Yes, absolutely! When it comes to feral cats, wheat straw is the way to go. Oat straw, hay, and paper rabbit bedding all get mildewy and don't dry out. A feral colony can only eat wheat straw. And, as someone who has only recently begun to use this brand, I can attest to the fact that it is very well packed and kept. Competitors I've bought it from in the past haven't been as enthusiastic. You will be pleased if you purchase this.

I didn't use any kind of treatment on the straw, and I doubt it was treated before I purchased it, which wasn't cheap. I didn't want to spray anything on the straw after I wrapped it around my vegetables. Chemicals are kept to a minimum in my garden.
That would appear to be determined by the "thickness" of the material you use. At a height of 2 to 3 inches, I got about 30 to 40 square feet. More or less in some areas, and I think I only have about a half of a bale left. You will not be disappointed with this product.

We grew vegetables in the bale that was still intact. They were a total success. It came in a box, so it wasn't shredded or falling apart when I received it. I only wish I had purchased two or three additional pairs. They're currently out of stock. I'll be purchasing more in the near future.
I purchased two of these bales for archery practice, one of which is in fair to good condition (fairly tight). "square"), while the other bale is loose and falling apart, making it difficult to stack these for targeting. To see if I can find a better bale, I'll have to visit my local Lowe's or Home Depot. Such a letdown. 🙁.
Very good quality! The bale is generously sized and shipped in a box for convenience. Sweet, clean, and dry! Shipping was extremely quick! Exactly what I needed for my garden.
I only gave it four stars because I believe they could have done a better job of tying up the loose ends. It was extremely messy to move around (hay falling out) and I was constantly worried that it would fall apart; even the box it came in was full of loose hay. It arrived the next morning, which was extremely quick. I couldn't contain my joy! I'm going to keep it for a long time.
I used this in my garden to keep weeds at bay while also retaining moisture. Unfortunately, the straw sprouted its own seeds, rendering the remainder of the bale useless to me.
This product was purchased for use as insulation in feral cat winter homes, and it appears to work well. I've never purchased a straw bale before, but it appears to be exactly as described. I had no idea how much there would be.
