I am very happy! This filter is fantastic; it's simple to set up and works flawlessly
5/5

br>br>My pond is 11' x 17' x 3-foot deep. 5', and my homemade bio filter/waterfall couldn't keep up. Normally, the water is clear in the early spring after the winter thaw, but this year it looked like pea soup, and I couldn't see my fish at all. I can see my fish again after only one week, and I am overjoyed. br>br>I read a lot of reviews before making this purchase, and a lot of people complained about how bad the instructions were. Despite the fact that they didn't appear to be written by a native English speaker, they were fairly simple to understand. br>br>I appreciate how simple the system is to use and maintain, as well as how quiet it is. The proper installation of the hose connectors In From Pond, Out To Pond, and Out For Cleaning was not clear from other reviews. There are two black and one transparent connectors, and the photos show the transparent one connected to the center connector with the fish symbol (Out To Pond), but I discovered that in order to view the water clarity on discharge, the transparent one should be connected to the right (or left, depending on viewing position) connector with the flower symbol (Out For Cleaning). br>br>I also discovered that the transparent disk intended to keep the discharge from leaking through the Cleaning Port only works properly if it is inserted first, followed by the rubber washer seal. Then simply unscrew the port, remove the disk, reattach the port, change the dial from pond (fish symbol) to clean (flower symbol), and compress the filter sponges by pressing the big button. The transparent connector makes it simple to determine how long to discharge to clear the muck from the filter. Switch the dial back to pond, disconnect the port, reinsert the clear disk and rubber washer, and reattach the port. br>br>I attached a corrugated pipe from the pump (Jebao 3,100 GPH Magnetic Drive Pond Pump) to the port with the pump symbol, I attached a corrugated pipe from the center port with the fish symbol and routed it to my DIY biofilter/waterfall, and I attached a 24' long corrugated sump pump clean Cleanout is now a simple procedure that requires no heavy lifting or disassembling and reassembling of the filter. br>br>I had watched a number of YouTube videos on how to build various pond biofilters and considered doing an upgraded DIY, but after considering material costs, time, and effort, I decided this was the most cost-effective option, and it is! I'm happy with it.

The quality is poor
3/5

For a season, it was fantastic. In May of 2018, I purchased this item. For the summer, I used it. It's time to put it away for the winter. This past May, I reintroduced it. The system is not working properly as of late June 2019. Backwash, bump button jams, and there's no way to tell if the UV light is on or off. Every time I needed to clean it, I had to disassemble the filter. For the first few weeks of the season, at least once a week is recommended. Taking it apart was a huge pain and extremely disgusting; I would not recommend it. A sum of nearly $200. 00 item shouldn't be limited to three months of use.

After only 9 months of operation, the lid began to leak
3/5

This filter has been in my possession for 9 months, and the lid has leaked several times. Clearly, UV and/or pressure are too much for the plastic. Make sure you don't throw your money away.

Simply press the "Add to Cart" button right now! This little one is a colossal beast! "Think 5 gallon bucket," one reviewer said, and he wasn't joking
5/5

My first thought was that because the area surrounding my pond is completely landscaped. I ended up digging a hole behind my pond (near the electrical) and burying the filter up to the bottom edge of the rim, just above ground level, with the hoses just above ground level. I bought 1" hose with string reinforcements built in from the blue Big Box store. Using hose clamps was also a good idea. Everything worked out beautifully. The pump - br>br> It was a huge difference going from a 1000 GPH to a 3200 GPH! My waterfall is now as powerful as the Niagara Falls! The UV Filter - This is an excellent pump that is well constructed. br>br> My pond was originally GREEN! I'd tried every natural remedy I could think of, but nothing seemed to work. We have a few koi in the pond, so we had to be careful with what we put in it. The pond was completely clear in about three or four days. I can now see the bottom of the pool (2 feet deep) from a distance of 30 feet! In addition, the backwash function is very useful. You don't need to disassemble the filter to clean it; simply turn the knob and the filters are cleaned automatically! When the backwash outlet is not in use, I attach a hose to it and cover it with a cap. I simply uncap the hose, turn the knob, and water the garden with it when I want to backwash! It's also a good way to empty the pond when doing partial water changes (which I did three of the first day to get rid of some of the green and the dye we put in the pond in an attempt to "FIX" it!). If your pond is giving you trouble, get this right away! I would have paid the full price of this package deal just for the filter, but the fact that you also get a good pump makes it an unavoidable purchase! Now is the time to buy!.

After three months of use, the back flush value has degraded
3/5

I installed it in April 2019 and it kept the algae at bay on my 1200 gallon in-ground pool, except for one broken part. There are about 30 small and a few medium-sized Koi in this ground pond. Every two weeks or so, I flushed my back. On arrival, I noticed that the back flush valve was difficult to turn, but I persisted. It was my first time using a filter like this. After 3 1/2 months, the back flush valve has finally failed. To inspect and verify the filter, I disassembled it. For the price, it appears to be a good filter, but I'll replace it with one from a different manufacturer who might have a better design and more durable moving parts. I didn't have any of the leakage issues that others had.

So far, the filter has performed admirably
5/5

I received this yesterday because my filter was failing. I installed it last night and the water was brown and I couldn't see the bottom. I also removed the old filter and pump this morning and the water was crystal clear. I noticed, as did others, that the purge spout was leaking water, so I covered it with a cap. I'm not sure why this pond leaks so badly, but on the plus side, cleaning a 1200 gallon plus pond only took 12 hours. Instead of a 1200 gallon pump, I used a 2000 gallon pump that I purchased recently. I'll have to look into why the purge leaks so badly; if it keeps my pond clean all of the time, I'll be fine. Due to the fact that I only had the filter for 12 hours, I was unable to test it.
