Questions & Answers

I'm looking for a dog tracking device that will work with him. Is this a feasible option?

To be sure, yes. It is not bothered by trees, but it is bothered by terrain. Example: My house is on a curved ridge, and my neighbor lives at a similar elevation but about 100 yards around the curve. The tracker will say 70% power (range) when my cat goes over there. If I walk straight ahead and DOWN into the ravine as I approach him, the signal will actually deteriorate as the earth begins to block "line of sight." It will strengthen again as I walk back up the opposite side. The direction indicator will occasionally stop working in the middle. If I walk along the top curve of the ridge, the signal raises from 70% as I go along the top curve of the ridge as I go along the top curve of the% The arrow continues to point directly at him. Both methods are effective, but the former requires some triangulation or faith that you're still on the right track.

Would this tracker work to track a dog that might swim to the next (very close) island? Our cottage is on a heavily wooded but flat island; would this tracker work to track a dog that might swim to the next (very close) island?

You may not be able to get a signal while the dog is swimming, depending on whether the tag is above or below the water line; however, once he is on the other island, there will be no problem, as the range of operation over water is nearly identical to that of open, flat land.

What is the range of possibilities?

"2 miles" in ideal conditions, according to the description. It has always detected my dog when I've used it, but he was most likely within a 2-mile radius. range of a thousand miles

Anyone have any experience using a tracker on a lab or someone who swims in a lake every day? Is it still going strong after all these years? If it isn't 100% water proof, it's a big investment! ?

Make sure you don't throw your money away. It isn't water resistant. The quality of the product is poor. My receiver's charging connector wore out after only two months. Although the device functions, it is unable to be charged. It has a limited range. My next purchase will be a Garmin hunting dog tracker, which is both expensive and well-made.

Allowing my dog to be a dog is a piece of security for me! The Marco Polo is one of my favorites! The greatest investment I've ever made! I'm a country boy who lives on a farm
5/5

Surrounded by hundreds of acres of corn, tree lines, and soy bean fields, this 5 acre property has a house and outbuildings. When it comes to tracking devices, my only option, satellite internet, is useless. I've tried a lot of them! Marco Polo is the most effective, and I'm willing to spend hundreds of dollars to ensure the safety of my dogs. Marco Polo, on the other hand, is inexpensive (shhh, don't tell the boss!). ) as well as being simple to operate. There is a slight learning curve to contend with. Basically, determining what might be in the area that could cause the radio waves to bounce. You can get the right direction by moving a few feet. Also, the distance requires practice in order to know how far it really is. Mine is set to sound an alarm if he wanders too far (with multiple settings to customize how far). I also have a dog whistle attached to the tracker's lanyard that sounds when the monitor alarm goes off. I give him a few whistle blasts. Put it on tracker mode to make sure he's heading my way, and he'll be greeted with tasty treats when he gets home. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever He's a terrier with a strong prey drive, so it could take a few seconds or ten minutes, but with the Marco Polo, I can keep track of his direction and distance. I've only had to take him out on a couple of occasions. Only once did I have to summon the four-wheeler to bring him back. He had a deer on his tail. It was impossible to put an end to it. We were more than a mile away from our house. Marco Polo had me on his tail the entire time. It was worth a hundred Marco Polos just for that day! I was fortunate enough to only require one! The capacity of the battery is incredible! Once a month, I put a charge on the receiver's collar. The tracker is mostly in my kitchen, where it is plugged in. On most days, I bring it outside with me. It's been known for it to spend the entire weekend outside with very little battery usage. It has a battery meter, which I haven't looked at in a long time. You don't have to do anything because it's always ready. The Marco Polo has been in my possession for over a year. My dog enjoys rolling in whatever he can get his paws on. His collars take a beating from him. The Marco polo collar holster has lasted a long time, but I had to replace it recently. You can buy it separately for I believe 19 dollars on the website. My dog's collar receiver has been soaked numerous times, but it has never been submerged. He enjoys running through wet grass and water. He, on the other hand, has no desire to swim. I sincerely hope I was of assistance. I was at a loss as to how to keep an eye on and control my dog. I wanted him to be able to have some independence from me. That was given to me by Marco Polo! I 100% strongly suggest that you try it!.

Instructions are very detailed, but they are also very confusing
3/5

We're archeologists who spend a lot of time in the field using GPS. We were unable to track or locate our dog despite numerous attempts. He had been missing for two days. We needed to hire a helicopter and enlist the help of friends and colleagues. workers to go out and look for him in the fields He was apprehended, and he was unable to rejoin us. When we got within 4 feet of the dog, the tracker appeared to work. The direction to look was indicated by an arrow. Naturally, we could see our dog from that distance. Even for two GPS field workers, this is a difficult system to use. It's a real shame. We were so sure of ourselves at first that we let the dog run loose in the field, which turned out to be a tragic mistake. We've always used a large, cumbersome hunting GPS and have never had any issues with its use or location. I had no idea it would work so well. It is difficult for us to write a negative review, but we are sincere in our intentions. We were on the verge of losing our dog, which is unforgivable.

I've been looking for a good way to keep track of my pets for quite some time now
5/5

I've been looking for a good way to keep track of my pets for quite some time now. When it's time to come in for the night, I have a 70-pound Lab who enjoys the water and an 8-pound cat who enjoys hiding from me. Finding a single solution for both pets has been difficult to say the least. br>br>For the cat, it must fit comfortably on her existing breakaway collar. The Marco Polo tag is less than an ounce in weight and is attached to the collar with a soft nylon fabric holder that fits snugly to the collar, ensuring that nothing falls out and catches on branches. After I put it on her collar, she didn't even notice it. br>br>For the Lab, I need something that can withstand his love of water and his crashing through the bushes on our hikes. I take him on trips where we are frequently in areas without cell service, and this is one of the few products that works without requiring cell coverage. br>br>As for cost, I looked at the popular GPS/cellular system (which is too big for my cat and won't work where I hike with my dog) and even with their sale prices, when you factor in the service fees, it's actually more expensive for my two pets by the end of the first year than Marco Polo is – and the fees don't stop there! After three years, the GPS unit costs nearly three times as much as Marco Polo. br>br>PS: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "cre I found a video of the tag being run over by a car on the internet; these things are tough!.
