Questions & Answers

In order to prevent the rear door from opening when using the mulching function, how do you close it? I am kicked in the face by the blowing grass and dust from mine. ?

Mulching is not one of the functions of this A Black and Decker 20" corded electric mulching mower MM2000 is rated at 13 amps and has a 20" blade. To create the "mulching" environment for the blade, the carriage has a slightly differently shaped rear area with a plastic guard. This guard fits into the opening on the underside of the carriage. There are two options available with the MM 2000, either remove the plastic guard (shield) and attach the grass catcher, or keep it in place and run the grass cutter as usual. The same mistake was made by me, but the mower was essential for my needs and I Even though it is a powerful one, I concede that it lacks mulching ability. Having my grass bagged and thrown in to be trashed must be a pain! Now that I have a mulching mower, I have to bag my grass and throw it in plastic bags. I am aware- I don't understand!

Do you think a 13-amp cord with a 100-foot length is powerful enough?

The current rating is If you need a longer extension cord than that, you can use one of the more than 12 wire gauges (more than 16 is not recommended). The extension cord must be 12 American wire gauge

Is there a voltage difference between this electric mower and a gas mower. Can it be operated at 230V at 10A without tripping out?

The 110V/120V input of this model can be used.

I need another blade. Where can I find one?

Over a couple of years ago, I ordered a replacement blade for one of my black and decker tools through Amazon.

During the course of two years, the building burned out
3/5

When it worked, it was disappointing in terms of quality and performance. In fact, I came to the end of my rope An electric socket connected to a mower outlet started smoking after welding a 12 gauge extension cord to it. Both of those are gone as well. I. The construction All parts of this mower, including the wheels, have plastic in them, with the exception of the handles and blade. Tires and covers with rubber are much more traction-enhancing than tires with plastic that hold the tightening knobs on the handle are often lost in the grass and come undone. The performance was In these situations, grass accumulates around the blade, causing the mower to stall.

A mower that is unsafe to use
3/5

The way this was presented just didn't appeal to me. It is dangerous, since it has to be powered by the power cord. However, I am not aware of one that is powered by battery and self-propelled. It is unsafe for me, since when you push down on the handle it falls towards the ground. I am 79 years old and am prone to falling easily. It is impossible to get any support. In my opinion, this mower is not recommended.

It's awesome to deal with Amazon Customer Service! In order to replace an older model, I purchased this one
4/5

When I pressed the button and moved the bail, the new one did not work and would not stay on. In the end, I called Amazon Customer Service and they determined that the product was defective. They arranged to have a new one delivered immediately and notified their shipping company so they could pick up the defective Using the replacement mower is a great experience. It's nice to have Amazon as a partner.

Put the rag down and clean up
3/5

When grass builds up in its small bag or in its side discharge chute, this unit frequently stalls and turns off. It's time to clean up. I think "Stop and Clean" would have been a better name for this mower.

The Black & Decker electric I just bought is my second
5/5

The pros are It is easier to maneuver and push the mower with the larger rear wheel than with the smaller Bahco mower Prior to owning this machine, I owned an electric mulcher. To turn the mower, the front of the mower is lifted by simply pulling the handle on the handle. The weight of the mower is balanced, so it doesn't take much force to turn. When I use several types of grass in my yard, I find that the winged cutting blade lifts the grass nicely to achieve an even cut It is the reason I purchased the BEMW213, since my mulching mower is not capable of this task. This mower's body is made from plastic, which makes it light and easy to handle Prior to it, I was a Business & Marketing analyst I have used this mower for 8 years and the plastic body is still strong and looks great. The cons are key (on/off) handle must be held firmly and continuously to prevent the motor from stopping Occasionally, it will shut off without warning. In the on/off switch box, the power cord retainer is too small to hold a 12-foot power cord 100 ft from end to end should be corded with ga As the side discharge chute falls off when bumped, we had to come up with an alternative. Those who cause trouble. There needs to be an update to the owner's manual. I'm still pleased with the performance of the mower despite its quirks.

I have a few things to say
4/5

As an owner of a home for the past few years, I've gone through quite a few electric weed whackers and lawn My experience with corded and battery operated batteries goes back a few years. Corded mowers and weed whackers have been the best for me out of all of them. Black+Decker has proven to be the most reliable of these. Power delivered by corded devices was more consistent than by battery operated devices. I found that I had to start out on the yard closest to the power outlet first and then move further away from the outlet. As the cord unravels as you move further from the outlet, it tends not to be as in the way. Occasionally, I must move the cord out of the way, but it's not a lot of trouble. I also find that using a steady and easy motion when I am weed whacking or mowing is the most effective. The speed of a slow walk is not fast enough. In these cases, mowers had the best results when going down a line and backing up along its path. It is similar to how a vacuum cleaner works. It will produce the cleanest cut path and will be less likely to have rough spots. Basically, my lawn is a mixture of different types of grass because I tried experimenting for years to try and find what type was best for me, weeds that grew in between the patches, and finally me giving up on discovering the "perfect" type of grass. As a result, I've put quite a bit of use into all the mowers and whackers I've used over the years. I have complied a review of this mower after all that. The pros of this are I love how powerful and compact it is. A big plus of this blade is how it sweeps up the grass or weeds into itself for a much There is no doubt about the power of the motor. The last mower I owned was a smaller model. Compared to the original, it had a weaker motor with a smaller angle of attack. My old mower folded up a little bit smaller than my new mower when folded up! Pros - Does not include the following cons There is no heavy lifting involved in this mower. My opinion would be that it was too light. There are some grasses that can support quite a bit of weight and are very compact. The last mower I had, I had to put about 30lbs of weights on it to make sure it went down far enough so that it would be effective at chopping emerald zoysia and some of the more dense patches of grass I have. In the end, that led to "bad" spots on those patches that took a long time to heal. The grass greened over fairly quickly, and I was able to mow it as regularly scheduled so it was fine once it became used to being that short. The blade doesn't seem to be replaceable, is it? As far as this one goes, I am not 100% certain, because I thought I remember seeing a posting saying it was wrong? have no memory of ever seeing a replacement blade available for purchase anywhere. The blade itself is one of the things I like to keep on hand as a replacement for items I think may need it in the future. Despite the mow being positioned near the edge, the mower is really not on the edge. A lot of space is devoted to the wheel base. It almost looks like a go-kart The mower can't cut all the way to the edge of the yard, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing since it's better to use an edger for tight spots. Some people might be disappointed that the mower cannot reach the edges of their yards completely. Here are a few suggestions for you It would be more effective if the mower were either heavier or the wheels had a smaller profile. There is almost nothing but hard plastic in the mower. so light you would not believe, but it is actually bad for grasses with more dense roots. When the mower is riding on top of the grass instead of sinking deep enough to cut well, the grass looks mashed up. The body would be heavier if it were heavier. Plastic wheels (again, super light) are a little wide and made of plastic as well. The wheels would sink more deeply into dense grass if they had a smaller profile. Would a combination of the two work best?
Also, I recall someone saying that this mower doesn't roll well in the mud due to how light it is? The item in question is a corded electrical unit, and I would like to kindly remind that soul of that fact! I don't get why you are trying to use a corded electrical device in the Could you also be the type of person who thinks it's ok to use a hair dryer while in the bath or shower?.

The mower has a nice light weight
5/5

This is not a great lawn tractor, but it is easy to push and light. It is easy to pour grass into and out of the grass bag. Having my son mow the lawn, who is 14 years old. There is no problem except you have to watch the cord. I think if they could get a retractable cord, it would be awesome.

This lawn mower is a champion
5/5

My congratulations are due to the mower's designers. A quiet blade, a blade that cuts like a dream, a blade that is light enough to be maneuvered easily around a lawn, and one that cuts through The only complaint I have is that little switch rod that sticks out so clearly. If a pair of gloves is not worn when pushing the mower around the lawn, it can be very difficult to maneuver. Rather than reducing costs, the engineers should have designed it with a larger diameter in order to offer the user more comfort. As for how long the sponge grip will last, that is yet to be seen.
