Greetings, Neal. When building a free form waterfall, we always say to create a "typical flow" you need 150 to 200 gallons per minute at a waterfall width of about one inch. In the case of this item, however, it is safe to assume that a flow rate of 118 gph per inch would be more appropriate since the maximum is 950 and an 8" wide weir. So, to sum up. With 700 gph, you can fill 6" or 3/4 of this weir, with 475 gph, 475 feet or half of it, or you could check to see if it will flow at half the max depth with 475 feet. I wish you a happy and healthy summer. Kindly, Nate Item

You may want to put a control valve on line to avoid overshooting.
Even if you place the spillway in water and place the lip over the edge of the container, it will not work. The water on the spillway and the water in the rest of the container are at the same level pressure (the pressure equalizes in the absence of an It might be possible to achieve your goal if you place a pump in the waterfall spillway box that moves the same amount of GPH (gallons per hour) as the vessel fills up. Nevertheless, it is possible for a container to overflow if it fills more rapidly than the pump can move. The pump will run dry and burn up if it is pumping more water than the rate in which the container is filling. Submersible pumps must remain submerged (the water level of the container must stay above the waterfall spillway box). You would need to cut a section of the container side and install the spillway there, sealing the entire cut to ensure that it stays watertight. To use the spillway in a container without a pump, cut a section out of the side and install the spillway. Water will enter the waterfall spillway box by overflowing from the sides at that point, so a hole in the box is not necessary since it will enter the waterfall box as it rises above the level where the waterfall is installed. Please keep in mind that water will only pass through the spillway when the container is actively being filled (the spillway works only as an overflow). You would need a collection reservoir to catch the water after it leaves the spillway and pump it back into the container if you would like to create a loop that has a constant waterfall effect. In either case, adding a pump will not give you a waterfall unless the container is continuously filled with water.

Only the overall length is not mentioned in the description of the item. According to the manufacturer, these dimensions are 13 x 8 inches. Eight by four. It is 17x8 in size for me. Five by six. I need this to fit in a limited space because I need the item for a limited time. There is also a hose connection exiting the lower rear of the spillway and extending a distance of four feet. You can use a 1-inch hose connection if the smallest is used. The dimensions provided by the manufacturer are considerably different from this one.
There is a 500ga per hour pump attached which creates a good flow but I propped it up a little bit in the back to make sure that it does not come over. There is a long adapter that can fit the tubing of many different sizes on the back. Just to make sure the hose clamp won't come off, I use a hose clamp. An adapter of this length might be too long for you if you need it in a small area. This is placed on an outdoor tub made of 500ga Rubbermaid.
You can easily build your own waterfall using this simple and effective method. Also, I was able to filter water with barley straw that I placed in the well. In my opinion, the only change I would like to see is for the hose connector in the back to be at a 90 degree angle instead of It would be easier to make a 180 degree bend if the hose was tighter around the box rather than being strung further out in back.
In a nutshell, This waterfall box measures 8" and is very handy. Although the company claims it can only handle 950 GPH, my unit takes 1200 GPH without any problems. The flow rate must not be less than 950 GPH. Any flow below that would be pathetic. As it stands, mine runs at 1200 gallons per hour. I always have plenty of room, never overflows. Here are pictures showing the waterfall and fountain when they were new, plus a video showing what the flow is like with a 1,200 GPH pump (flow rate doesn't seem to change when the full volume of 1,200 GPH is directed toward the waterfall box). In my waterfall box I have bio media as a bio filter, and in the pond I also have a box filter (as a prefilter). It is recommended that you require at least 100GPH per inch of weir for waterfalls, so an 800GPH pump is the least size you will need for this waterfall box to look decent since the weir is 8". That should result in a full sheet of water if you have it, though somewhat less flow than what is shown in my photos/video. When you have much less than that, you should not even move it, since the water will just trickle instead of creating a solid sheet of water that spreads across it.
I have a small backyard pond, and it's the perfect size I just needed something like that to turn my feature into a waterfall. This is an easy to install program. It appears to be durable enough to last for a long time.
Definitely worth the money. There are different sizes of tubing that can be attached to it because of its length. Using larger tubing means you will need to cut it Buy the tubing on Amazon, but not the suggested tubing. There's something wrong with the.
In order to properly filter my 165 gallon pond, I used a Danner filter and falls. Filter boxes with waterfall spouts look better as they sit lower than other filters, and the waterfall spout is the only thing visible above the water. Neither fitting has ever caused a problem. This would be an ideal way to filter the water and introduce it in an aesthetic way to the bigger pond. The box just came plain and I cut a piece of filter material to fit (in an upside-down V, as shown in their product information for versions that have I say that for my own benefit. In my case, the flow is appropriate because the pump is a 500 GPH one. It should be enough to get a nice stream without destroying A Fishmate UV filter box with low exits looked terrible in the landscaping and had to sit higher than the pond, so I had to raise the entire box above it. The UV filtration may not be necessary in my case, so I'll figure it out. Should I do this, I will put a separate unit in. It was a very good day. The solution is good.
It helped achieve a better flow and improves water containment and cost little to no money. The waterfall and koi pond were the perfect compliment to one another. The next project we want to build will be another pond, and I'm thinking of buying another for that purpose. This was a great buy and helped us stay within our budget for our first quarantine pond. If I were to buy a similar spillway at a garden center, I would choose this instead of the more expensive closed-in models. A new, higher powered pump has been installed in this spillway, and now I love it even more.
