Questions & Answers

This tiller can be used to break up clay, which is mixed in with the soil and can become pretty hard. Anyone use it to do so?

In the past, I have tended to a lot of gardens. In my clay soil, I amend it with compost or replace it with a mushroom soil mix, and everything seems to enjoy When it comes to the clay soil that I was faced with removing from the beds before replacing it with fresh dirt, I can tell you if you try digging through it dry you'd as well As it turned out, I learned how to do things the easy way the hard way. Prepare the ground for excavation/rototilling by irrigating it and deeply moistening it many hours before you start. With this roto tiller, you can make quick work of digging through soft soil once the water settles in. The soil should no longer be wet or dry hard. When it is wet, it is harder to dig in, but when it is dry you can work in it. After you experiment a little, you will be able to find out the right level of moisture and how long it takes to apply it and let it cure.

How can I replace the tines on my ?

I called the 800 number and was quoted $5 for a new tine. I have been using mine for almost two years now. Shipping is included in the price. There are very quick and helpful shipping times with them, as well as their people. It is comparable to other tillers in this price range. You will be glad you bought this one, I have used the Mantis and it provides the same results for less than a third of the price.

The lever is hard to hold down, how easy is it? It is difficult for me to hold things. ?

This is not an arduous task.

Selected User Reviews For Earthwise TC70001 11-Inch 8.5-Amp Corded Electric Tiller/Cultivator

The small electric tiller I chose was the most powerful tool I could find, and it quickly turned up the dirt
5/5

I checked out several electric tillers on Amazon and here are the reasons why I selected it. The 25' cord of my 12 amp vacuum cleaner gets pretty warm, so I knew I didn't want to try to run 12 amps down 100' of cord to a giant * The tillers that draw 7" only are 14" in diameter. The motor was only rated for 5 amps, but I read reviews about them burning up, so I figured it was too much for such a small motor to handle. It seemed like an excellent candidate to use the Earthwise tiller. We have 8 now. The cut will take 5 amps for an 11" reduction. Despite the fact that the battery doesn't burn up, it provides strong performance. This handle has a single connected handle, which I like. My favorite part about having wheels was having them. The tiller has them on one model but not on another, and they really help to prevent it Now that I have used the tiller, I am satisfied with my decision. I find it to be extremely sturdy, well made and easy to use. This little device is not a toy, despite its size. Despite its strength, this tool is a very good one for removing dirt and doing it quickly. It took me a little over an hour to spread mulch in my front yard, a 10' x 40' area. If I didn't have to deal with roots from the overgrown bushes that were there at the beginning, the job would have gone faster. As soon as it stops raining and the ground dries out, I will use it to do my entire back yard as well. You should start at the front of your area and pull the tiller back while it's cutting when using this type of tiller. When you've done the rowing, pull back about 10', let it walk you up, and then pull back again. By using this method you can clear your area quickly and keep the cord off to the side so you don't trip You should not make long rows from front to back or run back and forth or you will end up cutting your cord. Don't use this with wet soil as it will lump and clump. The soil will break down into a smooth powder when it is dry. I purchased this tiller for the lowest cost in its class when I bought it, but the price soon jumped to the highest price. Then it went down again not long after. Put this in your shopping cart and watch for it to go low before you order. The price seems to fluctuate every few days, so put this in your cart and watch for it to go down. Saving money will allow you to do that. It was my pleasure to write this review. I trust you found it useful and hope you enjoy.

Impressed with what I saw overall
4/5

My first experience using a tiller is incomplete, so I do not have anything significant to compare it to. The light weight and sturdy construction are appealing to me. This earthwisw TC7001 was able to dig out the weeds and let the grass grow. Only issue I had in the past was the giant weeds getting caught in the tiller and bringing it to a halt. I had to stop the machine and untangle A PROTIP IS Grass that is growing on your land should be cut down with a weed wacker. The pros are Please be patient. The light weight of the product - It is easy to assemble
Achieves the goal in a timely mannerCONS Please be patient. Grass gets caught up in the tiller and you have to stop and pull it out. Please be patient. The tiller tends to walk away from you if you pull it towards you it seems to work better if you pull it nearer to you. I don't like the way you have to push the button and then pull the trigger to turn it on. In general, I could not be more pleased with this tiller, it did the job and at this price I am unable to find better.

This is how my tiller compares The Earthwise, Sun Joe, and Troy crews - Aside from Bilt & Black & Decker, Greenworks and Mantis also make equipment
5/5

The summary is Here is the bottom line I picked the Earthwise since it had a lot of features for a low price. Even though it's not perfect (as could be said for the others, as well), it's a much better workhorse than the other systems that cost twice as much (or even The speed of your tines will help you get through tough materials. It tends to buckle easily, so that is its biggest problem. Review of the entire package My 25-year old 2 cycle gas tiller/cultivator was in need of replacement (engine still runs, but transmission bit the dust) and so I chose an electric model based on what others in my gardening club had to say about them. The only question is which one do I In the span of a few weeks, I had the chance to test out numerous apps, and I thought I would share my findings to help others in the same boat. I will take a look at the Sun Joe first Incorporates the following.

This product is very very limited in warranty and has very very flimsy teeth
3/5

It is a great little guy, with a motor of awesome power that is so easy to operate, but after about 5 hours working yard soil with last year's tomato roots, one of the teeth broke away. It is a shame that they used flimsy metal with such a powerful motor. A UPDATED BRIEF My product is still under warranty, so I submitted a claim below is the response I received from them This week's article
Good afternoon,
good news they are not covered by warranty. Please let me know when you hear back. In any case, you need to order the tine set RTC70001SET for $33 in order to place an order. 02 + S & T A set of replacement tines and hardware for each tine is included in the purchase of the hardware. Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it.
