Up to 15,000 gallons of water can be treated with the Deluxe kit. To treat pools of varying sizes, all chemicals are formulated and pre-measured.

Stain, rust, and scale preventer removes unsightly stains caused by minerals and is especially useful in areas where the water contains a lot of iron.
Algaecide that is non-metallic kills and prevents algae blooms without causing your pool to stain.
Sun Sorb absorbs oils and lotions from the water in the pool.

Questions & Answers

My package arrived on Thursday. Additionally, there are no instructions. I'm looking for a place to get the directions. ?

Detailed Technical Information br>br>• First, take the first step. Begin filling the pool with water. Follow the directions for use on the back of both bottles of stain to add them together. This will aid in the control of minerals in the fill water, preventing staining and scale formation in your pool. • Step 2: br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br As the pool fills, add clarifier according to the label's instructions. • Step 3: br>br> Start the filter and circulate the water once the pool is full, then leave the system to recirculate the water overnight. This will ensure that the clarifier and stain are completely mixed with the pool water. • Step 4: br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br Use the pool shock to shock the pool after it has recirculated overnight. The shock treatment will aid in achieving the "polished" appearance you desire. Shock should always be broadcast directly into the pool. Brush away any particles that have accumulated. • Step 5 br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> For the first treatment, use algaecide as directed on the label.

Is there a step-by-step guide in this kit that tells you exactly when to insert which product and how long to wait?

Yes, it tells you which chemicals to add in what order, as well as how long to wait between each addition. It's the only kit we've ever used because it includes everything you'll need as well as simple instructions. We close our pool with the "In The Swim Ultimate Winterizing Kit" (closing kit) at the end of October and reopen with this kit at the start of April, and the water is always perfect, clean, and clear. These kits are fantastic. I hope you found this useful. Thank you for your time and consideration, and have fun with your pool.

Is it possible to use this in a salt water pool?

In a saltwater pool, you shouldn't need it. Make sure your salt levels are correct or that your pump is working properly. Prior to purchasing my salt water system, I used this kit. And it was primarily used as a shock treatment.

Would this be the right start-up kit for my 10' x 18' above-ground pool, or should I get the 15,000 gallon one?

What is the depth of it? If you are talking about 10ft x18ft x45in then you will have approximately 3,000 gallons of water at 80% full fill level. If the dimensions are 10x18x52, the volume is approximately 7,000 gallons. This kit is suitable for any tank with a capacity of less than 7500 gallons.

Selected User Reviews For In The Swim Deluxe Pool Opening Chemical Start Up Kit - Up to 15,000 Gallons

There are no instructions, which is preferable for seasoned users
3/5

This is for my Intex pool, which I purchased. I liked that it came in a single kit and that it contained chemicals that I could use other than when the pool was first opened. My assumptions were incorrect. I needed to get some more chemicals for pool maintenance. For my small, easy-to-set pool, I didn't need to buy this. However, I'm sure it's fantastic for people who have in-ground or larger above-ground pools. I'd also like to point out that there were no general instructions included. There were instructions for each chemical, but none for the entire kit. Finally, it included test strips, which I found to be very useful, but there were no instructions on what to do with the results of the strip test, which I found to be frustrating.

Due to a lack of actual necessities
3/5

Don't be fooled; this kit is a waste of money. Because of the following reasons: br>br>Benefits: br>br>
- It came with excellent pH strips that measure pH, alkalinity, and chlorine levels.

- Pool shock was included in the package. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- You won't know what you're doing if you've never balanced a pool or hot tub before. br>br>- It measures pH/alkalinity or chlorine levels but does not include any chemicals to make the necessary adjustments based on the results of the strip. br>br>- The chemicals in the kit, such as water clarifier, stain, and scale, only need to be applied once a week. on a monthly basis That is something that newcomers are unaware of. These aren't necessary for pool opening and won't help balance the pool environment. br>br>Ultimately, I'll only use the test strips and shocks from this "pool opening kit" to open my pool.

The instructions are written for a very large pool, making it difficult to calculate measurements
3/5

It's for a 10,000 gallon pool, but I only have a 750 gallon, so I had to do a lot of math to figure out how much to put in each. It's also not a complete kit; I had to order five more items to get everything I needed.

The majority of it was unnecessary
4/5

It's a nice starter kit, but my pool was already up and running - In Florida, the "winter" is covered with a blanket. With the exception of seven unlucky frogs, the water was remarkably clean when I removed the cover. I used the brush on the tops and bottoms of the walls. I started the filter/pump, added Shock overnight, needed another Shock the next night to bring the chemicals into range, and that was the end of it. Clarifier, Stain Away, and Algaecide were all sent to me, but I didn't require any of them. As a result, the two shock packages ended up being quite costly.

Fresh goods, prompt delivery, and so on
5/5

*pix* is the price for a certain quantity. We're getting ready to start a 16,000 gallon pool. This entire set costs less than a fifth of what it would cost at a local pool store. A single Algicide cost $25 at the pool store. This entire set of chemicals is a great deal at around $50. br>The best-by dates are two years away, and everything is well-packaged. This kit includes a new package of test strips, a pool scrubbie, four one-pound shock bags, two Algicide, two stain removers, and one clarifier. br>Just to be clear about something: All of these aren't used at the same time. We'll only use half a bottle of Stain Away, one bottle of Algicide, two shock, and six ounces of clarifier in our pool. This will free up a lot of space for the start-up next spring. The chemicals will last longer if you keep it cool and dry. We've never had a problem with In The Swim products, so I'm glad they're now available on Amazon. Directly from the company, you save on shipping:.

Worth the money, but the instructions are a little hazy, and the total value of the products isn't quite 30,000
3/5

Everything arrived as expected, with the exception that I received two smaller containers of algaecide that will most likely add up to the larger one shown. It met 80% of my requirements for opening my pool. I also required an alkalizing agent, which was not included but appears to be required in most pools. I had never opened a pool on my own before. This product's claim that it would include detailed instructions did not appeal to me. It didn't, only the labels on the bottles and a cryptic pamphlet did. There was nothing on their website about how to use things in the right order or how to test and adjust things, but there were some helpful articles. To figure it out, I turned to YouTube and various articles on the internet. Furthermore, up to 30,000 is a conservative estimate. The instructions on some of the products stated that they could hold up to 20,000 people. They appeared to work well in my pool, but they may not be suitable for all pools. Overall, I thought the price was reasonable at around $50 including shipping, but I was dissatisfied with the advertising for up to 30,000 and the lack of clear instructions. There was a gap in this kit.

I'm going to say no
3/5

The Algecide appears to be extremely light/thin, and unlike other products I've purchased, it does not sink. For the most part, it just sat on top of the water, causing foam to rise to the surface. After I finally got rid of the foam (it took 3 days), I rechecked the chemical levels and tried it again to see if it was something I did or the product, and it started foaming up again.

Summer is great fun
4/5

These worked well; it was my first pool, and I had no idea what to expect in terms of upkeep; they kept the pool clean and usable throughout the season. The only change I would make is to include a table in the instructions to make calculating how much to use easier. The instructions say how much to use for larger pools, but mine is an above-ground pool that isn't very big. So I just guessed how much to add; I think it would be less confusing for new pool owners if they had a table of common types and sizes of pools, along with how much to use in each. br>br>However, aside from guessing, my pool was clean and safe to swim in. Overall, it served its purpose, and I had a good time during the summer.
