The tiller comes with a quart of oil and instructions that state to put oil in before using, but they don't state how much oil to put in. Just don't do over or under filling, and you are ready to go. There was half a quart of oil on the floor in the kitchen so it seemed to be needed. It was easy to assemble following the directions and everything fitted well. When I turned it on, the engine started right up and I was pleased that it was too quiet to be My plan is to handle minor grading work around my property with this tiller. Several areas of my property are where trees were cut down and the stumps ground up long ago, which left the ground very even in those spots. An idea that I had was to have a landscaper bring out a Bobcat to grade these areas for me, but he would only charge me I am not going to allow it! In other words, I bought this Tazz tiller specifically to flatten the mounds and low spots on my property. I didn't really know how well it would work so I bought it anyway. Yesterday I tilled up two areas that were about 10'x10' squares to smooth them out and I was completely surprised by how great it worked. Once I had tilled 2 of the "humps" each for about 30 minutes, I was able to rake it smooth and start seeding the grass. I've been pleased with the result much more than I expected. very durable because I hit a few rocks in the 4' range and it was not damaged in the least. This tiller is the best by far for someone like me, who has no strong arms. I don't have to ask my husband to help me anymore! I am 57 and cannot do a great deal with my arms, but this tiller is by far the best! Despite its shake, it is not very intense.
