There's no need to make any changes to this USA-based organization. I've used this, as well as the 25' and 30' versions, for decades and have never had any issues. It's great for big jobs, and replacing it when it kinks and wears out from jobsite grit and heavy use isn't too expensive. I've used a lot of different tapes, and the blade coating and familiarity of the Stanley product make it easy to read and calculate on the go. Also, unlike other tapes, the chrome finish slides easily into and out of tool bags without becoming tangled in "ruggedized" rubber coating (making it much more likely to fumble and drop one of those ruggedized models in the day-to-day grind of life on the job).
I'd never seen the tape's "skin" with the numbers peel off before, but that's exactly what happened for about 8 feet. It was a complete waste of a good tape.
I've had to deal with these Stanley tape rules for over 25 years. . . they've served me well. made. When compared to plastic ones, it's a bit of a throwback. The only drawback is that they're a little on the heavy side. However, the quality of how it's made is incredible, and Stanley continues to do so.
This was exactly what the employed contractor was looking for to replace his old one.
Only one measurement is possible because of the additional length.
It was exactly what he needed, and it worked!.
It's the only tape I'll buy, and I use it at work every day.
For years, this has been the only tape I've used.
