dogs over the last two years. In many ways, however, the new Fitbark 2 is an improvement. We like it a lot. Below, I'll go over some specifics. br>br>The original Fitbark's size and shape were two of our favorite features. It fits well against a collar because it is shaped like a bone. Unlike some of its competitors, it is small enough to be suitable for dogs of all sizes. The Fitbark 2 is slightly larger than the original, but it's still small enough to fit on our smallest chihuahua, Liberté, who weighs only 5 pounds. br>br>The Fitbark 2's collar attachment is also a significant improvement. Two rubber bands were used to secure it at first. That system never gave us any problems, but it did for some others. The new Fitbark uses a ziptie method that will withstand almost any situation. If you want to switch out your dog's collar, it even comes with extra zip ties. When compared to the previous method, it is a significant improvement. br>br>Perhaps the most significant change is the battery life, which has increased from 7 to 10 days on a single charge with the original Fitbark. This is a lot of charging with three dogs. On a single charge, the new Fitbark 2 is expected to last up to 6 months. That's right, you read it correctly. There is a six-month gap between charges. We got a little over five months out of our first charge in our first test. Over the course of a year, you'll go from charging 40 or 50 times to maybe twice, allowing you to keep an eye on your furry friend without interruption. br>br>One of the most enjoyable features of the Fitbark 2 is the ability to purchase various colored covers. You could only get a specific color for your dog with the original Fitbark. The Fitbark 2 is currently available in a standard black color, but covers can be purchased for a few dollars to change out depending on your dog's fashion sense. It may appear silly, but it is one of my favorite things. To charge the Fitbark, you must remove this cover. br>br>One final upgrade I'll mention is the charging port, which was a standard USB mini in the original Fitbark. It had a rubber cap that protected it from the elements. However, many of us took extra precautions to protect the Fitbark for our swimming dogs, such as wrapping it in water balloons or using a surgical glove finger, etc. The new Fitbark 2, on the other hand, has a radically different charging port that uses a simple contact point to prevent water from getting into the device, making it a much more rugged device than the original. br>br>Some things haven't changed in the years we've been using Fitbark. The Fitbark team provides unrivaled customer service, as evidenced by their dedication to assisting customers. The wifi base station was not working properly for me. I informed Fitbark's customer service team about my equipment. My AirPort Extreme didn't appear to be communicating with the base station correctly. Fabrizio, the person who was assisting me, said he'd go to the Apple store and get one so he could do some tests in his office, which he did and then returned with a solution. I was blown away by it. When I say it's the best customer service I've ever had, I'm not exaggerating. If you're wondering what the Fitbark does or why anyone would want one, all I can say is that I see it as an investment in my relationship with my dogs. It keeps me honest during these cold and dreary North East winters to make sure our pups get the exercise and activity they need and want by tracking their activity levels. But, more importantly, it keeps track of their inactivity. You may have a general idea of how much exercise your dog gets, but it can be difficult to keep track of their sleep, which is where the Fitbark comes in handy. A significant shift in your dog's sleeping habits indicates that something is wrong. It has certainly aided us in keeping track of our oldest dog's health and getting him to the vet sooner than we would have otherwise. br>br>We are huge fans of the new Fitbark 2. It's a tougher version of the original. It has a long battery life and can be customized with different colored covers. You have access to one of the best customer service teams in the world if you run into any issues. If you've read this far, you should put the Fitbark 2 in your cart; you and your dog will not be disappointed.

It's great until it doesn't work anymore (two Fitbarks have broken)
3/5

This is a well-thought-out product that accomplishes precisely what we require. We can monitor how much exercise our dog receives and whether or not dog walkers are performing their duties. After a year, our first one broke down. However, we were so pleased with it that we purchased a second one in the hopes of extending its life. That lasted just over six months before it began to deteriorate, displaying extremely low numbers or skipping entire days. Even when working, getting it to pair and sync can be a chore. I'll give them another chance if a "Fitbark 3" comes out with reliability as a new feature.

The Best Dog and Horse Activity Monitor, with a Significant Improvement in Battery Life Over the Original FitBark! Our FitBarks are absolutely fantastic! br>We use them for our horses as well as our dogs
5/5

The way we medicate and monitor our animals has changed thanks to this activity monitor! Stetson, one of our horses, has laminitis, which causes him pain in his feet and limits his movement. We can use the FitBark to track his movements throughout the day and see how they differ from hour to hour. Our veterinarian is ecstatic that she has such easy access to his data! She simply downloaded the app, and we added her as a veterinarian user to Stetson's FitBark profile, allowing her to check in on him whenever she wants! Tracking his movement has allowed us to catch him when he is having a bad day and administer pain medication before he visually begins limping! This excites us greatly. Our FitBarks are also used by our Blue Heelers, Brisket and Pancake, who enjoy swimming. The original FitBark was also waterproof, but our dogs put it to the test; they adore swimming pools! We had one of our original FitBarks stop working after hours of swimming in the pool, and we believe it was due to too much splash time! That hasn't happened with the FitBark 2; This activity monitor handled all of my swimming for the entire day without a hitch! br>The FitBark 2 has a much longer battery life than the original FitBark, and we have a WiFi Base Station in the house that syncs the dogs' FitBarks every few minutes. With a full charge (which only takes 90 minutes), the battery lasts for a month and a half, even with almost constant syncing. The battery in the horses' FitBarks is only synced once a day via Bluetooth, and their battery life is just over three months! The new FitBark 2 attaches to the dog's collar or the horse's fly mask with zip ties, so we don't have to worry about battery life!br> We haven't had any problems losing the FitBark 2, and switching collars is as simple as cutting the zip tie with scissors and replacing it with a new zip tie! We kept the FitBarks clean and protected them from being scratched on trees and branches by placing them in a soft material zippered pouch (see photo). br>The only drawback to the FitBark 2 is that the plastic part of the FitBark is no longer available in colors; only black is available. Colored silicone covers are available for the FitBarks, but I prefer the device to be colored in the first place. When it came to charging, the colored plastic helped me keep track of which animal's FitBark was which. br>I strongly advise every pet parent to purchase this activity monitor! I've also hooked my best friend and sister!.
