I didn't make a note of it, but I can give you an estimate. The average electricity rate in the United States is $0. Per kilowatt-hour, the cost is $12. The cost of running this heater 24 hours a day, seven days a week would be around $30 per month. FYI, I bought this heater because it has a lower operating cost than other heaters with higher wattages. One word of caution: if you have Koi, you must still run an aerator; I learned this the hard way.
It assists in keeping a hole in the frozen water for toxic gases to escape through.
According to the box, three years.
Yes. You only need to keep a hole open in case the pond freezes; you won't be heating the entire pond.

Yes, it works, but only for one winter season (3 months - 1 year). It lasts three months (December, January, and February) before dying. Yes, it has a three-year warranty, and yes, they have replaced it three times, but each time they have tried to claim that it was out of warranty because it was not the original purchase. The following was my argument: When you replace a defective item with a new one, the new one should have the same three-year warranty as the old one because it is new. br>However, after three winters of replacing the same one, the "new" one has been in the 90 gallon pond for three weeks and has died yet again! I live in a Frost Zone 7, which means I don't have to worry about freezing like I do in Alaska! Save yourself the annual hassle of having to PAY to return a defective heater and then having to wait for a replacement heater that only works for three months before dying. br>Or just accept the fact that you'll have to buy a new one every year, which will be inconvenient! br>I BOUGHT THIS IN 2016, USED IT FROM DECEMBER 2016 TO FEBRUARY 2017, HAD TO REPLACE IT IN DECEMBER 2017, REPLACED IN DECEMBER 2018, REPLACED IN DECEMBER 2019, AND NOW I MUST REQUEST ANOTHER REPLACEMENT. br>I'm finished. They can't seem to make one that lasts more than three friggin months, so I just want my money back! br>Every spring, my husband removes it from the pond, cleans it, dries it, and places it on a shelf in our laundry room in its original box for the summer. They all appeared to be brand new when we returned them. (DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY WERE!).
This is a hilarious tale. The wife, it turns out, had ordered a much less expensive de-odorant. I ordered this and an ice cream that looked like a rock at the same time. So, of course, I returned it to Amazon because she preferred the rock version. It was put to the test. The rock deicer, on the other hand, did about as well as a rock. It got stuck in the ice and couldn't be defrosted. anything can be iced br>br>I had to go back to our local pond store and purchase this item AGAIN. Now everyone agrees that this is a huge improvement. There's always a hole near the de- It's clear that it's keeping the ice open as it gets colder. br>br>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: br>br>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: br>br>ADDIT On the top, there is a light that indicates whether it is turned on (red) or off (blue). It works, I'm very pleased with this product, it's well worth the money, and I would strongly recommend it!.
In Colorado, I live at a height of 7,000 feet. The weather has been below freezing for several days in a row (lows in the single digits and highs in the 20s at best) over the last few months. On the surface of the pond, I still have an ice-free hole. I was able to de-stress after I received the de-stressor. My pond was already frozen over, and it was getting colder. I just plugged it in and left it on the ice. Since then, I've stayed away from it. It simply turns on and off on its own and goes about its business. I'm very happy with it!.
I have a small water feature with two areas where an ice hole must be open during the winter to protect the fish from gas buildup. I bought one of these for the shallow area, but I bought a different type of icer for the deeper area because I liked the hole in the middle, but it didn't keep the ice from melting. The Aquascape 39000 Pond Heater and De-Ionizer is a combination of a heater and a de-ion The ice is kept melted by icer. I'm not sure why it's so expensive, but it works, so I just purchased another one.
Given the brand name, I ignored the negative reviews and decided to give it a try. We purchased this in November, and it performed admirably for the first two months, including during a particularly cold spell in Maryland (daytime temperatures below 30° for two weeks, to be exact). It is, however, the middle of the month. We've been without a heater since January because this one has shorted out and tripped the GFI.
This was ordered in preparation for a particularly harsh winter in New Jersey this year. This unit didn't miss a beat this season, despite several arctic blasts and 60 inches of snow! The top-mounted light is ideal for determining whether or not the device is operational. The unit is well-made, and I expect it to last for a long time; the manufacturer backs it up with a three-year warranty, which is above average. Anyone looking for a trouble-free pond heater should consider this unit.
It did an excellent job of keeping the pond open so that our fish could survive the winter freeze.
