Thank you for your inquiry. The recommended flow rate for this Matala diffuser is 25 gallons per minute. 80 lpm. ALITA ALITA ALITA ALITA ALITA ALITA ALITA ALITA ALITA AL Only 20 lpm can be generated by a 15A motor. This is likely to cause problems with the pump as well as a lower-than-ideal bubble output. I recommend airstone diffusers that are around 9" in diameter or rubber diffusers that are around 6" in diameter. If you require additional assistance, please contact Pond. Thank you for your inquiry. The conversion factor for 9100 CIM is approximately 5. 2 CFM is a lot of airflow, and it's too much for the 9" disc diffuser. I recommend the 12" model because it can easily accommodate a 5. The output is 2 CFM. If you require additional assistance, please contact Pond. I like how it evenly distributes air to my 1/4-acre pond, thanks to my solar air pump. I ended up getting an elbow fitting that I then attached to my sinking air hose, and it works great because when it receives air from my pump, it floats, which is great because my other diffuser would get blocked up with muck from the bottom of the pond over time. From there, I hung a couple of 4 ounce fishing weights and a 16 ounce fishing weight about a foot from the diffuser's bottom with long zip ties. It is able to float off the bottom while aerating as a result of this. It works well and I am satisfied with the product, despite the fact that it is a little pricey.
After doing some research, I decided to buy this for my 1. Pond with a surface area of 5 acres. Its performance is extremely satisfactory when used in conjunction with a high-quality weighted airline. It creates fantastic turbulence while also effectively diffusing the air, especially when used in conjunction with an air compressor that moves at around 3. 5 cfm. From my own personal experience, I've gained the following wisdom: Where it is located in terms of depth makes a HUGE difference - It's better if you can go deeper. This item is also not self-contained. weighted; Something will have to be used to weigh it down. Personally, I secured the diffuser to the hose by running the final hose connection through the center of half a broken cement block (the kind with two holes when not broken). So long as the connection is good and secure, it won't be too heavy to lift out of the water and move. Overall, I'm very happy with this product, and after only two months, I've already noticed a noticeable difference in the nature of my pond!.
I went to Home Depot and bought brass fittings for $12 to connect it to my 5/8" id tubing.
Bubbles rolling around with a lot of turbulence and very little air pressure. For irrigation, we have a pond with a 20-foot windmill. We were using 8" airstones, but they require a lot of air pressure to work properly, and we couldn't get good flow with them. So far, the new disc has been fantastic.
There are a lot of fine bubbles in this product. This is how I put it together. Zipper for a milk crate (farm pond) tethered to a 55 gallon drum lid (weight footing to keep it from sinking into the mud).
I'm very pleased with the even distribution of bubbles. A plastic disk with a npt pipe connection on the bottom makes up the unit. A rubbery membrane covers the top of the structure. To make it sink to the bottom, I had to use a brick as a weight. At a depth of about 3 feet, I used a 40 watt diaphragm pump. Around the aerator, there is excellent circulation. It appears to be very efficient and effective. Very happy with this product because it leaves a large ice-free area.
This was purchased for use in my 900 gallon aquaponics system. With my 80 litter/min aerator, it's a dream come true. This defuser comes highly recommended.
My pond is 6 feet deep and has a 25-foot diameter (it's a big round pond), and it seems to be doing fine. We'll see if it helps clear up the muck over time; it's in the middle of the pond, and tons of tiny bubbles are rising to the top and dispersing across the surface.
