The gas powered equipment would be my preference, but gas powered equipment is cost prohibitive for these tools, so this was the top-rated electrical unit. Although this product looks like so much plastic, and I have not been a big fan of plug-in headphones before, I gave it a try nonetheless You can find lawn equipment at any home supply store. The packaging was easy to open and everything was there when I opened it. Putting it together was very easy for me. It was mentioned that some people expressed displeasure over the cheap phillips screws that were used in As I had just a slight problem with one of the screws, I screwed it into the handle first to start the thread and then removed it, reassembled the handle, and then reattached the phillips screw to it. I think it's a great idea! I had no problems with the cable clamps but the cable seemed to be much longer than needed due to which it sticks out in a loop, and it sometimes got caught on things as I went around the corner. By moving the cable to the inside of the handle, I was able to fix the problem. *This machine was put to the test going over my very rough lawn for the first time. I didn't think that it would do much because of the drought we've been experiencing here in California for 4 years. Since we had such a wet winter, the ground was not dried out much, but I was still not WOW, I was able to run my first line down the yard on my first try! I didn't think it would be able to cut straight through the old grass. I felt as if the motor were very powerful and ripped through it as if it were My jaw dropped at just how much the scarifier pushed The yard is about 550 square feet, so I didn't take too long. I was only going to test it, but then got carried away and did it all. As I did not want to rake up all thatch, I used my blower to blow everything into a huge pile, which I then flung into the pasture to be eaten by the cows. After that, I ran the blower for a second time and was finished with the job. It was quite an experience to dethatch my lawn after not doing it for the past 10 years. I was impressed with how quick, light, and efficient the machine was. This machine comes with a two year warranty, but if you think about it, how often would you use this? Maybe twice a year at the most, so you probably won't get much use out of it before the warranty runs out. After listening to it and feeling it cut through the mess I had, I don't think that would happen. If it breaks down on the third use, your warranty has already expired, but I doubt that would happen.
