Questions & Answers
The deicer is controlled by the temperature of the air. The C20 controller functions as a timer as well as a thermostat. If you have any questions, please contact CSJ. 833-Midwestponds J Gardens/Midwestponds J Gardens/Midwestponds J Gardens/M 779- 2837
Yes, it has a chance of succeeding. 105 CFM
I'd say the 2 based on the instructions that came with the unit. It is not possible to reach 5 degrees. it can be adjusted
If you don't use a timer, it won't work. Normally, you would connect this to an outdoor outlet while keeping the unit out of direct sunlight, and then connect your deicer to the female end of this outlet. There is a male and female side to the thermostat plug.

It appears to work well, and we were confident in its accuracy because it turned on and off in response to the ambient air temperature when we tested it. Because it's similar to an interior wall timer, it's simple to set the temperature. This is a great weather cover. br>Because the deicer plug end must insert into this plug end, the plug end becomes so large that we are unable to fully close the weather cover on our dock's exterior electrical outlet. At three figures, the price is quite high.
The main difference between this unit and competitors selling for half the price is quality. When you shut the door on a Mercedes, you hear a satisfying sound. That's exactly what you'll get when you buy Kasco originals. I originally purchased a $30 thermostat, which I promptly returned and replaced with this model. The $30 unit was practically a toy, and there was no way it could have lasted more than a season. This is a high-quality industrial thermostat with only one function: to turn on and off the deicing units. This is the first year I've needed one, and I've got everything set up, from the half-hp motor to the dock amount and the thermostat. This works much better than I expected and appears exactly where I said it would. Except for mine, all of my neighbors' ponds/lakes are frozen. . . and my ducks love me for it!.
This is what we use to keep ice from forming on our dock. We use the thermostat that came with it to turn it on and off. Ours is set to 28 degrees. When the water temperature rises above the preset level, it automatically turns on and off. It's the second time we've done something like this. The first one had rusted after four years of use. This, we believe, occurred as a result of poor off-season storage. For peace of mind, I strongly suggest it.
I was able to work throughout the winter without any issues. As a result of the ice eater (running), there is no ice on the pier. There are no issues. We'll see if it lasts for more than one season. if I re- I'm thinking about buying the next version, which includes a timer. If the time is between X and Y and the temperature is below Z, turn on the light. It's just temperature right now, which is exactly what I was hoping for. However, given where I live and observing a neighbor's pier with the additional feature, the time would be an improvement.
Two were purchased for a large residential floating dock in January 2021. One of the units was defective right out of the box - Despite the fact that the temperature control has been set to zero. The other performed as expected but only lasted one winter season before ceasing to function. Within a year, I had to buy a new one (3rd unit). Both inoperable units were immediately returned to Kasco for repair or replacement under their 2-year warranty. a one-year warranty I'll keep you updated if/when I get a response.
It works fine, but I don't believe the thermostat's numbers are correct. My thermostat is set to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. When it was in the 1940s, it was still running. Maintain vigilance over yours.
In Nebraska, it was used beneath a floating boat dock and it worked perfectly. I went with the smaller motor (1/2hp), which was more than enough for me. Open water was maintained in a much larger area than just the area around our dock.
I tested this product and it performed as expected. br>I have not yet had the opportunity to test it in cold weather.
