Questions & Answers

Is there a time limit?

I only use it once per season, at the beginning of the season (mid-May in Ohio). It looks nice throughout the summer, but if you want it to look fresh and new all year, you can apply it as needed. I haven't bought any new mulch in four years because of this product. I've saved a lot of time, money, and aggravation as a result of this. labor is being broken.

Hello: Thank you for your time and consideration. What is the rain resistance of this product?

Within a few hours, it dries and is ready to be rained on.

Will the new red mulch be covered by this brown?

It's particularly effective on brown mulch that's been given a breath of fresh air. It's a dye, and I'm not sure how well the brown dye will absorb into the red mulch if it's still fresh. In addition, I believe that if the mulch is disturbed, the red pieces of mulch will be visible beneath the top layer of brown that you sprayed this dye on. My pump yard sprayer was used to apply the solution.

Is it possible to combine this with herbicides such as Roundup to kill weeds in my flower beds while also restoring color?

That was a no-go for me. The color clogs the sprayer and prevents it from working properly. I tried to shave time off the task as well, LOL. First and foremost, get rid of the weeds. After that, add some color.

Excellent results
5/5

This is a fantastic product that will last for months and will save you money and time by not having to add to or replace your mulch. I sent a photo of my mulch half-sprayed with Colorback to demonstrate how well it adds color and refreshes the look of your mulch. I've been using it for a few years and I'm really happy with it. Simply use a pump sprayer; however, for faster work over a larger area, I prefer a back pack prayer.

It works, but it's a little clumsy

This concentrate is a better deal than buying gallon stain sprays, which cost around $20 per gallon, especially since this concentrate is currently on sale for under $40. The fact that it doesn't come with a measuring cup for mixing the concentrate with water (which is 4 ounces per gallon) is my biggest gripe with it. After that, all you have to do is combine everything and spray it. This is essentially just a natural wood stain for mulch. The most important part is to make sure it's a completely dry day because this takes about 6 hours to dry and set into the mulch. The stain works, but it's a little messy to apply, and you have to be careful not to overspray it, just like any other stain or paint. Furthermore, you may need more than one coat to achieve a deep, rich color, so you may require several gallon mixes, depending on the area you're working on. This won't hide your bare spots where more mulch is needed, but it will stain and restore the color of the mulch. It's a little less work than mulching every year, especially if you still have a lot of old mulch. br>br>4 out of 5 br>br>br>br>br>br.

Does the Job - It's a little strewn together - I've already gotten compliments! I had already refreshed my mulch twice this year and didn't need to do so again; all I needed was something to restore the color
4/5

(Sun, rain, and heat in Florida) After debating whether to go with red or brown, I decided on the latter to be safe. It's a dark brown, not the reddish-brown color you'd get out of a bag. Nuggets of brown pine bark. Wear latex gloves, old shoes, and flattened cardboard boxes as barriers near the house or walks. Messy and time-consuming (my front yard took two hours), patience is required, but the end result is excellent. On AMAZON, I purchased a 2 GAL sprayer. Read what others have to say about how it ruined their sprayer - Several neighbors inquired as to what I was doing, and when I told them, their response was, "WOW, looks like brand new mulch. ".

It really makes a difference in the flower bed! I'm very happy with this product because I have a large wooded area behind my house that looks like one big flowerbed for the first 20 feet—way too much to mulch
4/5

I mulched for about 2-feet all the way around the perimeter. 3 back, and then I colored the SOIL with this colorant so that the unmulched area of light-colored soil looked like this. The mulched area and the colored soil are no longer as distinct. The first photo shows the colorant before I used it, and the second photo shows the colorant after I used it. Of course, colored soil does not appear to be identical to colored mulch, but I believe the color is far more consistent than it was before I used the colorant. The third photo shows a flower bed in my front yard where I recently dug out some old bushes, planted several new plants, and mulched a section of the flower bed with fresh mulch. I colored the old mulch to match the new with the colorant. So far, everything appears to be in a fairly consistent pattern. br>br>Next time, I'll wear my painter's laytex (or other water-resistant) gloves to keep the colorant from getting on my hands. (However, it washed right off my hands. ) I caught it while trying to unclog a clogged sprayer nozzle. The colorant is quite thick, and it clogs the nozzle of the sprayer. For that, I'll have to come up with a new sprayer strategy. However, I still enjoy using this product and will continue to do so. I wish it were less expensive, and as I used it, I found myself wishing the seller had made it in green because I'd like to spray some of my grass with it! br>br>This product comes highly recommended.

I am extremely happy
5/5

I used this product to restore the brown mulch in my front yard, and it worked perfectly. The color is rich and dark, and it restored the appearance of my sun-bleached mulch. The yard sprayer made application a breeze. Otherwise, you'll end up with unsightly stains if you don't use cardboard to protect your plants and around the perimeter of your mulch. During the application process, I would suggest wearing gloves. A measuring cup would have been nice to have. Overall, this was a lot easier and less expensive than laying down new mulch, and it was probably more eco-friendly as well. friendly. It saved me from having to go to the hardware store several times to pick up bags and bags of mulch. Because of the sprayer I was using, it took me about 2 hours to apply in my yard. The sprayer I was using kept clogging, so I simply taped the nozzle and adjusted the spray pattern, which seemed to solve the problem.
