My 65-pound Labrador is lean and petite. I loosely measured her dimensions several times in accordance with the instructions to ensure I got accurate measurements (neck 21"/chest 29. 5" x 18" length 5"), and I determined that she required an XL size, which was quickly delivered. Her raincoat appears to be too tight and constricting around the neck after she puts it on. Aside from that, it's a good match. If your dog or cat has excessive (loose) skin around the neck and upper chest, I recommend measuring up 1"- 2" 2" in order to ensure a snug and comfortable fit.
My golden retriever had no trouble putting it on. I clip her leash to the chest loop and wear it over her harness. The jacket doesn't get in the way. It kept my dog dry, so all I had to do was wipe her paws and head with a towel. I exchanged the XL for an XXL because the XL was too tight. It looks a lot better with her thick coat on. Her measurements are 31" chest, 19" neck, and 23" length, indicating that the XL was too small for her. I'm glad I got it for the rainy Seattle winter. It's also lined with a light fleece, so it's not too hot.
The lack of a hood is one of the reasons I chose this particular coat. A hood on a dog coat appears ridiculous and is likely to irritate the dog. With a waterproof shell and a fleecy lining, this coat appears to be of good quality. It's a little big for our dog, but that's fine with me. It is both comfortable and simple to put on. Because he despises it, this is critical! I'm trying to get him to let me put it on when it's raining because he enjoys being outside but comes in drenched every time it rains. I do have to chase him down with this, but the velcro across the chest and under the torso allows you to get it on quickly. Because there is so much velcro to overlap, it's adjustable and simple to match up when your dog is squirming to get away. I like not having to towel him off every time he comes in from the rain because he's gradually getting used to the coat.
This jacket is perfect for me. When my dog returns from his walk, the jacket perfectly covers the chest and full back, leaving little to dry.
This has the potential to change the game entirely. I needed something that would reduce the amount of time it took for me to dry after walking my two dogs in the rain. I needed something that was both comfortable and didn't have a hood for them to wear. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. It's easy to put on, stays in place, and is functional (their backs stay dry) thanks to the thin fleece layer that feels like a sweater (which they love). They also have a very sleek appearance. My older male dog peed on the stomach part 1x by accident, but he has terrible aim, so it could just be him and not a design flaw. Following my body measurements, I was able to find some that fit perfectly. My medium-sized dog weighs 38 pounds and a large fits him perfectly (green in the photo). My small dog weighs 20 pounds and a medium fits her perfectly (blue).
I have a terrier mix that weighs 18 pounds. She dresses in a small size. The majority of the items are medium. I made sure to size up according to the chart. I ordered a small and ended up having to return it. I ordered a medium and it is also too small. Sorry I spent $19 on something I'll have to replace because my dog won't do her business in the rain without a coat, and we have a week and a half of rain forecast. FYI - If you're wearing a harness, the hole for the leash on the back is too far forward. I would give this a 5 if the sizing chart was fixed and you only used a collar instead of a harness.
It's the perfect size for my 60-pound medium dog! This is something I strongly suggest! It should fit your dog perfectly, just like it does mine, if you follow the size chart.
anything. This raincoat is light, airy, and non-absorbent. My shiba can actually walk while wearing it (it's the only one we've found that she tolerates so far). br>br>The sizing is fairly accurate, but based on measurements around the neck, it appears to be a little tighter than expected. There is no such thing as a stretch what-so-ever. It never gets wet (as one would expect from a waterproof coat), and it stays put on walks (it doesn't sag to the side). There is a hole that allows you to attach to a collar or harness from the back, but this coat also fits in such a way that front harness attachments are possible. In terms of the fit around her neck, the large would have been preferable, but it would have been much too long. If you have a dog with impressive neck floof, you may need to find a way to extend this jacket in order for it to fit properly.
