The fabric on my pond skimmer hasn't been in use long enough to determine if it will be durable. It appears from other reviews that the major complaint by others is the fabric mesh does not hold up well and wears out quite quickly. The outcome won't be known for a while. Due to the reviews on this, I was hesitant to buy it. If the manufacturer changed the netting material since those reviews were written, that might have impacted the review. It's been over a month since I installed this. I found it to be a perfect fit for our system and it has held up well in the long run. There are no holes, no rips, and no signs that it will wear out I am not aware of any alternatives that can be found for debris nets of this size.
