Are you satisfied with the durability of the handle?

As far as I can tell, I chose this handle over a "T" shape because the handle itself seems to allow me to rotate with less force. It has been very sturdy and stable over the Though I still use a gas trimmer, I really like it and am so glad I got away from the gas mower. I often use this method for weeding difficult areas, such as a rocky area you can angle up on one wheel as you push a bit As a result, the blades are able to catch the I found that I could handle this issue very effectively and quickly with the shape handle, as well as the quality construction. I will note that the foam cover on the handle is deteriorating. But I wear gloves, so I don't have to worry!

Can anyone tell me how well this mower ( 18" 5 blade) works in ?

There are parts of my yard that are shady and parts that receive direct sunlight. When grown in the sun, St. August grass grows well. In my opinion, this mower is very good at what it does. Let it go at your own pace. Don't let it drag on.

How big is the mower when it is assembled? Based on my assumptions, the area will be Approximately 5 inches by 5 inches is the shipping size (unassembled). ?

From wheel to wheel, the width is 24 inches. A little over 50 inches tall when An inch and a half is the width of the blade. The following tips will ensure that your lawn will look like new after every mow. In addition, you will have to check the screw attachments on a regular basis. Sadly, one of mine is no longer with me. Vibrations loosen things up, so I guess that's what happened. Having it for one year was a good decision for me.

This is just adorable! I adore My name is Jean and I am 60 years old, 5 foot nothing, and I suffered from a back injury as well as a knee injury
5/5

It will take me about an hour to mow about an acre. There are no flat areas on Earth. There is nothing worse than a gas mower that won't start and a repairman that claims to be coming to fix it but fails to show up. Because I was frustrated, I decided to take a chance and try a reel mower, and what an incredible discovery it turned out to be! Reviews on this one were excellent, so I decided to buy it. One of the concerns I had was whether a reel mower could handle a yard of mine. Well, it does a great job and much better than a gas mower by virtue of being so light and compact. And I am not nearly as tired from it as a gas mower.

I didn't know if I was going to manage using a reel mower to mow a yard as big as mine. It turns out I'm also an expert at handling it! When I first tried it, I threw my knee out and had to give it up. My fault was that I tried walking as fast as I could because I thought I had to in order to get Eventually, I realized that wasn't the case as I slowly made my way across the yard. After spending a few minutes with an ice pack on my knee, I went back to mowing and slowed down my pace to make it more comfortable. Mowing my yard takes me two hours in total, so I am able to work out four times a week for 30 minutes each. With this little mower, I am sure to lose a few pounds as well. Additionally, the bonus is great! I was pleasantly surprised by the way the mower came packaged and came easy to take out of the box. All that needs to be done is to assemble the handle and then attach it to You do not need any tools for this. As per the instructions, the handle comes in three pieces and they must be assembled before mounting the handle to the In spite of my best efforts, I was unable to slip the end of the handle over the posts of At the end, I ended up taking the bottom part of the handle off and mounting it to the mower, then reattaching the top to the mower. I feel very empowered by this little mower and would definitely recommend it to others!.

A REEL mower is exactly what you need if you're looking to go REEL! are already certain you are going to switch to a reel mower, you can stop reading and go buy it now
5/5

so far has worked without a hitch for an entire season. This is an excellent price. It is a classic design that does not require Please consider switching to an electric mower if you are using a gas mower or if you are still trying to decide if you want to do so. We The pros include You can just start mowing, it takes up less storage space in the garage, it's very easy to stop and start mowing when you need to move something else out of the way, and the scissor cutting mechanism gives the freshly cut lawn a very neat appearance. A power mower makes the grass look like it was butchered, whereas the grass looks natural when cut with a manual mower. The cons are Cuts only when forward, so it's a pain to work in tight corners and long grass - especially when taller and taller weeds are present - never cuts everything, especially taller weeds like onion grass You have to go around with a string trimmer and clean up the mess often. Your cutting width is narrow, so you have to cut the grass regularly. If you let it grow to long, you'll not I personally have a funny sidebar for you One of my neighbors said to me, "but you're a vegan, aren't you?" One day they ran into me and said to me "but you're vegan, aren't you? It was "No, I'm an omnivore" from then on. They replied, "yes, but we see you out in the field with that manual mower. ". It seems that using a reel mower is the sign of a hippie and being You should be forewarned then! I love it.

This mower is GREAT! It is very easy to assemble, just It is so nice to have I had given up on my husband and our broken lawn mower and my house began to look vacant
5/5

Our lawn was cut with the weedeater four weeks ago (DO NOT do that for a yard that is half an acre or larger). Thus, I purchased this mower as an alternative to replacing my husband and/or my I found it easy to assemble. This is what I did. We just mowed our half-acre plus yard and it was smooth sailing from start to finish. It's easy to operate, does a great job cutting, and doesn't pose any problems with pushing. A half acre of wood needs to be cut but if you're in good shape you can do it without too much effort. One hour of pushing a mower costs around 300 calories. As a 70-year-old woman in good shape, I'm guessing that's not a bad deal. The product is amazing!! I would HIGHLY recommend it!!.

For flat yards with few hassles, this is the perfect mower
5/5

This is a product that I bought almost a year ago after conducting extensive research on various web sites, and it's exceeded In addition to getting good exercise, I also get to mow my yard with it, so I can feel as if I am hitting Aim for a lighter height. Weight woman) as well as the end of a row without any difficulty. The fact that it takes up so little space in the garage is also a plus for me. My understanding of reel mowers was shaped by the reviews I read about them, which point to a few things I found to be true. You have to be patient about having your momentum stopped while you help them pick out whatever got stuck on the blade. 1) They'll choke on twigs, rocks, tree leaves, mulch, walnut shell halves, etc. 2) They work best in flat, level yards. **3) They are much quieter than one powered by electricity. won't give your lawn that manicured look that a gas or electric mower will The only way I am able to get around this is to hire a lawn service to come mow and edge once a month. The following is the following Eddie Izzard monologue from 'Glorious' that may come to mind when using a reel mower on grass that is too tall "We had the big lawn mower," he replied. Compared to my grandpa's, this was much better. The ceremony was a Pushmi-based one Pullyu is concerned with equipment for cleaning. The triangle of lawn I remember my grandad having belonged to him. Oh, for goodness sake, the grass would say. ' Hod bltd “Stay down, boys. ” The instructor instructed. You need to stay There's nothing to worry about. It's just an air raid. ' Hod bltd In order to flatten the lawn, he'd need a rake. Don't let it get in the way. If they had their way, they would flinch The thump of his walking away signaled the end of our conversation. In general, I have been pleased with my reel mower from Great States. It has been used almost every week for almost a summer and a half now, and I haven't had to sharpen them or adjust them As soon as I needed to replace one of the fasteners (these should always be hand tightened before using the mower as they loosen up and can fall off as the mower uses), the company was very responsive. Despite not having any prior experience, the assembly instructions made sense for this non-experienced user It's technical but it's not By mechanically - It was unavoidable to follow an able-minded person, although attaching the handlebar to the mower was not an easy task Since I did not have the strength in my hands, I had to get a third party to do it for me. It's probably not a bad thing, but the rubber padding on the handlebars is starting to crack and split (see pictures). If I were to buy another reel mower, I'd buy another Great States because I'm satisfied with the one I currently have. If I were to buy a wider reel mower, I would go with a Great States once again. A wider model would have been more bulky and would be more difficult to maneuver. Thus, I opted for the narrower In general, I find these mowers to be lightweight and not awkward to operate, although the fact that they have to overlap the rows on each cut means I don't get the full 15 inches of blade width.

Photo 1 It is anticipated that the mower I bought will last quite a while. In Photo 3, I mowed the left-hand half with a reel mower, while the right-hand half (the neighbor's yard) was mowed with a power mower a few days earlier. Having mowed half of the lawn with the reel mower, I haven't mowed half of the lawn yet. Pictures 2 and 3 show what has been done. About a season's worth of mowing causes the rubber padding to wear out.
