Questions & Answers

What's the patch's measurement?

You'll get a 500-square-foot vinyl roll. inches in total, with your patch cut to fit. The width of the roll is six inches.

I'm looking for a slow-setting adhesive. What is the maximum length of a 1 ft. b 1 ft. I tried underwater adhesive, but it dried before I could get it underwater. ?

I didn't time the adhesive, but I did use it to cover a leaking seam on a 20-year-old vinyl pool liner with a 3"X 48" strip. Approximately two-thirds of the work was done underwater. It took about 5 minutes to apply the adhesive to the patch and then press it over the seam with a small wallpaper seam roller. I was told it was impossible to patch a liner seam, but the Boxer patch is still in place and the leak is still sealed after three years in the Northeast.

In my above-ground pool, where the hose connects to filter water back and forth from the pump, there is a tear. Is this a viable solution?

It will work with flex tape or gorilla tape that is waterproof.

This is fantastic-- Beware of the Hairy Dudes! Updated
5/5

A year has passed. Using it is a breeze. If you used a pre-made cut-and-paste job, You should have no trouble using this product at school. br>There is plenty of patch material and more than enough glue to make multiple patches. br>I would close the lid with pliers, as I would with PVC cement, to avoid hardening over time. br>I patched the liner in an in-place manner. a pool beneath the surface It would have been more difficult in the deep end, where you'd probably need something to hold on to, but it was simple in the shallow end. br>It took only a few seconds for the patch to stop the leak from my wallet and pool. In the spring, I'll double-check it and make any necessary changes to this review. br>Now, let's talk about that cautionary note. br>I snipped off the excess hair. sized patch and liberally applied cement Being a woodsman is a unique experience. I wanted to double-check that the joint wasn't glued together. starved. br>I folded it in half as directed and slid it into place with ease, pushing the air and excess glue out the sides. br>It's in place and working fine; the entire process took less than 15 minutes from beginning to end. br>Then I noticed a couple of quarter-sized holes in the floor. sized glue blobs float on the water's surface I expected them to get stuck in the filter, skimmer, or on the liner. Because it was windy and chilly, I was already turning blue, so I ignored it and climbed out of the pool. br>I then noticed that the excess glue on my hands was beginning to dry. It was a lot of fun, like when you were a kid and put glue on your hands. Oh, and don't pretend you didn't do it. br>A few minutes later, I felt an odd tugging on my chest, which turned out to be one of those floating bits of glue lovingly wrapping itself around some chest hair. HOLY MOTHERLESS SON OF A SEACOOK! I went to pull it off and HOLY MOTHERLESS SON OF A SEACOOK! I was on the verge of collapsing to the ground. I had a good chunk of chest pelt in my hand. br>Over the next hour, the glue dried, and I found about four spots on my legs, five spots on my arm hair, and a couple more spots on my torso. br>Some of them dried in such a way that when I moved in a certain way, they would pull my hair out. br>I couldn't pull any more off by hand, so I used scissors, razors, and a beard trimmer for the next three days, eventually having to let a patch on my shin go for a week until I could get it off without skinning myself alive. br>All I can say is that I'm glad I don't have a hairy back. br>**UPDATE*
It's been a year, and the patches are still holding up well; they're a lighter color than the liner, which could indicate that they dried less clearly or that the glue is to blame. br>I'm still very happy with it. In addition, I have regrown all of my hair.

Obtain assistance, but perhaps not from your spouse
5/5

I looked up the cost of a new liner for our above-ground pool, which is 24 feet long. The cost of replacing 12,000 gallons of water added another $300 to the total. The cost of a repair kit appeared to be insignificant in comparison. The patch kit is adequate, but the underwater installation necessitates the presence of at least two people. I tried it on my own, but it takes two hands to unfold the patch before applying it, which is difficult when trying to stay submerged. My wife offered to help by holding my hand underwater. In retrospect, I think she was a little too eager to volunteer and a little hesitant to let me come up for air. Aside from that, my only gripe was the water's temperature. Although 70 degrees is a little cooler than I would have preferred, my wife claims that blue suits me. It's a straightforward procedure. Simply cut a patch that is at least 3 inches larger than the leak and has round corners. Use the included swap to apply the adhesive. Fold the patch in half, with the adhesive on the inside, and bring it to the point of application, where you will unfold it before applying it. It should be smoothed out and all air bubbles should be pushed out. A gallon ziplock bag was used to make a sand bag, which I placed on the patch. I covered the patch with a sandbag overnight. The leak has been stopped, and the patch appears to be working properly.

This is a fantastic product that is incredibly simple to use
5/5

I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so in this case. Our above-ground pool was losing nearly an inch of water per day, and I became fixated on finding a solution. A google search led me to believe that I had a hole in the liner, so I bought this product based on its low price and positive reviews. It turns out that even a pinhole can leak a lot of water. br>br>I jumped in the pool after my girlfriend got me a good pair of goggles (despite the fact that they were pink). It helps to have a relatively clean bottom so you can see the liner without having debris all over it. Also, make sure your filter is turned off and the water is mostly still. br>br> I discovered a number of places where rocks had poked through the liner. I checked to see if I could poke through the liner with a small scratch awl (a toothpick would also work). I tried to use the vinyl repair patch if I could. br>br> Cut out a circular patch about an inch or two in diameter and coat one side with adhesive, then fold it in half so that the glue stays on the inside (I thought keeping the glue on the patch would be difficult, but it was not). br>br>Swim down to the hole and cover it with the vinyl patch. Make sure the patch is fully adhered by pressing firmly on it. It takes only a few seconds to complete. br>br> The most difficult part was staying underwater near the pool's bottom. To solve this, I placed a few rocks in a 5 gallon bucket and sank it to the bottom so I could have something to hold onto while I was down there. br>br>Overall, I'm impressed with how simple and effective this product is. I've only used about 10% of the Vinyl that came with the kit so far, and I've already fixed about 8 small holes. This product is definitely worth the money for the price. br>br>.

I was able to repair a significant tear in the liner
5/5

So far, everything has gone well. During the winter, a massive tree limb fell on my pool, causing significant damage. The tear was both large and low in the body. I wish the vinyl strips were larger because I had to overlap two 6" vinyl layers to cover the rip completely. The hardest part was walking across my freezing cold swamp of a pool to fix the hole after following the directions and smoothing out the patches with an old credit card to ensure it was perfect. I filled it up the next day, and it's held up well so far. I'll try to remember to update this after some time has passed, but in the meantime, it's been very useful.
