To prevent our dock from being damaged by ice, we are using this. Our local marina, which uses them for their docks, highly recommended it as being effective and easy to use.

My honest opinion is that this unit is just a disappointment. An item I bought was a tailored suit I needed a new Ice Eater to replace one I had for years and was finally forced to replace. In the end, I chose this one over a Kasco It was $100 cheaper than what I had been searching for. I made a big mistake there. Straight out of the gate, this game is challenging. This dock was difficult to install. You have to balance out the ropes to make sure they are centered, and then mount them to the I found the whole system to be easier than previous units I owned. I found that the older unit I had been running for years had much more vibration when I first started using the newer one. This machine had a smaller effect area than the ice eater and the unit of my neighbor (a different brand, I believe it was In the end, it just died after 3 months. My power was good when I tested it. There were hums coming from the unit, but the blades would not turn. In the end, I had to uninstall the unit and then reach out to Taylor Made for warranty support. We had a terrible time. Honestly, I should have bought another ice eater instead of going back.
