This smaller tape was purchased in order to have more bending capabilities when masking models for painting. br>The dispenser does not appeal to me in the least. It has a proclivity for easily opening. The tape will stick to the dispenser if you mount it in the recommended manner. When I'm not using the tape, I store it according to the instructions, but when I do, I flip it over. The tape sticks to the dispenser and can be difficult to remove at times. br>The tape is fine, but it is a little pricey. br>I'm not going to replace this tape as I go through it; I'll keep a roll on hand for different practices, but the tape isn't a good fit for me.
This is fantastic. It's lightweight, easy to apply, and versatile. Remember to burnish it down, and you won't have any issues with paint "creeping" beneath the surface. It worked perfectly for the color separation lines on my Revell BRE Datsun 510, and it lifts off without damaging the previous paintwork.
This is one of the main reasons why the tape works so well. The dispenser keeps the tape's edges clean of very small particles, allowing the tape edge to seal properly, which prevents paint from seeping under the tape edge and ruining a project. Take good care of it.
It holds up well when applied directly to the skin without being altered in any way. When cutting into it to make more complex masked shapes, however, it appears to bleed a lot more. It's possible that some paint will seep through beneath it. It's never too much, so a quick clean-up is all that's required, but it's still a pain. For this price, you get three rolls of tape (one in a reusable dispenser), so it's a fantastic deal in any case.
When it comes to masking something while building a model, nothing beats Tamiya tape. It has the right amount of tackiness and flexibility to conform to rounded surfaces and always leaves a clean paint separation line. This was a particularly good deal, as it included a dispenser and three rolls of tape for the price of one refill roll.
Three rolls are on my order. What I was looking for. I was nearing the end of a 1/32 scale Hasegawa Zero build when I decided to give a canopy mask a try. I went online and found that none of them were available, either because they were out of stock, or because the price, shipping, or both were ridiculous. This tape is thin and semi-transparent, making it simple to see where you need to cut. Excellent outcomes.
Tamiya is a well-known manufacturer, and this tape is excellent. br>br>Easy to use and has excellent adhesion. br>br>For serious modelers, this is a must-have. br>br>Excellent product and workmanship at a reasonable cost.
It works as intended, but it has a little too much adhesion for my tastes; some of the acrylic paint would peel off with it, so I'd have to seal off my first layer before applying any tape. Alternatively, you can use the method of applying tape to the shirt and then modeling.
