Thank you for your interest in the Replacement Filter Pads for TotalPond's PF850 and PF1200 UV.
Yesterday I had to clean them, so I measured them. The black one is 2 1/2 inches, and there is a 1 inch hole in the It was a bit of work to make the cut necessary to fit the pad around the tube, but I was able to do it. I need to replace the blue one, which was about 2 1/2" in diameter. Product of high quality.

A replacement for the Total Pond PF1200UV filter is not available with this unit. Filter pads have a hole in the center that is a lot too large to fit comfortably in the hand. This version has a 21/4" hole in the middle of the pads, which is very much in contrast to the original, which had 3/4" holes in the center for the tubing to go through. Since all the water would flow through the 21/4 inch hole if you put them in the way they are, the pads would not filter the water. It was great that I bought two sets so that I could cut up the second set to fill up the hole so that water can be The PF1200UV will require a different media than these since they are not compatible with it.
This step-by-step guide will help with the process. I bought the spare filters as a backup in case the dirty ones go bad or the pump has to go down. It is convenient to swap out dirty filters and clean the dirty ones easily. The finer grade filter is able to flush out an incredible amount of pond waste. It is important to clean these sponges in redundant filters on a weekly basis to maintain the quality of the water in my 1,200-gallon pond.
This filter is of excellent quality. A simple swap can be made from the old filters if you don't want to clean them. There is really no better option at this price.
I am unimpressed. As we are paying top dollar for these filters, you would think that Total Pond would make them so they could be used as intended without needing to be altered. It is not possible for the tubing to pass through the center of these. In both cases, you'll have to tear open the product (voiding any warranty) or find a radically different product altogether. We have the UV, pump, filter and filter system all installed in our house. I feel like we were scammed. The change to a different system would be costly, but we think we could do it Total Pond would be most welcome to hear from me.
The fact that I have extra filters means that I can clean one while I clean another, and the pond will stay cleaner.
This UV-proof canister filter gives you the same performance as the original. In order to install plumbing, I had to make a hole in the middle.
That's exactly what we were looking for in.
To maintain my pond, I had to buy new filters. I was able to get exactly what I needed from them. The only thing I had to do was cut a small piece in them to allow them to go around the hoses of the filter cartridges.
