Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use one of these products in a plastic kiddie pool to provide water for my ducks? Or do you have any ideas?

Yes.

Is it necessary to keep water on the heater at all times when it is turned on? I'd like to use it for a frozen-solid crock from which my city water flows. ?

The bottom of the heater heats up, but because the power cable enters through the bottom, it does not sit completely flat. br>Keep in mind that if your crock isn't filled with water and the temperature drops below 35 degrees, it will stay on. br>It gets hot enough to melt ice, but depending on the width and depth of your crock, it may not be able to completely unfreeze it at this time. It's at the edge of my pond, which is about 6 inches deep, and it's keeping a hole about 1 foot in diameter right now because of the sub-zero temperatures we've been having. Warmer temperatures in the 20s and 30s allow a larger area to remain unfrozen.

What if your pond is completely frozen over? This year's Winter has been more severe than the previous one. ?

If your pond is already frozen over, make a hole in the ice by pouring warm (not hot) water on it. After that, you'll be able to set up the De-. In the hole that had been created, there was ice.

HEAT! I wanted to double-check that it did what it was supposed to do before writing a review
5/5

My pond is 12 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 3 feet deep, and holds approximately 500 gallons of water (I'm not sure if I did the math correctly). It is 12 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 3 feet deep. Lakebay, Washington is where I call home. We had a winter storm here on the peninsula. We've been getting a lot of snow. Three photos have been added, as well as documentation of the usage. My pond had nearly frozen over when I arrived. I decided to throw the heater in the pond at the end of the day to see if it would work. My pond was nearly unfrozen when I woke up! I believe that the combination of running water and the heater was the most beneficial. br>br>I would buy it again, but make sure to clean the buildup off of it as instructed and it will perform as intended. br>br>The photos I took were of it before I used it, during its use (right before I tossed it into the pond), and the next morning after it had run for about 18 hours. 16 hours.

Maintaining the integrity of the ice
5/5

I relocated to a colder climate and was concerned about fish serving in the winter. Most days have been below freezing, with temperatures as low as one degree. My pool has frozen, but my pond has not. Installed de Icer, then partially covered the pond to block the wind while leaving one side open for air circulation. The fact that there is no ice in the pond and the fish are thriving is a bit surprising. Pond at previous house was longer and deeper, and it would freeze on occasion even with de-icer in it, with only one hole where de-icer was, and I don't recall the brand of de-icer. This deicer appears to be working, and my transplanted fish appear to be happy in their new home in the larger pond; of course, I brought them with me because they are family.

I would strongly suggest it
5/5

Last year, I used this product extensively in my goldfish/koi pond. It was difficult to carry bottles of hot water outside in 10 degree weather to place on top of my pond to thin the ice, but this method worked perfectly. I was able to clear the heavy ice in one day and no longer have to carry heavy jugs. The rest of the winter was spent with a fairly large hole in the ice (approximately 2 feet across). This year's version is still working perfectly. After a year or so of use, I've seen a lot of reviews where the product has stopped working. Because we have hard water (from a well), lime deposits would naturally form on this, so I removed it and cleaned it every few weeks. I did order a backup in case the first one failed. Exactly the same thing Number of the model. This product has exceeded my expectations.

provides poor customer service. Innovators in agriculture. I'm not sure if the product actually works. I called the company with a few concerns, including whether I had received the correct product from Amazon or if it was defective (e. g. It's supposed to float, but this one barely does. ) The young girl who answered the phone seemed irritated by the questions, and eventually said she'd ask someone else in a huff. She returned the call and said it was fine as long as it floats, but she never really answered my question. It makes me wonder what kind of service I would receive if the problem was more serious. My business is always lost due to poor customer service. There are far too many alternatives from other businesses.

So far, it appears to be working; I'm hoping it will last through the upcoming winter months
4/5

For keeping the water warm in my pond, this is a good heater. The only strange part is having to add something to hold the wire (I used a 3 foot long PVC pipe). Furthermore, the instructions stated that you could not use a power cord extension, which may be difficult for some users to understand. I also wish it had an LED light to indicate whether it was turned on or off. It's difficult to make educated guesses. br>br>For my pond, it has worked so far. The bubble encircled the heater and merged. For the past week, the temperature has fluctuated between 15 and 30 degrees Fahrenheit. br>br>During this bitter winter, I will keep you updated in a few weeks or months.

It's simple to set up, it works well, and it's simple to store
4/5

It was my second purchase of a warmer. The first one was of the same design and lasted for about 12 years. It's as simple as dropping it in my small pond and plugging it in to keep the pond from freezing solid and popping out of the ground. In my backyard, I have a plastic-lined 80 gallon pond. They have never caused me any problems. In the spring, I simply remove it and store it in my shed until the weather turns cold again.

Heater for Fish Ponds
5/5

418 - You wouldn't think it would be suitable for a 450 gallon goldfish pond based on the specs. We, on the other hand, have been using them for quite some time. It floats in the pond's center and can handle even the heaviest snowfall. 5 degrees Fahrenheit, with a few inches of ice free around it to allow the pond's bad gasses to escape. Before storing the lime in the spring, we must scrub it off. They've been around for at least two or three years, in my opinion. It has a high wattage, despite being thermostatically controlled. I'm not sure how much electricity costs on a yearly basis.

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT POND DE- ICER! I was astounded at how quickly and thoroughly this pond de-contaminated
5/5

Using icer was successful! I already have another brand in my pond, but it cost nearly twice as much. When it comes to performance, the other brand doesn't even come close! I was melting a hole in the ice with a pot of boiling water, then had to use my old de-icer. In the hole, there's an ice cube. I haven't had to manually melt anything since I put the Farmers Innovation Model in the pond! It has kept the skimmer area ice-free, as well as a large portion of my 1500 gallon pond. I was ecstatic to see how well this de-cluttering process worked out. Using icer was successful!.
