I think that this is much too large - A water pump from 900 gallons a minute to an 1800 gallons a minute can be used in the adapter.
I've used it on an Danner 02722 pump that runs at 1200 GPH without a problem.

As a pre-season purchase (as I do each year), I purchased two of these filters for my pond pump An effective filtre. It is recommended that you start with them I own a Danner pump, so I needed a filter for it. My first impression on receiving the pre-evaluation was When I looked at the filters this year, it was apparent that There was a stiffness to the sponge, and the cells of the sponge looked larger. Overall, the sponge just felt 'different. ' As soon as I realized what was wrong, it was resolved. I began to find that the sponges were rapidly degrading and falling apart after only 5 or 6 weeks. Since my membership in Prime was created when the products were available, this time period was beyond the guarantee/return period for Amazon (even though I have been a Prime member since its inception). Thank goodness I saved the packaging and, by carefully investigating it, I was able to determine that these foam covers contained an antimicrobial agent Genuine Danner products were not used in the filters. A knockoff (simply made in a sweatshop in China) probably cost less than the originals. Two genuine Danner pre-owned garments ended up in my shopping cart The filters come from a competitor of Amazon and they are the genuine article. The item is not a genuine item and I will not purchase it from Amazon again since I cannot trust that a piece of foam worth 10 cents, which I paid $13, is accounted for. Invest your money wisely, and don't waste it.

I was not able to make this work I had a clog in an hour in my pond, and it problem is almost certainly that, although the water in my pond is crystal clear, there is a bit of algae. The plastic pump came with the plastic one I had previously used.
I really like this product. It does the job well.
