I use this in my pond's filter basket and it works well. In that basket, there was no filtering media and only the basket's grid, which was too coarse to catch the needles that fell onto the water. A lot of people seem to respond well to this media. Although it's not perfect, I expect to clean the pump intake far less often as a result of the fit.

The Savio filter that I use for my 750 gallon pond uses NPF. Material that could have easily been used as a replacement for Savio's original filter. The media cut to fit in the two holders and works just like the Savio media. One and a half million media holders reside in the United States. The filter is 25" deep, so there was some room to thicken a finer media behind this coarser medium in order to polish the water further. In order to purchase some, I bought some.
To have a larger filter box, I made one out of a storage container and used approximately three of them. There will be 6 x 12 inch filter pads to fit the new opening in the box. The piece worked, but it's nice to have one solid piece now rather than a flimsy piece like I had been using previously. In addition to the fish getting sucked through the filter media, I also found that the ill fitted filter pads were making the filter media adhere to the fish. The material on this roll seems very heavy duty and I expect it to last for quite some time.
The filter works great in my plastic outdoor garden pond filter basin, and I love how it makes the muck fall out. In order to reinstall it, all I had to do was hose it down.
Throughout my career, I have placed more than 100 orders. Over a year has passed since the first material was installed.
